It’s a long-known fact that sharks prefer to avoid dolphins, They swim away quickly when they see them, especially grampus dolphins. Simultaneously, in the stomachs of some sharks were found parts of dolphins. How can it be that such fearless predators are afraid of the cute and playful dolphins? Let’s take a look at this.

Humans dumb animals down so they can feel better how they treat them. When I was growing up the saying was "be nice to dumb animals". The message was assuming they are dumb but be nice as it's kind. Now we are just touching the tip of the iceberg of the awareness, intelligence and emotional capacity of animals...we wasted so much time. Again, men have done the same thing to women. It was understood that women should not be present during political discussions as our feeble minds couldn't comprehend the subject matter.

This reminds me of a documentary in an aquarium where a shark co-existed peacefully with a small pod of dolphins. However, when one of the dolphins was going to give birth, the pod turned on the shark and killed it. They probably decided that having a shark in the tank was too much of a risk for the newborn.

Actually, dolphins are known as the bullies of the ocean. They gangrape their own and other species (sometimes including us) and harass porpoises, sharks and seals. They also kill baby porpoises for fun and play volleyball with baby sharks

@@CommanderM117 their ampullae of Lorenzini are not as sophisticated as dolphin's echolocation, sharks can detect other creatures lurking in the water but they cant recognize what kind of creature they are, they have to rely on visual confirmation, echolocation gave cetaceans a more clear idea of what they have in front (rocks, fish or dolphin)

When crossing the North Atlantic, I watch a large pod of dolphins accompanying my small tanker attack a giant manta ray of about 28' wing tip to wing tip (a sort of shark, in their eyes!). The dolphins quickly swam ahead of our ship, circled the manta, and then simultaneously leapt about ten feet in the air toward the manta so that they seemed to ALL come down on its back. The motion was rather like that of a water fountain in reverse. In half a minute, there was nothing left of the manta but blood, torn flesh, and foam. The pod soon returned to us. How I wish I had a camera to record it!! Yes, even if you're a Great White shark, you're dead meat if you are spotted by such a pod of dolphins.

I was fishing in Australia about 12 months ago when this Bull shark beached itself about 25/30 feet from where we were fishing. I thought thats weird , at first I thought it was a croc but no. A big Dolphin was chasing this shark and I can tell you the shark was scared, they don`t beach themselves , especially Bull sharks. A couple of moments later we spot what we assume was a female and a small baby about 50 meters away. I truly believed at the time that the big dolphin was protecting the baby. Now I`m sure.

This is very wrong understanding. In fact that dolphins are depressed when they taken out of their habitats and living under human supervision. Human just make a method to give them dolphins get rewards with food when they doing what the human want them to do. It maybe seems like training but the dolphins just do it in order to survive.

Wow. I always knew sharks avoided orcas and other larger whales. But I did not know that they are bullied by even the much smaller dolphins. Sharks just seem to be at a general disadvantage to mammals in the water.

The actual injury involved in ramming the underside of the shark is the bursting of the liver. In a shark, the liver runs along the length of the soft underbelly. It's a weak spot by design.

@@blossomingflower1119. I don’t know if it might be from a show or piece of media, however I know how it relates to sharks interactions with orcas. Orcas found ways to easily hunt and kill sharks, and orcas that hunted Great Whites preferred the Great Whites liver so that would become the only part they would eat. Soon Great White carcasses would be found with precision bite marks along their bellies with only their livers removed. As far as I know only orcas do this to sharks though and other dolphins don’t.
