गुवाहाटी 217 sq km, कानपुर 260sq km, बहुत ज्यादा फ़र्क नही है। फिर कानपुर में मेट्रो होगा, गुवाहाटी में नही। वाह भाई.... फिर 40लाख जनसंख्या होना जरूरी है मेट्रो के लिए। तो कोची, गोरखपुर जैसे सहरों पर यह नियम लागू नही होता, यह सिर्फ असम के लिए ही रखा है, है ना ? मानते है कि मोदीजी ने यहाँ बहुत काम किया है, फिरभी आज भी नॉर्थवेस्ट के साथ सौतेला ब्यवहार पूरी तरह रुका नही।।

That's.. we already are actually tier 1 city according to population cause it needs to be 1 lakh or more and we already had moved ahead of 1 lakh decades earlier even before delhi. Now we are 11 lakh plus.. then also why not fall under tier 1 city whereas we have all basic amenities!

What about those European cities which have less population than guwahati yet they have metros...

Because Europe Metro is expensive as compared to India, hence the cost is recovered in Europe. Tickets are cheaper in India than in Europe, so it becomes difficult to recover the cost in India. That's why population is necessary in Indian cities to make metro sustainable.

Because Europe have different standards of cities. In India, we have tier system for cities.

@@Inframation but the metro project could have undertaken sub urban areas around Guwahati from Jagiroad to Baihata and from Chandrapur or Mayong to Mirza or Boko. The pressure on ASTC and pvt city buses is quite high and many people commute to and fro these places almost daily

@@CreativitySimplicity Yes, but even if sub-urbans are included, population density is still an issue, which will not make Metro sustainable. As the gig city will develop, then there are chances of population density growing in the suburbs along with Guwahati. The 2 factors (city area and population density) which make metro sustainable can be solved by the development of this city. I think bus rapid system is more feasible than metro in Guwahati now.

हमने गुवाहाटी बहुत करीब से देखा है यहां के रास्ते, नाले, कीचड़, कचड़ा, आवर्जन, कृत्रिम बाढ़, गन्दगी और प्रदूषण यह है मुख्य समस्या।

Metro is compulsory in Guwahati. If metro can be built in Agra, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Patna, why not in Guwahati? Are you kidding me. Guwahati is far better than these places. I have been to almost all of them.👍🏻👍🏻 Guwahati me to metro hona hi chahiye. Aur Guwahati - outer Guwahati area is 330 sq km. Unofficial population of Guwahati and adjoining areas is almost 20 lakh.

What about other towns of Assam where there is no any scientific drainage,drinking water supply, parking place , extra lane for pedestrians, cycliing, playgrounds, wide two lane roads ,sewage disposal , street lights, public transportation, systems , etc, etc.Guwahati isn't only one & all for asaam
