The thing that needs improving for cruising personally is one, the sense of speed, two, the feel/drive of the car, and three, the speed of the A.I cars need to go up and match the speed limit and not be stuck at 30mph.

That is a lot to do with the oversized roads. I was on the highway in real life and there was no one around me and I did 120+ mph and it didn't really feel fast. But when I did 120+ in an HOV lane with traffic in regular lanes, I'm passing then at 40mph faster, the road wasn't wide open, it felt much quicker. But I was only going the same speed.

It's been a like 45 days since i got it and it got boring so fast . I just enjoy more Gran Turismo 7 for cockpit view driving since every car feels different and real , when i drive on Forza games it just feels the same only the sound of the car changes , sorry but it's true 😶

Cars in Horizon 1 had sort of a stalling effect. You cant just give it gas and take off. You need to clutch in, get the revs up and then you can drive off. If you floor it without any clutch input, the car will lurch forward and stop abruptly.

Not going to Happen, Sorry, the current Chief Creative Director, Torben Ellert (who Replaced Mike Brown, with "Rally Adventure" as his first main Credit), has openly stated that PGG are not going to do a purely Urban Map as they do not work at all well with Forza's Handling Model, Skyscrapers cause a lot of Performance Issues with the current Graphics Engine (and given how broken the new Engine is, PGG, IMO, would be very wise to just make FH6 on the current Engine as at least it actually works) cause severe licensing issues with the more "High End" Car brands, driving at speed in heavy traffic is not fun at all, and Cities are just too boring, ugly, and Generic.

As much as I agree with Torben on that one, I am also the First to admit that FH5's Map is absolutely *Abysmal* ! it is Old, it is Ugly, Just so Filthy Dirty, Overgrown, Run Down, Rusty, and Empty, it feels like it has been abandoned ever since the Daleks invaded back in 1964! even the Golf Course is completely Overgrown! it is like Driving through an Episode of "Abandoned Engineering" but nowhere Near as Interesting.. it is just ...*Depressing* ! It is as Flat as a Concrete Pancake, the Road Layouts make no sense, it is utterly Barren (all because Mike "not even a Car Enthusiast" Brown only cared about Battle Royale!) the Course Design is Abysmal (due to the Non-Sensical Road Layout) , it is just a Horrid Map! I just hope FH6 has a Proper, Varied, Vertical Map with a Logical Layout of Great Driving Roads, a Much Bigger Focus on Apex Road Racing, Great Course Design, and Beautiful, Gorgeous, Diverse, Scenery in a *European* Country (Cough *Germany* Cough!) that feels Modern, Vibrant and actually Alive! And NO Flaming "Battle Royale" Rubbish!

Lmao, tell that to The Crew 2 - this game have over 500+ cars as well, you can also race with police in the DLC and do more crazy things with even more rare cars than in Forza. Yes, Licensing issues, Forza has Licenses with Several Brands (Brands which the Crew 2 does not have) who are so *Hostile* to Idea of their Cars being even Remotely Associated with illegal Street Racing they will not allow them to appear in Games that contain big Cities. Also, of those 500 Cars, how many are unique? and how many are Duplicate "Editions" only Altered by a Fancy Body Kit, some Neon's and some Color Smoke Tires? You can see where TC2 is having a lot Licensing issues, due to the fact it has to rely a lot on Duplicates! Remember, a Lot of Car Companies now are so Concerned about Games damaging their PR Images in China and the Middle East that they do not even want to be in Games anymore, and are looking for even the Slightest Excuse to give License Refusal ("we do not allow our cars to be Portrayed with Dirt on them" -Rolls Royce) or to Engineer a License Removal, it really is Eggshells at the Moment! On the City Eventlabs, these also prove another Point Torben made, the Maps are *hammering* the Frame Rate, even Series X is dropping to 10FPS or Below in some of them, and there are Reports in the Forums that Series S and the Old One's (even One X) are just Hardcrashing! the Current Forzatech M Engine does not like Running a Large Number of Vertices and that is causing Severe Performance issues when it comes to Massive Cities, that may be Ok for an Eventlab, but its not Ok on the Main Map, and given the New F-Tech engine from FM8 is Absolutely Broken and struggles to barely even Boot half the time, FH6 could well end up being made on Forzatech-M again, as at least it actually works! so that may also mean they need to avoid a Big City due to the Performance issues, there is no Point Risking Licenses for Something that is also going to cause Performance Problems even on Series X due to Graphics Engine Limitations! that is Bad Business!

