Kai Havertz (like many elite team sports people) went to a sports-boarding school from about age 15 onwards (here in Germany). He was particularly noteworthy for wanting to get absolute top grades in his academic classes, and insisting on waiting a year to start a professional career so he could properly finish his A-levels. All-in-all, he seems to have been incredibly well thought of. It's nice to see him succeeding in London.

So he’s moving like every other DoF? Whether he does it under his bed or in the middle of the stadium shouldn’t affect the signings he makes, all he needs to do is address the issues in the squad in good time, and not to mess around with bs bids that get rejected

Trossard was a classic example of you can't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need. He's an interesting contrast with Martinelli. GM is a flat out speedster chasing down balls into space. Trossard isn't as fast as Martinelli, but with the ball in his feet, he flies.

Emiliano Martinez made crucial saves for Villa & that kept them in the game. This shows the importance of having a top goalie having a good game against top opposition. Against villa & Liverpool, Raya better up his game.

I agree. Rice has certainly elevated Arsenal to new heights. Havertz is also getting better. Saliba and Rice are most definitely most important players for us as should they both be injured, we would struggle

The only attribute I kept pointing out, I believe before preseason, was that kai understands space. Either getting into space or passing into space.. we haven't started seeing the latter cos when we do , we will start seeing alot of through balls for martinelli. That has died with xhakas departure

While Kai isn’t a player that “imposes” himself per se, he does make the runs into the right areas without the ball. I think the issue people have with him is his lack of creativity WITH the ball. His play style is the complete opposite to Xhaka where Xhaka always had the ball and created with it. Kai on the other hand moves and tries to create spaces for others to get the ball. It’s something different, I think if he gets goals and makes it easier for others to score then it works. I also agree with his point about Odegaard dropping back. It balances out the Kai experiment at the left “8/second striker”.

The argument he doesn't have a best position is arguably his best strength. A midfielder who can move into positions as a striker does gives us a degree of unpredictably in attack

It's incredible how Arteta and Xhaka turned our perception of GX around. In 2019 he was being booed off the pitch, but MA found something in him, and he found something in himself and he became such a dominant player. So good that people are saying that a player of the quality of Odegaard (who Arsenal flat out stole from Real) is being compared to him. I miss Granit and wish him well.

Wrong stat: Last 11 PL goals weren't scored by 11 different players, Havertz scored @Brentford & Luton. However the last 15PL goals were scored by 12 different players.

Winninf our CL group with a game to spare is a blessing! Rest Odegaard/Saka/Rice/Martinelli/Jesus/Saliba Villa are a different animal under Emery now, we have to stop them playing through Luiz! He was a monster against City. Not having Tomi AND the coach will be massive in that game. Zinchenko. We cannot press in their defensive 3rd or else they will play through us like city. The key is to pressurize their midfield and keep the ball out wide. They won’t miss the same chances they did against City so we have to limit their attack. First goal determines who wins.

We look good but still have a long way to go...i will not stop saying it..if the cone man doesn't improve his talent ID we have nothing significant to win..he messed with the goal keeper position which was not a big problem and now we have 2 keepers who are very very low on confidence and this could be what breaks the season..plus 1 injury to Rice and we are done out here..hopefully we can strengthen in January because the league is there for us to take..but as a long time supporter of arsenal i doubt we will strengthen significantly in January

Jesus is soo good that he should become a CAM rather than striker or box to box like Joelington. He’s so technically gifted and defends well too. Maybe next season he can become a cam if we find a pure 9

Problem (and it's a good problem) is that Arsenal have at least 3 if not 4 world class CAMs in Odegaard (I like him in the center rather than the right, but Arteta has forgotten more about football than I'll ever know), Trossard, Havertz, and, as you point out, Jesus. I guess what makes Jesus a striker instead of a CAM is how for up the pitch he presses. He attacks CBs instead of the goal, but he creates panic, turnovers, poor clearances. Jesus presses, CB panics, Rice gets the hasty clearance in midfield and back down their throats it comes. Trossard can be in there too, but he's fine on the left wing.

With all the links we have with defensive midfielders over the last few months I’m starting to believe that Partey will be moved on in January. I like what Arteta is trying to do to have great cover in every position he’s picking a starter for other teams but will be depth to Rice and cover if anything were to happen to him. If Partey was to stay the new midfikser would be Jorghinos replacement which is great

Last season, teams targeted the left side of our defense. This season, teams are targeting our right. Raya could have saved the 3rd goal. However, I find Saka should have been covering the right side of the defense. Remember how Madison beat him?

That’s not how football build up works… look at the Luton defence for Kai’s defence… in your head you would say why didn’t number 45 sprint that’s because it’s by design you don’t always have to track back but sometimes you get burnt for it.

You ask "Should Arsenal sign Palhinha". Well admitedly he is a good player and would fit in well but I'd rather see Fofana come in as a replacement for Partey and that Dragusin ( who looks like Kalvin Phillips) to bolster our defensive options would also be a great acquisition for us

@@philgeezy2888 to a standard but you have to remember raya plays how artetas wants, ramsdale does not. It’s kind of like being a smart student but you don’t do as the teacher says. Ramsdale and raya skill wise are the same but one is following the gameplan and one has already said he literally cannot he can barely even concentrate.

Idk why we still targetting midfield area, when we look at the list of our squad, we definitely stacked in that area. Not to mention there's a lot of loanee and academy players like nwaneri etc. If our budget is tight, just go all out at number 9 and proper backup for saliba. Hope that edu needs to set a priority right and don't create a similar GK situation again

When Timber got injured I said we don't have depth to win league, too many injury prone and Timber able to cover so many positions. Then Tommy looks brilliant and can cover back line; but I thought he won't last. Totally gutted it's true. So I still don't think we win league. I think Liverpool debut I open to change my mind in April 😃

He'd best have his A game on, n Gabriel too, not to mention Martinelli who will have to put in the shift defensively on the left. Bailey was a handful on the left against Man C yester-nyte. Bottomline, it's going to be tough for BOTH teams.
