A few years ago when I started menopause I started experiencing anxiety but as soon as I started hormone replacement therapy I was back to normal. But recently I had an accident that cause me to faint and I hit the floor and busted my lip and broke a few teeth. That accident had me super anxious for about 3 months. I was able to slowly get back to normal by reducing hyper stimulating situations, focusing on meditation, deep breathing and somatic exercises. But just as important by educating myself about anxiety. Knowledge is power.

about 2 weeks ago, I was exercising outside and it was on high 80s, I was wearing a sauna jacket like I always do but a little boost on my work out gave me heat exhaustion, and since that day my life just went downhill. I've to the ER the passed 2 Mondays with palpitations, strong chest and back pain, numbness and weakness and all of my left side of the body from the neck down. They Ran all ER blood work, Xrays, ultrasound on my stomach and everything came back with flying colors. I've been referred to a Cardiologist to figure out where those palpitations are coming from since they're really random and once they start I literally can't take a couple steps without my heart going crazy. Today marks 3 days out the ER and I felt I've recovering because my body is not aching as much and I can control my breathing and my palpitations and after watching this video I almost 100% sure hyperstimulation is what is going on in my body.

It is very true that you have to identify the anxious behavior that is causing you stress to reduce hyperstimulation. This can be rather difficult as we all know that a learned behavior is hard to change. But first you have to notice the anxious thinking and a therapist can really help you with that. Be careful however to not get too self-critical as that will also lead to stress. Even though anxiety can really make us suffer I believe that it can help us change our lifes in a positive way. I hope that this gets more attention and acceptance in the future. Thank you @anxietycentre for your outstanding information and work!

Feeling lightheaded/dizzy is a common anxiety symptom. We have an article about that here: www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-disorders/symptoms/dizziness/ While it can persist and be really annoying, it isn't dangerous because it's just a symptom of stress (including anxiety-caused stress). It will slowly subside when you reduce stress, stop worrying about it and reacting to it, and give your body time to recover. But as with all anxiety symptoms, you need to be patient because recovering from hyperstimulation (chronic stress) can take a lot more time than most people think.

They have been testing me for everything for a year and three months. I had severe anxiety for two weeks a year ago, then the situation got resolved. I felt great for two weeks. Then suddenly my body feels like I’m coming down with a fatigue like flu, tense, bit of aches, etc. Nausea. I’m 46. I just had covid for 2 weeks, didn’t feel it anymore. Soon as the covid healed up, the fatigue achey stuff all came right back. If it’s health anxiety, I’ve always taken lexapro, shouldn’t that have stopped this…….. I tried Xanax, no help. I’m a single guy trying to survive, I want my life back. Slightest amount of stress makes it worse, but I don’t feel stress or anxiety, well I mean just basic like everyone. Over a year now! The root cause of your unsteadiness is likely anxiety and hyperstimulation. If you contain your anxiousness and reduce your body's stress overall, the unsteadiness will subside. However, it's unlikely you'll get to the root cause of your anxiety without professional help. That most often requires the help of an experienced therapist since there are many factors to consider.

Poor sleep is a common indication of hyperstimulation (when the body becomes overly stimulated). You can eliminate poor sleep by reducing stress and giving your body time to recover. I (Jim Folk) am not an advocate of sleeping pills because they can set up their own problems, like dependence. It's better to restore sleep naturally by reducing your stress and increasing rest, imo. While it might take a while for good sleep to return, it does and without any potential adverse effects.

To eliminate it, you have to reduce your body's stress, increase rest, and for long enough for the body to recover. We explain it is more detail in the Recovery Support area. I believe you'd find it helpful to join and read about the many ways we can reverse hyperstimulation. Thankfully, it does disappear in time, but it can take more time than expected. Hyperstimulation-caused unsteadiness can persist as long as the body is hyperstimulated. That's why eliminating hyperstimulation is so important. ADHD can certainly play a role in hyperstimulation and anxiety. We use the term "anxious person" because it describes behavior rather than "having anxiety" or a "person with anxiety," suggesting anxiety is a "thing" we have rather than a behavior we use. We could use the term "a person who behaves anxiously." Maybe that's more obvious.

No, there are no quick-fix cures. Eliminating hyperstimulation and its symptoms takes knowledge and effort. However, if a person is willing to learn and work at it, yes, hyperstimulation and its symptoms can be eliminated.

Music is subjective. Some people like it while others might not. Since you don't like the music, we have a voice-only version here. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h5alo7qky6unqKc.html

Yes everyday for months on end I get drowsy/fatigue, hair loss, hot flashes with sweating, nausea at moments with acid burps, abdomen discomforts with so much gas, joint pains and stiffness, weight loss, heart racing or palpitations and chest discomfort, sometimes dizzy, short of breath, head aches. Everyday 24/7 for months with no ends at random even when feel as if calm I still feel symptoms regardless! I’m so sick and tired of this! Symptoms sometimes get so scary and intense that I curl up in a fetal position and cry while shaking as I go into thinking something is physically wrong with me and I’m dying/fading away! 🥲😭

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with anxiety. Yes, it can make life miserable. However, you can overcome it. Have you considered working with a therapist to help you do that?

Jim is it normal with anxiety to constantly come in and out of anxiety attacks ( I’ve been on Citalopram for 13 years and just recently bad anxiety has popped back in and seems to be difficult to handle ) Wake up fine but my anxious thoughts and constant focus on symptoms keeps the loop going ? Is that possible
