Why football boot sizes are so different from big brands like Nike, adidas and PUMA? Why does a UK7 in Nike football boots feel so different compared to UK7 in adidas sizes? Today we walk about how to get the right size and be better at choosing the correct size for your new football boots - no matter which of the big brands you decide to wear next. Getting the right size for your football boots might be difficult, especially because the sizing with each football boot brand is unique and there are no "universal size guides" when it comes to football boots. In this video you will get real life tips and discover epic football boot life hacks on how to get the right size as our hosts discuss the differences of football boot sizes from the big brands on the market: Nike, adidas and PUMA.
In general, finding your football boot size should be an easy task, just get your own size, right? Unfortunately the brands are making it pretty difficult for us footballers as, for example, a pair of UK7 football boots feel so different with each big brand. For footballers, getting the right football boot size is crucial as boots that are too big (or too small) will not feel as comfortable compared to a perfectly fitting pair of football boots - which of course affects your performances on the pitch. So in today's video, we want to give you some great tips and advice on how to get the right size for your football boots, especially if you're planning on switching brands and jumping to a whole new universe of sizing. A good rule of thumb is to find your perfect size for each big brand: figure out what your perfect Nike, adidas and PUMA football boot sizes are and you've already come a long way. However, keep in mind that you might end up with a different size for each brand - as crazy as it sounds!
Our last tip on how to find the perfect boot size is to try on as many different boots as possible. Find a football store in your city and every once in a while spend a bit of time trying on different football boots from different brands.

This is a great video. Thank you for discussing this topic. It's so frustrating when you order boots that don't fit as you anticipated. I live in an area with one decent football/soccer shop so they don't always have the brands or sizes I'm seeking. I often order via ebay or online shops and sometimes I've had to resell the boots after playing in them. Puma is very frustrating with their sizing. I think the shape of the toebox has a lot to do with it. Nike and Adidas seem more consistent from version to version but I often feel these brands don't look out for wide footed players. Thanks again. Keep up the good work!

When I first bought my nike boots it was SOO TIGHT and it was SIZE 11!!! I recommend to stay with one brand if you want to save the trouble, but if you want to explore, do that too

I had my tiempo IVs in EU 43, then I switched to Tiempo Legacy in EU 44, and now my MagistaX Proximo II are 42,5. All of them fit perfectly. Same with Adidas, Ace 15.3 Leather in 44 and Ace 16.1 synthetic in 42 2/3. The sizing is complete madness, sometimes it takes weeks of ordering and returning shoes...

In my experience, I have subconsciously judged my boots almost entirely on how nearly the length and width matched my foot shape haha. if all models had an option that was correct for my foot shape I would have a field day😂

Bought some ADIDAS messi (leather) boot in size 11 UK which i’ve thought felt slightly too big with regards to the length. It was quite a ‘narrow’ boot so the width was never really an issue although I had to wear very thick sock. Then I bought a PUMA purespeed SL in size 9.5UK which fitted me perfectly. I bought this boot online and could only fit it once I received it. Amazingly this boot fits 100% and I dnt know why I opted for this size (I think it might have been a clearance sale and it was the only size the had available) but it worked out perfectly. I then got a pair of ADIDAS ACE 16.3 (synthetic) in a size 10 UK because I could feel that the leather messi boots were slightly too big. This was a big mistake as these boot turned out to be way too small and resulted in me getting terrible shin-splint within minutes while playing in these boots.... Then there was a clearance sale on the ADIDAS ACE 16.2 (synthetic). So being adidas I thought ok since my messi (something) boot was in leather and a size 11UK and the leather stretching over time the synthetic will not stretch and that the synthetic ace 16.3 in size 10 were too small. I opted that the size 11UK in the ACE 16.2 should be the size for me... however it turned out that these boot were way too big in length and width. I tried to wear 2 pairs of socks but I got horrible blisters under my big toe because of too much movement inside the boot. I fitted bulkier innersoles so it seems a bit better but the boot somehow still feels too big for me... Now... ADIDAS has recently relaunched the Predator ‘accelerator’ electricity and I again can only buy these online. These boots are very expensive so I would like to get the size right. I think I will have to opt for a size 10.5UK considering by past experiences with Adidas and also considering that these are leather boots aswell and will stretch a little bit over time.