3 things I'd like to add to what you've talked about. 1. FH3 did tunnels properly...there were bugger all of them, but the ones that were in the game amplified the sound nicely. 2. FH4 IMO is the best Horizon map for cruising. I quite often booted up the game just to cruise. And every time I did the playlist, I cruised. And when I was initially playing through the base game content...you get the picture. In FH5, it's flat out or you're falling asleep. Anything under 400 HP feels painfully slow meanwhile I could be driving a 60s Transit or a London Cab in FH4 and be enjoying my time. 3. In FH4, I had to recalibrate my wheel every 45-60 mins because it would start jerking violently...but in FH5, every single goddamn time I change to manual with clutch, I have to change the steering wheel layout to standard 1, back out, go back in, change it back to custom 1, and save that JUST so I can have a functioning clutch. Absolutely ridiculous. And I have an analogue handbrake (for drifting and rallying. Also helpful for killing understeer in a FWD car). In FH4, it allows that and the normal handbrake button, but on FH5? The button no longer does anything, and when they introduced the forced launch control races, it means that to utilise it I have to hold my analogue handbrake just to not be forced to launch at literally idle. The current series (community choice) is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. BRING ON SOLAR CROWN!!!! End Rant. And have a nice day

@@scousehead Traffic seemed to also be doing a reasonable speed because they had speed limits that were reasonable for the country. Before FH5 launched, I studied typical speed limits for Mexico and what the game has is not it, closer to the mph equivalent

For traffic, I feel like we should have the option to choose how much traffic we want, such as "none, light, medium, heavy, very heavy" and have seperate servers for each option.

Something to note about the clutch- it does seem to have features about not shifting or starting correct as if you look through telemetry you can see the game releasing the clutch on launch and using it on shift for you

They should add all the above as well as realistic mud and water physics. Like Irl you can't just drive a Lamborghini threw mud like nothings there. And definitely more actual offloading areas and trails that are bumpy and not just a texture on the ground. As well as locking diffs

I absolutely agree with the sim shifting feature. It should definitely be an option as I myself do exactly the same, I switch settings depending on the car. This goes for races too and it would make online races so much easier, as you can't change transmission settings online unfortunately.

To improve on 7:45 what we need is setup profiles. For me, I race in automatic with assists off and a certain controller layout. When I’m drifting, I switch to manual no assists with a different controller layout. I want to be able to save those two as a group. So instead of having to go into settings and scroll through a million things, I could go into settings and just switch setups.

1 The roads are very wide. 2. Excluding the mountain and canyon, the terrain is flat. 3. Most of the roads lack crash barriers, meaning there is no risk of driving fast.

The reason cruising isn't fun in ANY of the Horizon games is because you can't feel the road surface under you. Try taking a relaxed drive in a regular sportscar around a track like the Nordschleife in Assetto Corsa using a wheel and pedals. Even when going slow you can feel bumps and cracks in the road and it affects your steering in a way that makes the drive entertaining. You could do similarly in Project CARS 2 also.

I'm still waiting for a triple AAA driving simulator game, preferably not set in America, where you can drive in dense traffic. Doubt it will ever happen though. Not just cruising, but freeroam issues in general. 1. Half of map is dry, vast, grey wasteland. Unpleasant for eyes, with nothing to catch your interest. Compare it to FH3 map which also had jungle/farmlands/desert biomes, which has plenty of memorable spots that are actually used in game, like desert town, lumbermill, industrial site, or ship graveyard. In FH5 you have generic towns, and few tracks that make use of landmarks are lazily designed and generaly disliked. Also, in FH3 pedestrians had their sandbox adding to feel of living world, in FH4 and 5 they're nailed to spot and repeat same movement like animatronics. 2. Soft ground has almost no effect on cars unprepared for it. It's more slippery and that's it. Staying within road limits means nothing, if you can go almost as fast on sand. This affect Eliminator too, which would be much more interesting if it had players confined to roads, with DQ bar which fills when you're off road, and slowly empties when you're on road, allowing shortcuts without turning race into bumrush. 3. Related issue is how weak railings, posts, and fences are. I'd say perfect middle would be how tough they are in Dirt Rally 2, where you WILL feel impact enough to learn to avoid them, and only go buldozer in desperation.

It’s the map. Just compare the FH3 and FH5 map it’s like they decided to go from cool towns,cities and places of interest to boring roads with nothing but a few mud huts scattered in between the few POIs The roads are to big I swear you can fit two full sized trucks in one lane it just makes driving extremely boring and unrealistic. The roads are so big it looks like you’re driving a 1/2 version of the car. I’d rather go back to 30FPS FH3 Than the boring empty FH5 map. It’s like a bunch of women designed the FH5 map. It’s beautiful and has great scenery but it’s empty and the “driving” roads are so wide they lack any effort to drive on. It’s like they didn’t care how it felt to drive around the map and only cared that you can take pretty screenshots of it. It’s just so sad how empty and lifeless the map feels. No parking lots,no gas stations, no towns other than a couple extremely tiny one that’s empty, the city is boring and looks like it belongs in a romantic movie not a racing game.
