I was also on the fence on the BMS until I got them in-hand and then they upped to Yuto and April dunk levels for me (favorites of 2023) Got my sights on the There's, the Trocadero Gardens and possibly the Burnt Sunrise 👀

The jpack Chicagos are truly one of the greatest examples of a fantastic colorway becoming widely available to everyone when I heard they were doing the restock in 2024 I knew I was going to end up getting a pair for under $250 cuz I knew it was coming from overseas, however it truly restores my faith in the sneaker Community because of the fact that that amazing colorway has now become widely available and I love it so much. Jordan keep up the great content love your stuff is always brother and can't wait to see some more self-aware battles with Korg 😂😂😂😂👌👌👌👌💯💯💯💯

I dont believe that at all. I am a skater and have been skating since 2005 the only shoes I wore were és, dunks and Ipath. Nowadays i can understand not wearing them cause they are bulky asf but back in the day ALL skate shoes would fkn huge!! Jfc i had a pair of DCs where the tongue was like 3.5 inches thick lol that's how they were though cause it was still a newish thing so all the companies had super thick padded shoes thinking it would help the skater but in reality hindered the skater and his ability to manipulate the board. Notice most all skate shoes now have a similar silhouette to like off-the-wall vans.

Sillouette of sb dunk fits the wide pants trend, thats the reason for me. Air force 1 too, but I prefer the flatter dunks. I also feel sb put more thought and story to their releases, just like art work.

The ishod sea crystal low was when I first collected pairs and not skate them. I still skate a lot of my pairs, skated the whole fruity pack. But some pair definitely get special occasion treatment

I agree 100% about those Futura’s . I have always preached about shoes are meant to be worn and creasing is natural and it gives character . Not on these 😮 , creasing on these makes them super ugly 😮 . I bought the Crease Beast but have yet to put them on the shoes , guess I’m waiting for a sign or special occasion.

I think SB dunks are still popular because they are literally the last thing that have some sort of resell value left for resellers to hold on to. Can't wait until SB dunks don't have much resell value anymore and us that actually want it can get it easier

As a skater who has collected SBs. I never skate in them. They’re expensive for skating shoes and I could make money out of them so why would I skate in them. This year might have the weirdest collection of SBs, and for that reason: 3. Rayssa Leal SB; 2. Chicago SBs, 1. Futura SBs

I copped the BMS and COS to be honest, the City of Style were slept on hard. Love that I can cut or wear away the canvas to reveal the red suede underneath. Definitely SBD of the year so far, even better than the Futuras. Cope more.

I started getting into “collecting” last year around March and boy was my time good. I’m in my 40s never had a Jordan or a Dunk prior or anything but running shoes (ironic with current trends). I am still going but my timing was great from accessibility and also the level of cool shoes. Loving the GRs that are available. Also love the malachite like it was super rare. Couldn’t get into the big moneys

I started skating when I was 5 years old in 1996. I had generic shoes up until I was like 12 and I got some DC’s then I got es shoes because the kostons were the shit back in the day. Rich kids that didn’t even skate owned Osiris D3’s. I went to lakai when they came out, audio, and then Nike sb came out and I haven’t bought another kind of shoe since except the vans half cabs. The Nike sb’s are the best looking skate shoe hands down. But it’s hard to justify skating them nowadays since they aren’t replaceable. So I wear them for looks. And half cabs and blazer sbs for skating.

I feel like the Hyper Royal & Malachite SB Dunk Lows would’ve sold a lot better had they named them the OG Seahawks SB Lows cause those are exactly what the Seattle Seahawks OG retro uniforms colours used to be!

Its a good year for us skaters that we finally are able to buy sb dunks for retail. From the releases so far i love all 3 j-pack dunks, the malachites and the hyper royal-vintage greens. Simple sb dunks all the way! From the upcoming releases you mentioned the supersonics look beautiful. Thats a great colourway!

