German should give up any hope of getting back their gold from the Fed. Why don't they learn from the Chinese. Buy it back from the market. The Chinese buy thousands of tons of gold each year. It takes only several years to buy them all back. It only costs them some worthless paper. Why not?

I've been listening to David Morgan for years and he's always been a solid and sensible analyst of the market and things economic but until this interview I had no idea he was such a progressive and erudite speaker on matters philosophical. In this interview David demonstrates that there's more to success than mountains of stuff and that smart people are really searching for value as opposed to price. Thank you David for revealing this side of yourself.....much respect!!

In Australia, our Banking Act allows government, via the GG, to order its citizens to send privately owned and purchased gold bullion and coins to The Reserve Bank. This would be done during a currency crises etc. No mention is made of silver or other precious metals. Banking Act in question was passed 1955-9.

Personally there seems to be enough "noise" around atm to suggest that this year will be a game changer for Gold n Silver, the argument for higher prices is extremely compelling. I am a sceptic as well but my gut is telling me that this year will be HUGE. I am all in for Silver..

J.Leblanc, yes we came off the gold standard in 1971 and it was Nixon who passed the bill. Whether or not the private bankers who own the federal reserve had any influence in his decision could be up for debate. In any case, our debt has skyrocketed since 1971 and the value of our dollar decreasing at high rates as a result. I agree with you, I don't blame the people either and corruption at the highest level is caused by a few. 1% of the pop takes in 70% or so of world gdp. I blame them.

David is a very intelligent man and I usually think he is right on the money. The Gold I really believe it is not there - no way it would take 7 years to ship it back. Silver I think 40 is top end this year - looking at my own research and graphs - 2014 is the year for Silver $75 - $100 very possible.....

This is funny about silver at $48 in 2013. David Morgan's still TOO enthusiastic, I see. LOL One thing's for sure, he - and others like him, so called experts - are NOT good at predicting the market. Do agree about German gold, and def about Gen Y. Morgan's right on about that.

Another spin to consider on the German gold story is that these people never run for the exit. Its not their M.O. They have inside information and plan well ahead. Can you imagine the panic in the stock market if news broke that Germany asked for the IMMEDIATE return of all their gold? Nothing stops them from "amending" this agreement next year once the story has fallen nicely off the radar. Like a chess game, they are simply moving their pieces into position, in the least obvious way possible.

I agree with you to a point.I wouldn't go as far as to say 1 German worker equals 10 American workers. The workforce ethics of the German worker is not something an average person thinks about or knows.I've always known that. However, you're missing the mark by comparing American workers. It's the French,Spanish,Greek and Italian workers you should be comparing. How many hours a day do you think they really work? They're going to keep sucking Germany's economy until they finally collapse.

Frankly, I think you have it wrong, David. The last thing the Bundesbank wants is more gold. Their priority is keeping the euro together and maintaining German export markets. They might fail, ultimately, but they know that return of all that gold will only hurt their position. And a trade war over gold? No way. It will be southern Europe starting trade wars, not northern Europe. The Bundesbank was forced into demanding gold by the german parliament. But they are stalling.

Precisely. labor in general is the #1 resource to any country. That's why China is fast becoming the largest economy (in terms of GDP) in the world. Germany, despite its limited population of 80 million people, has strong work ethics and a culture that rewards engineers and scientists. In North America, these same people are portrayed and discriminated against as nerds or other dumb shit.

Why can't Germany get its gold back? It's pretty Obvious they don't have it. it's been sold, but the big question is, how many times did they sell the same gold bar. 10, 20, 100 times, it's only a problem if the owner wants it back. So now they have to go to the Market and buy it at today's prices, if every country demanded their Gold back at the same time......BANK HOLIDAY It's just like Ned Flanders trying to get his Lawn Mower back.

Can't find silver to buy at spot. The market for paper contracts is so much larger than the physical that it's pretty much meaningless. I think the movement upward for PMs is inevitable, and possession will be everything when the currency war heats up and the shit hits the fan.
