[Due to Editing errors this video had to be pulled down and re-uploaded, sorry for the confusion this may have caused]
This video is one that I did not want to make initially. However, due to the ramifications of the $107m plan, Federal Ag Minister Murray Watt announced on Saturday 11th May 2024 to phase out the Live sheep industry. I felt it was my duty to speak out about this plan, from the perspective of a person who has grown up on a Sheep farm in Regional WA, and as someone who will be directly affected by this plan.
This $107m plan intends to phase out Live Sheep Exports by 1st May 2028. In doing so, it will render smaller sheep blocks such as Erinvale useless and force many people in Regional WA to be left without a job. This will not just affect Growers but also Shearers, Roustabouts, Truckies, Shopkeepers, wool buyers, Stock Agents, Auctioneers, Primary School Teachers, Farmers Wifes, Butchers, Stockfeed growers, Mechanics, Ag Sales Rep, Dock workers, Farmhands, and REGIONAL AUSTRALIA AS A WHOLE.
I do not intend to lash out against the people in charge, or the city folk we feed. Rather, this is my attempt at shedding light on an issue of which I am merely scratching the surface.
Tensions in our industry are high right now, as are emotions. The mental health of our regional communities in Western Australia is hanging in the balance.
This video's intent is to spread the message of Rural WA to the rest of Australia, and a good portion of the world as well, that we need to keep our Sheep Industry alive and thriving. We will not back down against this Government that wishes to trade the welfare of our animals and regions for the votes of people in Inner-city Melbourne on the East Coast.
If you want to support the communities of Rural WA, please spread #Keepthesheep far and wide, to send a positive message to our leaders that we will not cow-tow to tyranny. It is crucial now more than ever to get behind our farmers and our regions.

I think ya explained the situation pretty well. Over here in the eastern states we don't want WA sheep coming over hear dropping our prices again. If the sheep are cheap the cattle price drops and so does feed grain/ hay prices.

Some people do not understand farmers. They conscript people to the army, they should also do so for farming so people understand where their food comes from.

The activist types don't care (just want to destroy society) and vego/vegans bleeding heart types basically see animals as deity's. Pretty hard to reason with people like that and will never be content with anything the government does.

You can try to justify live exports any way you want but no one is entitled to inflict cruelty or distress on any animal just because you make money from it , most farmers have a degree of care and compassion for their animals , overcrowding them on to ships where many of them die on the voyages which can take weeks without adequate water or food is just atrocious and you should be ashamed to be a part of such a cruel activity .

You are half correct. Yes, most of us have a degree of care and compassion for our animals. But we can agree to disagree on the sanitary standards of Australia's ships as opposed to our competitors overseas. You think it's bad now? then you'd hate to see the appalling standards of the live export ships from our competing industries overseas. Look up 'The Livestock Collective' on Instagram, or Facebook, and watch a few of their videos taken on the ships in 2024. Then compare that to the footage dating as far back as 2017 that activists are still using to promote their pitiful excuse of a campaign. And if you're still stubborn after doing so, go to Fremantle and physically get on the ship to see for yourself. I am PROUD to be part of the Australian sheep industry, and no keyboard warrior who's never stepped foot on a sheep farm or live export ship is going to change that.

The farmers don’t crowd the sheep on the boats. A different set of people have responsibility for shipping live animals.
