Profiling refers to the process where Cisco ISE identifies and categorizes the devices connecting to your network. Think of it like a bouncer at a party checking IDs before letting people in. When a device tries to connect, Cisco ISE examines various attributes of the device, such as the manufacturer, the operating system it runs, and how it communicates over the network. This information helps ISE determine the type of device it is-be it a smartphone, a laptop, a printer, or any other network-enabled device.
