It's not about megapixels, dynamic range, RAW, LOG, LUTs, cinema cameras, blurry backgrounds, or being cinematic. It's about capturing moments of life and reliving memories. Photography and camera gear have magic powers. The walls of our house are filled with these memories and moments of our life. Markus Rothkranz and Cara Brotman are characters in our movie of life ... a movie full of romance, adventure, science fiction, drama, love, travel, and of course portrait photography. Every photo is a wedding photo. This is what photography is about. Love and relationships are one of the most important things in life. Romance, love and relationships should be key themes in real life that makes life worth living. Inspiration, motivation and photography skills are made for each other. Motivational videos and inspirational speaches are right up there with wedding photography and full frame cameras, or APSC crop sensor cameras or MFT M43 micro four thirds cameras or even 1 inch sensor cameras or even camcorders. I know what you mean Markus. A couple of years ago i lost my Mom and Dad just a couple of weeks apart. They were married for 64 yrs and had four children. When my siblings and i were looking through their photos we discovered over 4,000 photos. There were lots of photos of them when they were kids with their families as well. Not once did my siblings and i mention the quality of the photos, we just had a day of good laughs, good cries, and good stories and memories. I Love You Mom & Dad.

You are so lucky to have Cara. For 11+ mintues you took my mind off or my right knee pain. I have lost interest in recording because of my arthritis in my neck and knees. Soon I will have a right total knee arthoplasty which will put me in KZfaq hibernation for somtime. I need your prayers. Thank you Markus 225 likes now

Agree. Totally. When my wife had our firstborn I decided to buy an APS-C camera(that's what I can afford) so 20 years from now she'll have GOOD photos of herself and not washed up blurred photos from a phone. Nowadays when I take our photos to be printed at the local photo printer the manager NOTICES and remarks how good they look and I'm still using the kit lens. Photos are memories framed in time and we save them so they'll won't be lost.

Wow Marcus and Cara, I have watched so many of your videos, and I think this is probably your best so far. Its real and from the heart, and the love you guys have for each other really tangible. Let me also add that one of the reasons I follow your channel is because you manage to capture images that would feature in any high fashion glossy magazine, and you do it with equipment that most photographers would dismiss. Having pictures of moments are indeed underrated. It was only after my dog Buddy that i was fortunate to care for in his last 10 of maybe 16-18 years of his life pass this easter that i printed off four pictures of him. With these four pictures capturing him at play and happy I can remember him during his happies rather then that last hours of his life. Without them i would be even more of a wreck.

Perfect way to describe it. I print some as well and hang them on a shower line stainless cable from Ikea with little clips and change them out each month or so so we can see the images every day. Love your work and your passion together!

As always, I'm inspired by (both of you) in your words and images. Photography has the power to span the years that separate generations, initiating conversations that might otherwise never happen. Thanks for the reminder to decorate our walls with memories, and to always have a photo album handy at gatherings. In the course of our busy and distracting lives we sometimes struggle to have a meaningful conversation with older or younger loved ones. Having photographs as something in common never fails and conversation becomes interesting, even stimulating. 😊

Beautiful! I have so many photos that are memory art like these. Sorting through them will take a long time, but that process is also extremely enjoyable. One thing I do every year is present my children with a book of photos of them from that year. It's about 20 pages, and they each get their own copy with a note from me in the front talking about the memories inside, how they are such a delight, and my dreams for their abundant futures.

It's actually awesome when someone close to you is a model. It's such a hassle to do photoshoots with other models. I only do photoshoots with other models when I'm getting paid to do a portfolio photoshoot. Mostly because the model in my family knows how to model, it makes it easier on the photographer when it's not a newbie.

Markus, Cara you guys were in St. Lucia. When you were there, if you looked across the water you would see the other island of St.Vincent. That is where i was born. It did belong to Great Britain, but i believe they are now self governing. I just love you guys, i love hearing you talk about nothing. God i love these two. It seems many forget that photography captures a moment in time. Sure we love the art of photography, but the reality is for the most part, we’re blessed to live in a time where we don’t have to rely on an artist to paint a memory for us , we can capture it ourselves.

Wow what an amazing video! I’m old school and started my photography back in the early 80s where printing photos was part of the passion. Fast forward to present time and with digital and mirrorless systems I still print photos for my portfolio and for framed prints on my wall, it is a lost art as Cara states that I refuse to let go. I enjoy seeing my photos as I sit and wait for memory cards to upload or simply taking a break from editing, it certainly takes me back and feel blessed to have created those memories that now live on my walls

love this, in this digital age i think print is more powerful than ever. as you said people take pictures all the time and almost never look back through them. even then looking at a huge print on the wall is an entirely different experience. i think it forces you to respect the art more and give it your full attention. loving this kind of content from you
