It’s getting wild by the day. The prices of homes are quite ridiculous and Mortgage prices has been skyrocketing on a roll(currently over 7%). Sometimes i wonder if to just invest my spare cash into the stock market and wait for a housing crash or just go ahead to buy a home anyways.

I get such worries too. I'm 60 and retiring early. Already worried of the future and where its headed, especially in terms of finances and how to get by. I'm also considering making my first investment in the stock market, but how can I do so given that the market has been in a mess for the majority of the year?

In my opinion, it was much easier investing back in the 80s but it’s a lot trickier now, those making consistent profit in these times are professionals reason I’ve been using an advisor for the past 3 years to consistently build my portfolio in preparations for retirement.

All true the average pension for a city or state worker after 20 years is about 90k a year till they die and they pay zero into it.

@@cataldoschiavuzzo282 You know, sadly that is very true. But just to add, I had a long time neighbor across the street from me when I lived in Logan Square and he just up and abandoned his home. He told me it was just so much cheaper and safer for him and his family to file for bankruptcy and just walk away. After a lifetime in Chicago he moved to Kentucky and started his life over again. He had land there and built a new home on it. My jaw just dropped. But he is a much happier person today. Just wow! I moved out some years after that. I will never go back. All of my neighbors and friends and family have all left Chicago. I can't believe it. I have no one there after a lifetime. I will be 66 this month. Will never go back. It's just memories now. Chicago is such a miserable dump now.

It's happening everywhere, not just Chicago. I live in a suburb in north Columbus and they increased my property value by 150K so they get more taxes. My home is not worth what they claim. It's a scam to continue wasteful spending