I've gone and worn a Mizuno Basara 101 Japan and a Morelia II (Indo) in both size 260mm (US 8, UK 7) and they fit me perfectly. I recently bought the Rebula V1 (Indo) in the same size and felt it was probably half a size bigger. Like I should've gone with a 255mm and I would have been happier. I hate non-universal sizing. This is why I almost always stick to Nike boots because I know I'm a size 7.5 US for the Hypervenom and Mercurial lines and an 8 US for the Tiempo and Magistas.

On the adidas website all the sky stalker pack cleats say that they are the 18 models, including the nemeziz and x models. Is this a mistake?

I have the same sizing issue between nike and adidas. Ive noticed that im usually a half size smaller in adidas than nike. Which is really rough for me, because i wear US13 in nike (easy) and US12.5 in adidas (LOTS of hunting to find a pair).

The adidas X's in a 10 1/2 US were a little too wide but perfect at the front however I got my hands on a hard to find leather X in a 10 US and they fit perfect width wise and stretched out to then be perfect at the front.

I went from the Nike hypervenom 1 to the adidas X 15.1 primeknit and they were way too long. But I was too excited and didn't notice until I wore them a few times, so I wasn't able to return them. It led to an uncomfortable season. They are still in decent condition, but I just can't wear them :/

I have a foot lenght of 28cm, this is a 45 in my Hypervenoms. I ordered a pair of Nemeziz (on Unisportstore) and looked up the lenght in cm and 28cm was a 46 here. When I got the boots, they were way too big. Now I‘ve a Nemeziz sized 44 2/3 (27,1 cm) and they fit perfect. So 28cm in a Nike boot are not 28cm in an Adidas boot. You‘re amazing guys!

I have a little problem with my Hypervenoms, my physiotherapist and I came to the conclusion that I probably got injured (ankle) because of the Hypervenom's soleplate. I love the upper though but the first flywire cable on the outside also hurts my little toe when I tighten it too much. So I might want to chance to another (more stable) soleplate. I have always worn Nike and I don't know if I want to chance that or not. So do you guys have any advice for me?

Unisport, i have a 13cm wide left foot and a 14.5 cm right foot and my left foot is 24 cm long and my right foot is 22.5 my instep is 7cm on the left and 8 on the right. i have trouble finding boots that are wide enough for me and meet in the middle because my feet are really weird I am a 8.5 uk nike size and have been wearing magista obras. Is there any boot that is super wide and has modern features because i had to wear my old boots all the time to stretch them and it was painfull. Have you got any recommendations for what boot i should get for the start of the spring?

On the Adidas website they say the newest Nemeziz colour way (black, red and gold) is called 18.1. Is there any difference between that colour way and the older ones that are called 17.1?

im using adidas 46 EU which is 295 cm japan, it fits perfect as all other adidas models. HOWEVER when i try to buy nike, 45,5 should be 295 cm japan and it fits way too tight that it hurts, and 46EU is basically too big. So im basically forced to use adidas.. im sad

I have so much boots the differnce is signifikant. I have a European 40,5 normally in adididas, but pantofolas, cinquestelle and diadora brasil i have to go to 40. In the magista line i have to go half size up to 41. In the Morelia MiJ line i go to 40, but morrlia mii i go to 40,5.

wow you have so small feed. i think the size of your feed influences the way you play the game. i have size 47 and im 1,94. Im playing as a winger in germans 4th league. When i had size 44 it was much easier to dribble the ball close to my feet with max pace. now i can only do this with a basketball cuz my frontfoot is to big. Same goes for when i shoot with the outside of the foot. back in the days i used my whole foot. now i would hit the ground and get an injury,

I bought the Nike Tiempo Legend 7, let loose boot from your site. I ordered in size 41, because that was the size I had in my Nike mercurial veloce. My veloce boots was fitting me perfect, maybe a little to small, but I did not feel it. But when I tried on the Tiempo, they were way to short in the length, and to wide, because I have really slim feet.
