childhood friend last longer as we build more connection and memories with them and when we were young, 80% of our world revolve around having fun with them. in adulthood, new friends come and go, as 80% of our world revolves around our work/ significant other

Good topic. You will find, the only real friend you have is your mother so, look after her. Go to a local nursing home and volunteer and you will see...none of us have anyone watching our backs or friends when we are old.

when you see some one comment a " bo jio ? " insert minions banana meme and add " Nah jio " also, It's tiring to be personify a persona to attract some one. how long can you wear a mask for ? Just be yourself! your vibe will attract your tribe !

It's so true! I finally uds why I have lesser friends now. As I move towards being an introvert at times and extrovert at times, esp after covid. I do have a higher standard/criteria to mingle and make the effort to know the person. I became a 被动 person. Where I interact more after feeling the energy that the person is interested in knowing me as well. I guess it's just lessons these yrs, knowing I have not much energy to invest in a friendship n only picking friends w the same mindset as ze Liang. It's ok if we don't talk for a long while. As long as we r there when they need us. I will automatically walk away if I feel this person is high maintenance. At the same time I might need to work on myself, because I think there is only like 5% chance someone would approach me first n show interest in knowing me sadly. I use to be the organiser. I will usually step in if noone steps in n when I feel a need to bring ppl tgt. One day, I was tired n decided to test the grp if someone else were to take up the organiser role. But nope. It died. They just gathered among themselves. I lost the energy n motivation to pull things tgt since I don't feel fitted in their life.

as people age...the less friends and acquaintances they have. It is because people change, people move on in life and people pass away and you yourself change. In your 20's and 30's you may have the same group of friends and as you age that group changes to less than half until, there is only one friend (if you are lucky) then, in 70's and 80's you just want everyone to go away.
