It’s not the grades I am stressed about. It’s the disappointed look on my parents faces, they anger that they let out on me. Because deep down I know that I’m never going to use anything in life that I am “learning” right now. So yeah I’m not stressed about grades, I’m stressed about how my parents will react to my grades

Even though grades do help you improve but they can mentally impact someone and may make someone suicidal . So it is like a double edged blade , I do hope the future generation of parents understand on how hard and stressful it is to be a student and not everyone is a robot . Edit: This was written when I did bad in my exams a year ago. A year later, my results turned out to be much better. This is because I started studying everyday which helped out a ton . To all those people out there who almost or already lost hope. Keep holding on and switch your techniques. It is never too late to turn around!

I got kicked out of my high school because I had an F on all of my classes.

Being Asians like us, it's literally the end of the end of the world when we achieve a bad grade. Most believe a bad grade is a grade that's failing but but in Asian households a bad grade is basically anything under a 90. Be grateful of the grade and allow it to teach you a lesson to focus more and buckle down and get to studying.

What’s embarrassing for me is that most of the time I get low grades at school and sometimes in class the teacher says everybody’s score out loudly in front of the whole class and I get so embarrassed that everybody knows that I got a low score and this boy will keep teasing me 😒😔😭😣

It's not the grades , it's how I've always been good so now everyone expects me to keep getting good grades, it's my mother's disappointed face, it's her yelling at me for failing "stupid things"

Being asian, and having asian parents makes me have higher standards than others. Whenever I get 85 - 90 percent on tests it makes me feel horrible because my parents always expect the best like 95 - 100. Even though grades aren’t everything, to me it is. Even though I know my parents are proud I still feel terrible because I could do better. Sometimes I just want to cry myself to sleep because I feel like I’m not enough because I got a “bad” grade. Grades shouldn’t be everything, but it is still important. I think parents should encourage their children during tests instead of just expecting the best and not caring afterwards. I don’t want anyone to be like me with high standards. But my opinion isn’t always right but yeah.

So, I'm in 8th grade, I'm in this thing called "Elective Wheel". It's where you switch every quarter. This quarter I had Health, all you did in this class was read and take a test every week. Some of the words were really hard are to remember. It sounds easy, but this class is super boring and I sit near people who mess around a throw pencils at each other. (I get distracted easy). So, moving on. I have never had any grade lower than a B-. But now I have a C-, I had my finale today. I did an extra credit activity so I got four more points. I checked my grades an hour ago, it was still a C-, I went to see why it was a C- and it said I got 8% on it, I'm just guessing my teacher hasn't graded it yet, I studied really hard for this test.

Sorry but the amount of pressure we face makes us sure feel like it. I’ve been told before that if you fail your GCSE’s your life is basically over.

However, sometimes I got low grades and it make me depressed and having mental breakdowns every single day. Until I realized to not continue my studies. What sucked for me was that at my former school, they drilled it into my head that grades are everything, that if you don't get the best grades(finals), your future is dead since you won't make it to top universities That affected me psychologically simce i was so obsessed with getting the best grades that i had the sudden urge to unalive myself once i found out that i flunked my finals

I used to get around a 93-88 every year when I was younger the only thing that motivated me was my parents taking away my electronics. However starting high school my new motivation comes from getting into a good college and now I get 95-97 like every quarter

im in high school with a 3.3 gpa and literally all of my friends have like straight A's and start complaining when they get Bs, my parents think i genuinely dont care about grades and make me feel like garbage. my average test score for math last semester was a 64% no matter how hard i study i can never get anything above a low B

The problem is that I'm not interested in other things but science and art and you cannot achieve those things having some validity if you don't go through school, the problem is that I learn everything, I know every formula, every protein in every cell and every drawing technique, I'd get As on my test but my teachers are so stupid they use the worst ways of grading, it's the most subjective BS, sometimes I have all the answers in a test correct but they won't consider them if I'm not using the same exact formula, and if I try to explain why it's not a coincidence that the result of the equation is right, they just tell me to shut up or tell me they don't have time to correct the grade. That's why I hate it, because I've learned so much and I love it, but the teachers are arbitrary when giving grades, and the classmates that don't know anything and just cheat on every test get the right to be doctors or scientist, and I don't even though I know every miserable detail about every topic, it's ridiculous, idiotic.

I had about 12 subjects and passed 9 with Bs and Cs and only passed 1 A-Level and studied Business and IT in a University College. Now, I'm going from Retail to Office Work. Education is important but you don't need to go to a University to start a career, well except for certain careers like becoming a doctor or lawyer but seriously, most jobs only are interested in GCSEs, Maths and English being the most important but not essential in some jobs. But don't worry if you are failing your GCSEs, you can resit them again or go to a College to study and resit them. So it isn't the end of the world, I know it feels like that, I know that feeling when I failed my other 2 A-Levels but don't feel down about it, it is completely normal but you can strive to do great things, even with just GCSEs 😊.

i loked over my grades from the past few years and they keep decreasing. first it was 93% then 88% then 86% and now 81%. my father doesnt say anything but i know hes disappointed. this year i tried so hard. i stayed up al night and studied. its sick. i always tell my friends not to worry about grades and now look where i am. i want to cry but i havent cried in 1 month and i cant cry.

There's one thing that I noticed by reading some comments is that people are actually more afraid of their parents than of their grades putting a light on how parents basically failed themselves. The point of all of these is to make the child understand that having bad grades is not a good thing regardless the parents reaction and yet the message received is an conditional love. There is one thing NVC taught me is many educational method used are seen as conditional love in a child subconscient mind.

When we still went to face to face school it was way easier and got 95 until 98 grades my parents where very proud of me most of the kids like me hated school we where even happy when face to face classes finished but it got even harder when it was online when online class started i started skipping classes but after that got all 91 and down grades which was so bad I cried thr whole night knowing that I was a failure my dad said it was ok but i was still not buying it and that was only first grading i really stopped paying attention when it was second grading I passed everything late and now on my report card i have a blank subject. I already passed the activities I didnt do on that subject but they will give me that grade on third grading the will give the cards later so if i dont come back because of crying well im having a meltdown
