When I was teaching in public school, it made me crazy that almost every time a new superintendent came in, there was a new curriculum we were supposed to use.
But we were in a public Montessori school. We didn't need a new curriculum. We already had one that is evidence-based and effective. We already knew what to do. What we could have used was support in implementing it with fidelity with the children in our high poverty district. We didn't need new leveled readers!
The Maitri Learning materials are timeless because they are designed to teach humans. Evolution actually hasn't changed our brains that much in the last few years. We don't have to be on a swinging pendulum based on district politics or trendy research. Our materials, our guided lesson plans are timeless.
