I kinda understand why OG players are complaining because I started playing during the 4th Anniversary but didn't get anything and then finally when the 5th Year came around, I played so much DBD and I think I got 4 survivor crowns in total and that was stressful. Then just the other day I put in that code to get the other crowns and it made all that work from years ago unjustified. With that being said I'm happy that new players can get them because they are relics of DBD's history. I mean I'd love codes to get the Legacy skins.

i swear, this is the weirdest obsession that i'll never understand. like, yes, I've been there, I know how much of a nightmare it was to get those crowns. but the whole mentality of if I i had it bad, no one deserves anything better is just so weird to me. "it was supposed to be exclusive to us" it was exclusive to you for like what, 2 or 3 years? and how many times have you used it in that time? it's so weird to want to keep scarcity for something you don't even want

People will always feel entitled to exclusivity over their "FOMO" items I own several of DBD FOMO items, i've been playing since 2018 and in my opinion they could all go to the store or be given free of charge, FOMO in video games is horrible and I hope more game companies do the same thing of slowly re-adding / giving previous exclusive items, i believe one should be rewarded for their dedication to the game, not for being in the right place at the right time. In DBD's case i think the true "exclusive" things should be received for p100'ing a character for example, i would feel far more "special" being rewarded banners, badges and exclusive skins for my dedication to a character over just having 10 bucks available at the right moment in time.

It makes the grind pointless. That was my main point of complaint when I saw it. Idc if other people get it or not. It just makes me want to grind less as they always give exclusive stuff later. "Oh this is exclusive, nah who cares? They will give it away for free next month/year/etc." I have been playing since 2016 July. I have seen a lot of things become non-exclusive. It makes my grind lose value, not the cosmetic itself. I feel like I wasted hours of gameplay while people get in 10 seconds by putting in a code. Why did I play for 8k hours? 1k could have been saved by just putting codes in 5 minutes lol. The only thing that makes me stand out from other people atm is the legacy prestige skins I got and if they give it away with a code as well, from that point on I will just play dbd on my free days, off work. Instead of grinding my ass to get "exclusive" skins, banners, etc. I equipped the crowns maybe once or twice but I played for MANY HOURS to get that ugly ass crown to have a sense of achievement. Now take a look at it from this perspective. :) I am not crying. I am just slightly annoyed that I wasted hours for nothing lol. If they release no exclusive content from now on I will be the happiest man alive lmao. No need to grind. Get it whenever you can.

yea i remember in my first anniversary getting items as killer was ez and as survivor it was just pain i love that they came up with the trinket system (first time was for last years halloween event) and those ugly ass crowns, i will never wear them ever 😂

I can only assume that it's the same mentality as someone working hard for a raise while simply given to someone else. But like, those are just digital cosmetics, no one forced you to go through all that to obtain them. And saying they don't deserve them is such a self entitled way of thinking

I mean it kind of sucks because it was a nightmare getting those crowns for every survivor and killer. Like I earn mine but you don't earn yours. It was a nice flex but I get it. I wouldn't be calling people cry babies especially the ones that actually did earn it. They have a good reason. Last year they give us a coda for the fifth anniversary. That makes sense because it was just a knockoff of the fourth. But everybody complained at the 4th Didn't get a code. The other reason I also kind of don't like it is because now I don't know who's been playing this game for so long. When I did see people wear that crown I'm like" oh cool I'm not the only one who's addicted to this game" but I did wish it had different version so you know which is which.

i like it. personaly, those were hte sign of asshole cocky survivors. But now it's just, people who like them. and i, personally, prefer that. Not to mention, FOMO is the worst. I know some may be frustrated if they owned them, but it's really better to phase out fomo whenever posible...let people have access wether they joined 1 or 7 years ago. i hate how, for example, there's no way to access those two artist skins, even if i were to subscribe to prime right now, just becayse i didn't play dbd at the time they were released through twitch. How is that good?
