I think the problem lies with the fact that people do not really understand what Early Access means. They expect a fully fledged game that might have a couple of bugs - this is not what early access is about. Early access means unfinished, sometimes very unfinished. It's a risk that you take that sometimes pays off wonderfully, and other times is an absolute pile that never gets further developed Early access has advantages for both the dev and the end user. The dev can catch bugs that don't turn up in internal testing and the end user can help shape the game with feedback about the game. If you don't understand that about early access then don't buy into it. To be honest LMU is actually one of the more polished early access titles I've had. It seems that everybody has forgotten about Rennsport's lack of content and features (although it is free with a beta key) and also that ACC early access was just one car and one track - you had to pay for that and nobody at the time complained. Edit - I'm not refunding as I see a lot of potential here, I'm in it for the ride, although I can understand that this won't be everybody's cup of tea.

You make a good point. But the price is bad for the value even for early access. There are plenty of examples of games in early access where you get a lot of value within the game, even if it is clearly still a work in process. The pricing for this seems to be too similarly priced to the same value as you could get for FINISHED game. If you like it, that's great. Because in order for it to succeed and get better, it will need dedicated people like you.

Hopefully they can fix what needs to be fixed but if they don't then I think they are done. I am not refunding because I like endurance racing and I like the feel of the game. 🤞🤞🤞

the argument for "there aren't enough GTE cars" and "not enough tracks" is quite dumb, they clearly stated that it will only have tracks/cars from the 2023 WEC season on launch and they will add 2024 content later on.

Regardless of what they have stated, 7 tracks is quite low. Even if it is just what the 2023 season had. It is not a not a lot of tracks. Same with cars. It is what it was in real life. But in a racing sim it is a bit low. Especially if they are going to dlc 2024 and more.

Looks fun i want to try it! I also like that most people ive seen driving have been in cockpit which is refreshing coming from gt7. Im curious how much has been improved since this video?

I got a refund on steam. The whole thing just felt like crap, the visuals, the feel of the wheel, the brakes... the problem is that I could see it was gonna take hours to dial in the settings and you cannot get a refund if you wait more than 2 hours. So that is why for me.

Assetto Corsa is cheaper? ACC, AMS 2 on sale? Dude is talking like it’s your first racing sim. People, if you have never played a racing sim and don’t own any, don’t buy this game, at least not yet. Buy AC, mod it, love it, sink untold hours into it. Buy ACC and/or AMS 2 when they go on sale. iRacing is divisive but it has value for many so play that if you want to. Basically get into sim racing. This game is a beta test. It’s unfinished and it’s been out for a day. It’s made by Studio 397 so it’s almost guaranteed to come good to some extent, and this price is supposed to be a beta discount. But my goodness don’t buy this if you’ve never bought a racing sim. It will be a hobby killer and you’ll think sim racing is a joke lol. Bloody hell.

Early access doesn't mean beta version. You expect that the features in the game are basically done.. but requiring polish.. apart from some awful menu issues the game is reasonable IMHO.. i haven't been experiencing any issues particularly

0:37 - Lemme fix that. There is an easy way to get an organized class grid without qualifying. 1: Make sure you have practice session turned on in event settings. 2: Skip the practice session (unless you want to get a few laps in) And when you start the race, it should be organized!

Same here. The only problem I found online, cars oversteer like crazy, and even if you get used to them, it will spin at some corner or other. I saw tons of guys qualifying better than me, and spining for no reason 🤣poor guys, also happened the same to me. But probably a skill issue, idk.

It's early access because they expected the reviews. The game won't change much overtime, see the state of rf2 a game that's been developed for years. This is the same franchise.

It's an early access. Beta version, what do you expect, + look at early access to some of the other sims early access 1 track 1 car. I do believe more vehicles are on the way once they sort the bugs out. Patches coming thick & fast.

