Russia's invasion of Ukraine, escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and China's military build-up in the South China Sea are increasing instability in the world.
This is leading nations across the globe to boost their defences.
Military spending reached an all-time high of nearly $2.4 trillion last year.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute or SIPRI says the increase is in all five geographical regions for the first time in 15 years.
And, will Western sanctions affect Iran's ability to wage a war against Israel?
Plus Italy's Venice is charging entry fees for day trippers.

Nothing he said about Iran's economy and sanctions makes sense, Inflation in Iran is the same everywhere, when they talk about inflation in Iran or Tukey they talk about food inflation but when they talk about inflation in the West they always ignore food inflation as it doesn't exist, China need all the oil and gas Iran can produce so who needs the West? During a conflict with Germany, French manufacturer Renault (I think) manufactured and provided tanks on a profit free basis. Maybe a new law where manufacturers would provide profit free weaponry would be welcome. If the companies did not profit as much from wartime manufacture, they would be less likely to welcome conflict. Even having former employees running defense departments would not able to help them.

Sanctions aren’t against food production in Iran. That is likely being done by the Iranian government to its own people in order to increase funding of weapons and support to proxies around the region.

Russia really opened Pandoras Box by starting its colonial war of cultural genocide against Ukraine. Sweden and Finland now in NATO, NATO-Europe up and above 2% on total defense spending with further increases incoming this year, UK defense spending about to increase a lot, US and European defense industry seeing massive growth, Japan scaling up its Self Defence forces by 100% and South Korea becoming the weapons factory of the West. Long-term, Russia's war will lead to the West becoming more well-armed than in decades with large forces forward deployed right onto Russia's doorstep. And all of this could've been avoided if Russia could just accept that Ukraine is a free country, but like the thieves they are they just couldn't stop themselves.

The US is weakening their military has fallen behind and the wests industrial military complex has been proven to be weak and innefficient, it is being outproduced by Russia alone. With the fall of western power this creates a power vacuum and uncertainty, the world trading blocs have realigned as well with 70% of the world ignoring the wests sanctions. This vacuum and uncertainty means a stronger military is reasinable because that vacuum will be filled.
