It's kinda weird watching this clip after the podcast Bobby did with Ari Shaffir where they talked about Natasha. I'm sure it's all water under the bridge but it's still new to me after I JUST heard the story a couple days ago

I think Bobby will eventually be known for this channel and vlogs/ clips more than anything else. His stand up is ok but there are loads of good stand ups now. Watching him do and talk about normal everyday things is more funny.

Bobby is funnier off the cuff than on stage. Anytime he knows he has an audience he loses a lot of his spark. You can see it in any of his stand-ups. Plus repeated jokes.

It's not just that there are "so many ways to make it" ... the real problem is that all creative fields are suffering from Greshem's Law, in which "bad money drives out good". There are just too many people these days trying to be musicians, artists, comedians, writers, singers, game designers, essayists, etc. There is a noticeable upturn in the amount of mediocre "talent" due to the technology and platforms that we have today which allow hopelessly average "artists" to share their products around the world in a matter of minutes. Just look at all of the "same sounding" music that's out there today--it's alarming, compared to the way music was disseminated decades ago. Look at all of the trash "novels" being self-published on Amazon; 99% of them are unreadable crap. Everyone and their brother has a KZfaq channel where they are doing their "art"--whatever it is--and building audiences of idiots who don't know any better. And every year, the standards for what is good drop another couple of points. Most of the young comedians today are terrible, not least because their world view lacks any kind of uniqueness. It's just sad. From the latest comic book movie knock off, to the next Nickelback-sounding band or "mumble rapper"--it's all just a giant pile of mediocre crap ... and no one seems to notice or care, because most people have forgotten how to even identify unique creativity and true artistic vision. And so "culture" just accepts the trash as the "new cool".

Natasha nailed it. There are still mega audiences but there are many more and better micro audiences than there used to be. You aren't going to 'make it' like the old days, but you'll do alright and who could rightly ask for more than that?

I've never been further south than Wisconsin. I really want to see LA and I'm going to the Comedy Store. I've heard so many cool stories from the podcast circle that's worked there. I won't yell "George has a pink dick" if Bobby is there. 😉

I think Bobby knows his limitations. That's why he doesn't have a special. He doesn't have one because he's afraid he will fuck it up. He probably would.