I'm old and I just play singleplayer at home. But I don't understand English well and I don't know how to turn on the replay of the entire 18 minute race. Can someone advise me? Otherwise, I like it a lot.

I bought it last night, but before that, I read what they said, and it was clear that I was buying a Beta version of it - I remember mid 90s, I bought Windows 95 Beta version and , when the final version was released, I had to buy it with no discount ! People who ask for refund didn't read the advice on the site, they say it is no finished (fortunately, LOL), they as buyers to file the bugs, send feedback etc.....

Hello you keep mentioning the load times and that you are running a 4090 but it is the speed of your storage drive that controls load time, it doesn’t seem to take that long to load for me I reckon it probably takes about 1 1/2mins to load a race at the most on my pc

I for the life of me couldn’t find a decent setup for my wheel and pedals! Felt like the cars were really twitchy to small movements and then required big movements to get around corners so I ended up with a tonne of understeer! Same with braking too, I tried numerous pedal profiles, even turned on ABS but that felt like it caused more understeer, I refunded it in the end as my 2 hour window was nearly up to do it. It shouldn’t take that long imo together that figured out, I guess I’ll wait for someone who can be bothered to do it first and then I’ll try again 😂

For all people say about Project Cars 2 it still seems to do the best job of simulating the Le Mans, and all different era's which means real cars from the heyday of endurance racing.

For people refunding the game are just impatient, S397 said that’s it’s not their final version and there would be issues yet people are getting mad about it, they warned us so, maybe they should wait until the final version before calling the W.I.P version a completely broken game

Ive been with iRacing for long time and I am a big fan of iracing . Surprisingly I enjoy a lot more of La man ultimate in term of driving experiences. This sim is the most realistic of how the cars behaves. It feels really close to the real car honestly, but online system need a lot of improvement.

To compare iracing price wise isn’t very comparable. Iracing would cost £13 a month for subscription and then to get the cars and tracks that are on LMU it would cost upwards of £200. £30 doesn’t sound that bad tbh

This is $43 CND. The most I have paid for a sim is $15 CND for Kart Kraft and $18 CND for Cyberpunk. I think supporting a company by buying an "early access" is a great idea, only when said company doesn't feel like a "fly by night" operation that will likely shut down in 4 to 6 months and a final product is never released. I still have an in-box Enter the Matrix game from 2003 that was so flawed it couldn't even install! I thing the price tag is still on it and was $45-55 CND. So, I would definitely be cautious about this. If the company pushes some updates to address some of the more.major concerns soon, then it would give people confidence that they are actually going to stick with it.

i picked this game up today and i gotta say theres a lot of potential, its early access so hopefully the bugs will be ironed out in the near future, once hte menus are sorted and online is less buggy then i think the game will be solid enough in its early access stage

My menus weren't buggy on practice offline or online. But when I tried to play with the AI, the menus turned out to be laggy and slow.

My PC 12600KF, 32gb DDR4 3600, SSD.M2, RTX 4070. And how many fps had I? 12-13 fps on 2K resolution with ultra settings. I can understand that this game needs more than 12Gb videocard, but can this game shows this limit in settings like other games do? And I didn't saw any racing videogames which needed more than 12Gb of video. I lowed graphic to High and graphics looks so BAD and it takes only 5,5Gb of video with 130fps. But it looks like 2005 year today. I'll try some higher settings

we can’t complain about how many cars and tracks this Sim has given us for $33.. I participated in early access for ACC, it was 25$ and we got 1 car and one track. So seven trucks aren’t that bad

It’s a difficult one this. On one hand I think: Motorsport games doesn’t really have a good track record. On the other hand: the WEC is involved and I think they do want this game to succeed. Plus the fact that this is basically a modernized version of RF2 does appeal to me. Yes of course there are a lot of bugs in this early access mode, but I do think we have to give the people at Motorsport games a chance to make this work.

