His stance on saturated fats, cholesterol, and statins has been condemned by several health authorities which he believes is driven by big Pharma. Malhotra's involvement in public health campaigns and his controversial positions, especially regarding COVID-19 vaccines, are all reasons why he is tonight's guest! For the honours component of my degree, I did a study of hospital food in London Hospitals. The title was the social and economic effects of dietary change in Hospitals. The Hospitals that did change the food they served from crap to healthy food found that peoples wounds healed quicker they slept better they were more alert there was no food waste the use of painkillers and laxatives dropped drastically and people were getting better quicker. Of course this saved the hospital quite a bit of money.

About 8 years ago I changed physicians by default when I moved. My former MD insisted that I start statins because my cholesterol was 225. I said no. She said that she couldn’t treat me any longer so my loss by default was not a big deal. My new MD did a carotid artery scan and said that I had very low risk and that he wasn’t worried one bit about my cholesterol thus no need to take statins. We need more MD’s like this man and the one who’s sounded the horn here about statins. Finding a good MD is a crap shoot these days.

Dr. Malhotra is a hero. I mean there were many people before him that knew a high sugary carb diet is bad and leads to the variety of modern day diseases. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I am jealous that the UK and Australia has way better care for Type 2 Diabetes and acknowledges that Keto and Low-carb diets can reverse Type 2 Diabetes. In the US, they will try to take away the license away from a doctor or Dietician that actually helps people get better. It sucks. The Medical Industrial Complex exists in partnerships with big agricultural junk food companies and insurance companies to keep people sick and make more money. Such corruption has tainted the majority of University researchers and doctors who sit on important boards.

I also get skin reactions from sugar but I never put it together with veins and blood vessel inflammation .. sinus inflammation, headache, puffiness, stiffness could also fit. @@susanstewart1402 In my case either sugar directly fuels the immune system (and then it reacts to an infection OR it is autoimmunity reaction) OR it fuels some pathogens in the digestive tract, which triggers the immune system. @@penelopemarshall6320 That is really interesting information. I associate sugar reactions with going out or going to family and friends for dinner, also the rare time we purchase a pie or ice cream. At home, we do our own baking using all ingredients from the health food store, and I am not recalling sugar reactions with home baked goods. You are really making me think and I believe you are correct. Thank you so much! We will immediately cease any non-organic sugar consumption. I hope this helps other people too. I wonder what is up with some people having reactions to fructose in fruit. Maybe they should compare with organic fruit.

@@susanstewart1402 yes it would be interesting to see, mire study needs to go into this. Another thing that concerns me is the GM effect on fruits. I was given a statin to lower my cholesterol and the side effect was muscle weakness which caused my Para thyroid to take calcium from my teeth and bones to stop my muscles from contracting(like Charlie horse) which caused two parathyroid glands to keep growing and become tumors and needed to be removed. From then on I changed md's and was told to buy plant sterile and take co enzyme q 10 which builds the factory in each cell.

Now we're finding the connection between lowering cholesterol and hastening alzheimer's. Stay away from statins. Cholesterol plays an important role in the body or the liver wouldn't produce it. Organs are made of fat and cholesterol. We've increased disease and decreased longevity by avoiding them. What's happening to your liver if you're messing with it's normal function of producing cholesterol? 🤔🤫🤐 Great guest, horrible facts, grievous world. Bidding you all hope 🙏🏻

Great interview, Kim. Many thanks to you for bringing Dr. Malhotra onto your show and for your skills as an interviewer! You ask the right questions and then you listen to the answer without interrupting! Seems so simple, but it's surprising how many interviewers have trouble with the listening part! And big thanks to Dr. Malhotra for coming on your show and for the work he is doing!

I wish we had better informed consent in America. Thank you for speaking out though. Its nice to hear that not every doctor wants to prescribe drugs all the time and that sometimes the drugs that are prescribed don't actually help us.

My nutritionist friend says 9 of 10 people respond with some variation of, "I'm not going to do that." I'm sure that discourages doctors from dedicating much time to good advice even if they believe it to be true.

On Statins, If you are APOE 4/4 or 3/4 they can be extremely harmful. Those that are APOE 2/2 or 2/3 can withstand the awful side effects much better and tend to develop problems with muscles and joints before they feel the negative effects on cognition(i.e. Alzheimers). Please stay far away from them! And consult Functional Medicine Board Certified Physicians instead of your run-of-the-mill MDs! I care about ppl that's why I and posting these comments! Fyi thx 🙏

You're right that Functional Medicine Drs are the best, as they seek the cause of a disease rather than just treating the symptoms. If you're going to take a statin (I said no to my own Dr's recommendation), then it's imperative that you also supplement with CoQ10. (I doubt that Drs tell you this, but it's important because statins destroy your body's CoQ10, which could be harmful to your heart.)
@jilesbo9175
@jilesbo9175 6 ай бұрын
@@JustMe-vn5pqIt's actually much more complicated than that. They abolish not just ubiquinol(CoQ10), they abolish Selenium and Selenoproteins(like glutathione), K2, Dolichols(DNA synthesis), inhibit Abeta Clearance in the brain, increases inflammation, prevents neurogenesis and neurite outgrowth and so much more. At the bare minimum you need to take Coenzyme A, CoQ10, Selenium, Vitamin K2 and Cod Liver Oil and that still wouldn't mitigate the damage. It's that bad. Anyway have a good day or evening and thanks for the support 🙏

He’s a voice of truth. The focus should be carbohydrates, sugar and the inflammation that results via too much TRPV1 -> hyperinsulinemia-> more TRPV1-> lipid oxidation by too much TRPV1 on mitochondria and too much TRPV1 on cells that put too much sugar into cells without using the insulin receptor. Too much TRPV1 -> hyponatremia and hypoosmolality that then stimulates too much TRPV4 found in atherosclerosis with klf4 as main agents of dangerous inflammatory plaque in the artery with a thin fibrous cap over the lesion at high risk of rupture and then stroke. Why aren’t TRP channels taught in medical school? The pharmaceutical industry use them as the GLP receptor agonists such as semaglutide work by stimulating TRPV1! But consider over stimulating TRPV1 and consequently insulin and the inflammatory process is set in motion.

If people would quit all processed foods and eat a simple, low carb diet of real foods, most disease and chronic conditions would subside. Add in some intermittent and water fasting and you're in really good shape. It's actually pretty simple.

When I realised I had a huge addiction to sugar back in 2011 I found a PDF document online written by the U.K. scientist John Yudkin whose work showed that sugar appeared to correlate to heart disease. I’m sure this doctor knows his work. After Yudkin published his work the sugar lobbies came after him and the ‘reduced fat’ fad in sugary foods came out in the 80s.
