Fleapit was never meant to be on the NES. It was actually an arcade game, and was running on Rareware's unreleased Razz Board. The game was canceled after the closure of Zippo Games. It was a couple years later that the two brothers, John and Ste Pickford, would pitch the game known as "Plok" to Software Creations. They showed gameplay of Fleapit to the company and they started to work on the game. Since nearly all of Fleapit's assets were now lost, they had to make Plok from scratch using what they remembered about Fleapit. Software Creations decided to let the Pickfords keep the rights to the Plok IP.

There ARE Plok fans... And "I" am one of them dammit!! Seriously... It was THE most unique platformer at the time. It had sweet music, atmospheric art style, a one-of-a-kind gameplay mechanic and even humor. The stories premise was a little simple i admit but considering the alternatives were: Defeat the evil genius because he's "evil" within 10 minutes... with no text or dialog. Rescue the princess from another castle... again... and again... and again... I'd rather play the Red guy that can "DISMEMBER HIS OWN LIMBS AND USE THEM AS BOOMERANG'S TO KILL ENEMIES" and take back what was stolen from him. *whew* Those Bobbin bro's though... gave me nightmares *shudder* Giant blue circus toads with rows of chainsaw teeth just spitting them at you like projectiles, along with that boss theme... That was some nightmare fuel back in the early days of gaming just like the "Boreworm" from splatterhouse 3.

It's pretty tragic, but thankfully they are still very active on their twitters!

I watched the Game Grumps play Plok! years ago, and I thought to myself, hey this game looks like a hidden gem!

I discovered bubsy 2 years before plok. and that was a HUGE mistake. Plok is a good game. i love the soundtrack to BITS. *cough cough, tim follin, cough cough* and believe me. i am NOT going to purchase bubsy, but plok2 for sure if it ever gets made.

Put Plok on SNES Online, Nintendo! You have Spanky's Quest, Claymates, and Prehistorick Man on there, so the whole "That game is too obscure to put on SNES Online" argument goes right out the window...

It's not fair that Bubsy get a sequels, but not Plok... This is insane!!! I would to love more about Plok's story and the rest of the characters. Now that Bubsy is still owned and got paid, what new game will come next for him?

To jazz Jackrabbit defense (Green rambo bunny with the blue gun at 1:13) there wasn't a 2D sides roller in the 90's for pc gaming. So he was our alternative for pc gaming. His sequel improved alot. Still awesome games from the creators behind horizon, gears of War and killzone. But plok still deserved better.

Bubsy is good. The problem is, he has aged badly. it wanted to be a difficult platform game, but because of its level design, which wanted to be fast, and have a lot of exploration, but the game focused more on jumping than speed, and like games that need to be fast, difficult, and having exploration nowadays rely much more on dash. bubsy, only had the option to glide, run and jump, they ended up not getting used to its gameplay, mainly because with the emergence of the Internet, the passwords of all phases ended up being published, so people ended up just playing the 3 first chapters (without exploring almost anything of the phases and saying that he died unfairly, being that he was being too fast knowing that he could die because of that), and they get the password for the last phase and say: ready, zerei. without trying to get used to the gameplay. those people who say that bubsy is the worst game in the world, don't realize that bubsy is made for certain people, and not for others. and also many think that bubsy is bad just because of the third game. and I have to warn you, that after the first game, the games were made by other people.

At first, when I saw bubsy, I thought he looked like a mildly altered version of Tails.

If I'm sure about this or not in asian releases of the super nintendo plok was renamed to "Sock!"

The part bubsy was made out of money is a complete lie bubsy was created because Michael Berlyn ( bubsy’s creator) wanted to make a platformer game and played sonic for research. Also bubsy 3d is the fourth bubsy game fractured fury tales is the third.

Bubsy was not born for money,he was born because his creator,Michael Berlyn,had been wanting to create a video game character inspired by the Looney Tunes cartoons and the 20s and 30s cartoons for a long time,however,Accolade was responsible for making the character It became that bad,not for nothing,starting with the second game Michael left the company disappointed by how they had converted Bubsy from a Bugs Bunny type character to a crude copy of Sonic. I also know that you made the video years ago, so I don't know if you still agree with what you said in it,although in the same way,yes,Plok is a great game and it's good that in recent years it has gained the recognition it deserves