I agree that in a multi class race the starting grid being divided by class is a must not a want. This alone would make this a no buy for me at the present time. Yes I understand EA is not a finished product so one can only hope the devs are listening and address the multiple issues being brought up by many users. But fix the issues it is still a better value than i-rent as in that sandbox you are forced to buy more content to compete in most series and even the content you purchase can only be used as long as you continue to pay the mothership her monthly subscription charge. In i-rent $33 will only get you a couple of tracks and maybe 1 car!

Iracing is definitely a trap, Ive spent the money but I'd argue my play time and races completed says that I find it worth it haha, definitely too expensive for not being able to play the sim offline at least when you dont have the subscription, but have already spent $400 on tracks and cars.

I like the idea of this game. I like hypercars. I like Sebring, been there 2 times already and recently I was in Daytona during Roar before Rolex 24. Sebring 12 will be in March this year. I was a bit surprised they included Sebring raceway, not Daytona raceway. There are two endurance races: Daytona 24 and Sebring 12, that's why I thought Daytona should have higher priority. Anyway when you drove around Sebring it looked pretty familiar to me. I could even point where I would be standing with my camera! 🤣 I'll wait few more weeks. Hopefully during Steam Spring Sale they will have a small discount AND hopefully by that time more hotfixes are already rolled out.

I don't see how you can rate/review a clearly marked early access game like it's at V1 full release. The game does have a known issues page and label themselves 'early access'. Early access/beta exists to stress test, find bugs and most importantly get feedback from users to help prioritize the backlog.

I also prefer the forcefeedback and graphics over iracing, looks and feels 10 years ahead sadly. But everything else is a total mess 🤣 lets see what the future brings

I have 21hours on the game already. My thoughts are that online has got better since launch, I’ve had iracing before but didn’t take much of a liking to it due to how expensive it is. If you think about it, it’s cheaper to buy Le Mans ultimate than buy all these cars and tracks in iracing. Not to mention the subscription itself. I think it’s a solid game of course it needs work but Im enjoying it so far. I really do hope they fix things quick and that they can implement the new 2024 season at least before the end of the year

I have a simagic alpha mini and le mans is not even in the simagic app. The game's menu is not finished some information is missing I can't even adjust my ffb properly and for some reason my graphics are not as good looking as those youtuber. I have a ryzen 7800x 3d and rx 7900 xt.

This is an early access SIM, not a plug in cartridge for a Nintendo. Sim's are never plug n play, ever, there's always tweaking and setting up to tune it to your system and wants. If your not prepared to put the time in and also appreciate it is early access then maybe it is not for you. It is from the stable of RF2 which is arguably THE best driving sim, so I am happy to support and look forward to the updates. If you don't have RF2, I would recommend this also.

They've not sorted out the multiclass thing at all in single player. I feel a lot of the single player performance issues are down to the number of cars that you cannot edit, if you do a race including all three classes, and why wouldn't you want to do that. Running all three means that 60 AI cars get dumped on the track. Given that LMU is derived from rF2 that is a recipe for frames dive bombing south. Run a hypercar-only race and you get 15 opponents and all is good in the world and it runs like a champ. So MG/Studio 397 have done themselves no favours there.

The game basically is an even less functional rF2 (somehow that's possible), why would I spend money on this? I already don't play rF2 because it's completely broken. And I'm no hater because when it works it's super fun, it just doesn't much too often to be worth spending my time on it. People need to stop hiding behind the EA tag, until the beginning of this month it was meant to be a full 1.0 release, they are using EA as an excuse, period. And for those comparing this to ACC and its EA launch, yeah ACC's was shit, a demo really, but in a couple of years it became a genuinely respectable product, rF2 started as a broken product and over a decade later it's just slightly less broken. LMU is just like its predecessor but with less features and content.

This exactly. rF2 is heralded for having the best FFB, but the entire package is barely playable and full of bugs. If MSG/Studio397 can’t make rF2 a decent product, why should we think LMU will be any different?