I loved the Futuras but sold my pair because I just couldn’t see me wearing them. The green and black celtics have been my favourite, my favourite colour is green and the quality on these has been way better than the court purples and others. My most worn though is the Big Money Savings - so versatile despite the mix of materials and I love the fact it’s unique

I'm not a fan of most crazy collab SBs, but I was very happy that I could pick up the Court Purple and the Chicago. I wanted both for years, and I thought I'll never ha e them...

Nike SB Dunk Low City of Style is 🔥🇫🇷

Got into sbs in middle school (early 2010s) had probly 7-8 pairs total they used to be like 60$-80$ retail and would go on sale way more than Jordan retros . During the blue box era they started making thin tongue sbs and eventually retooled the shoes as “dunk low pros” with -dunk low pro printed on the tongue . Small detail I know but it ruined the model for me . Fast forward to 2019 the night of mischief dropped Halloween is my favorite holiday and the details on that shoe made it an instant cop for me . I don’t love all the new gen hype but if a shoe a really want isn’t reselling for an insane price I will buy it .

I’ve turned my City of Style SBs into my dailys. Trying to wear down the canvas naturally to the red layer. The Phantom’s hold a special place cause I rocked em for the first time for the delivery of my son. My SB of the year so far tho is definitely the Futura. Definitely looking forward to the the Escargot SB’s & the Verdy’ for my wife.

The hype of SB Dunks are down a little which is good as a skater. They are sitting on shelves in skateshops which is nice to see. Obs the higher end collabs go fast but some of the more basic ones are easily getable.

when I got my court purple's they did have some QC issues as well, so they turned into a beater sb that I wear more often than say my Phillies or other sneakers. it helps that the white and black on the shoe makes them extremely wearable, and that the purple isn't too vibrant so it matches with other clothes

The PRod2s got me into sb’s. In the 2000s SB’s were poser shoes and in many ways they still are

Always entertaining and giving info on the best drops 🔥🫡📺 Imo SBs have always been good for skating with the extra padding and cupsole , similar to many popular brands , but some skaters like vulcanized soles tho and that’s why they like the blazers, vans etc over sb , it’s preference , Nike has had relationships with skaters before the sb department was created so they have a place in the sport . The gum soles (white, black, wheat, navy, grey, now burnt sunrise etc) are Perfect examples of good skate shoe that’s “cheap”(115$ or so) and easy to beat up.. I tried skating with the adidas forum 84 low adv other day and they were like bricks on my feet 😂 I agree with most here with icing your grails and not skating them. I have the Crenshaw , April’s, futuras etc .. and I won’t skate canvas shoes without some superglue on toebox I did start to skate the big money savings and switched them out cuz the materials so nice I don’t want to scuff the fuck out the toe box .. did that with my burgundy crush instead 🤦‍♂️

I’m glad reps exist as a skater. $40 a shoe compared to the reseller price of $300+. Skate just the same and last just the same as well without the guilt of ripping up expensive shoes.

I have the Rayssa Leal, the BMS, and the Futura Dunk SBs and love all 3. Like you though, I hate the fact that I only wore my Futuras for a total of maybe 5hrs and have that f**king crease already. I've worn the shit out of my Rayssa dunks yet not one crease and they still look brand new. Plan on picking up the Philly Dunks this week (granted you didn't mention them) even though I'm from Steeler Country. Lol. Definitely looking forward to copping the Verdy SBs and the Paris Olympic SBs as soon as they both drop.

I used to skate from the late 80's to early 00's. I cant speak for the entire skateboarding community but I skated in NJ/NYC and SB was considered like a sell out. Probably because people were used to established skateboarding brands. Thats not to say we didnt skate in regular Nikes but it was just another shoe.

All I wear are SBs...I like all the models. Lows, mids and highs. I have over 30 pairs of them in my collection and I can't imagine anything else. Sure I own some Jordans and blazers and Adidas but my bread and butter are sb dunks...at the moment my favorite pair to wear recently is my mummies ☠️💀 I'm really looking forward to those verdy fuzzy ones and the there's skate shop. I love the fuzzy ones like the grateful dead, mama bear and papa bear so I'm definitely gonna go for at least one of those!