I get the same lag at times in ACC. My PC's performance in the past week or two in online races on ACC has been really poor. No idea why. But if you compare your experience with that of Dave Cam, he seemed to be lag free. With racing games, a decent CPU is just as important as the GPU. I know I need to upgrade my Ryzen 5 2600. It's way underpowered for my RX6800 XT. The problem with sims is that a lot, if not all, of the physics modelling is done on the CPU (I'm not sure if there might be some use made of the GPU) and you have highly detailed car models, tracks, track data, etc. All of that has to be handled by the CPU in some form or another before it ends up in the GPU. The more cars you have, the better your CPU needs to be.

This was the first day of early access. You're basically paying to alpha test the game for them. If you want a fully fleshed out product, wait until it's actually released. You're basically gambling $33 that it will eventually be fully fleshed out when they actually release it, probably for a higher price. baldur's gate 3 was in early access for years, with only 1 act and that turned out great for those who participated... there are also many games that never made it past early access or stayed a hot mess. It's pretty obvious that it's going to be a while before this is finished. Their website fully states this, along with their roadmap. it's rather unfortunate if their steam page doesn't.

NASCAR Heat 3 4 & 5 are playable and you can have some real fun with mates online but sadly motorsports games then gave us "NASCAR 21: Ignition" and honestly while the graphics look better than any Heat game its just not as fun thanks to poor physics and AI, I fell for the hype as all the promos for "NASCAR 21: Ignition" looked amazing but sadly once I played it that hype soon vanished.

This is Le Mans! Official WEC licensed sim. Why it should contain gt3 cars or other tracks? I can't understand, why so many people refund it. It's an EA title, and it will get better! And at the moment, you can have much fun in singleplayer, but also in multiplayer. Joined 3 GTE online races and had no problems and it was fair racing. Very good.

Race look really bad. I thought that GT7 races are outdated cos it was made for weak PS4, but just look at Le mans. Where is grass? Why it's so flat? What is going on with trees? I thought that Forza Motorsport looks not really good, but this game change my mind. ACC has much more good looking graphic.

Think your comments are harsh - this is effectively Day 1 of Early Access. I'm sure most of the things you spoke about ARE coming. Could be in EA for a year, so if you want to be part of the process of helping the game along, then stick with it and feed back to the devs. (BTW at 14:00 ish, there IS a list of known issues by end of yesterday. Lot of them, but they are responding quickly). Its also VERY clear its an EA title when you buy on Steam, so you cant level that against them either.

Iracing is a monthly subscription, you have to buy content etc etc, so im sure they have way more resources to hire more developers, also owned by a millionaire. I have all the sims and just enjoy all of them because i remember when we didn't have all these options in sim racing, and i've been sim racing since the 90's. Lets just support the "Game" developers that support the hobby with games, not try to put them out of business with negative content creation for clicks.

I figured the game would be this way on first release. I never buy any racing games on first release, period. I will wait till the end of 2024 and then see how the game is doing. Next, I am not into this kind of endurance type racing and with only 7 tracks - I know this is WEC racing. The game is too limited for content for me. I don't do online racing anymore. Single player with AI is a joke from what I see in this video. And I will wait till it has VR implemented. Till then I have RFactor and RFactor 2 which I enjoy which have VR. Take care.

Just to let everyone know this game is just a copy and paste of RF2, it has the same great driving experience with the same awful ui and bugs. The Gtes and Lmp2 are in rf2 if you turn the FFB down you will find these will feel much better. If you want the grid fixed just do qualify and jump to next session it will solve the issue. Really silly of S397 to just ignore what RF2 players have been telling them for a decade lol.

If you refund this EA it’s pretty stupid imo. It’s very cheap atm and will only get expensive whenever more content is added. Also bugs are getting fixed with every update. Atm it is my favourite sim even with the quirks it has. I have been an avid iracer but after playing this for a while iracing handling just feels plain and dull.
