If we are going to lose KCP, I hope there is a sign and trade for another 3 and D guy. If he walks for nothing, we are screwed. I love CB, but he can't/won't shoot and KCP is one of the best defenders and shooters at his salary. Without KCP, teams know that AG and CB dont have to be gaurded on the perimeter and are functionally only cutters and it mucks up the offense. The offense works when Jok has shooters to pass to, so that he can maximize open cutters if the 3 isn't there. For years the players have said "Keep Championship Players" whenever they are asked about KCP and we have all agreed and laughed at the Lakers. I think that the morale/confidence hit of losing him would be huge to the guys. Give KCP what it takes, Go into the 2nd apron for a year if you have to and lets see if they can make it back to the championship. Its not like we can make any trades that matter (without trading our starters) anyway, so the matching salary part doesnt matter. We have a bunch of young guys already, so picks don't matter for a couple years either. This is the window, the Kronkes will either pay to keep it open, or smash the glass and rub it in our eyes.

Holmes looks like a great pick. More polished than the 3 guys from last year. Hope Moach actually plays him. 🙄 It’s clear Zeke is gone. Maybe bundle him & Reggie for upgrades. It looks like there’s still some trades they can make to upgrade at backup PG & a real 5. DJ ain’t it. Denver still needs to sack up & get outta MPJ’s contract. Nothings changed there. They’re hamstrung by that ridiculous contract. Far better options for depth are out there. Mike’s always been a luxury, not a necessity.

Yeah we started with stages of grief a bit early, I've seen nuggets fans already rationalize loosing KCP with "was he even that good in the playoffs"? Nuggets ain't winning anything with Braun at starting 2, at least not next year, because a) Braun at starting 2 means his backup is.. who exactly? b) he ain't that good

Ovi su u zabludi. Braun je mladja, atletskija verzija Branka Lazića, sa vise energije i nesto boljim sutem za tri poena. Braun je rol igrac koji moze energijom i odbranom da malo podigne ekipu, nije suter, a ovi bi da ga stave u prvu postavu. Prva postavom koja ima dva igraca koja ne sutiraju nema nikakvu buducnost u modernom NBA.

I think daron is great I just hope they don’t force him to just play big & just try make him rebound set screens roll & block shots & only keep him in the dunker spot like I feel that’s kinda what they did with naji, I would like 2 see darpn at PF next to jokic let him shoot the 3 let him post up yeh ofcourse he needs to do the big man things aswell but I would like 2 see him at PF next to jokic where he can really focus on his offence

I’m always extremely skeptical about a college center becoming a good NBA forward. So I take Booth’s comments about that with a grain of salt. I’m hopeful that Holmes becomes a useful NBA player and it’ll be a good pick if that’s the case.

We are asking too many young guys potentially to contribute to a pursuit of a championship. The same thing will happen in the playoffs where AG and Jokic just get ran into the ground. Also, the front office should be ahead of all of us, but why didn’t the front office prioritize preparing for the KCP free agency last year by simply not paying Zeke. We could have paid KCP and avoided the second apron. We have the guys, just get established players.

God, Nuggets fans are such pessimistic whiners. Drafting Holmes is as good as could be reasonably expected from this draft. Maybe he hits and can play, maybe he doesn't, but we NEEDED a guy who could play behind AG and Jokic. And he seems like he projects to be a potential AG heir apparent, with a bit of luck.

Jokic said at the last PO press conference that he dont want to come back to losing again (like that is behind him and DN) but if KCP levees Jokic is exactly coming back to the 2018-9 20 years of his carrier he is coming back on losing streak .(In other worlds his carrier is going in down spiral regressing not progressing) So i would not be surprised if Jokic request a trade this or next year from DN because reality is till 2027 max MPJ contract expire he will not win nothing only can go down from hire..

You guy are the best, I feel bad for you, it's so maddening that these guys (front office) is treating Jokic prime like it's another Tuesday...guys in the front office you are all irrelevant, only thing that matters is Jokic, DEN won't likely make play-off for few years and won't be close to a tittle for decades, no matter who you draft or trade or whatever you do. That's the reality of NBA. You had about 10 chances to win the tittle, 1 = Murray ACL, 2 = Murray lazy to comeback, 3 = you won, great job, 4 = Murray lazy to keep fit, 5/6/7/8/9/10 = window closed by the GM?. Only thing matter is to have the best players, if you loose KCP you have 1 MVP, 1 pseudo star, 1 star role player, 1 MPJ and 2-3 bench players. I love CB but he's 6th guy at best. And that just half of it, CB was great in his role...who do you get to play his role now?

Well I like CB, but you are loosing your spacing and you are loosing CB in his current role, so another season of competent players leaving the team...you are basically downgrading 2 spots (KCP for CB and CB for whoever)

If KCP leaves that signals to me that DN are project dynasty focused ( player development ) and not about championships ..I am really ready to see Jokic on another team this or next year. His prime is almost over he w8sted 3 years of 4 years and this next one will be 5th and until MPJ contract in 2027 expire (that in weird way metaphorically broke Nuggets back) Jokic will not win another ring and after 2027 Jokic prime is over.

As i said Malone is first and biggest reason why Denver was in state they were in playoff and why they lost on side that Murray,KCP and Porter decided that they can't hit a 3p no matter what! I hope he learned something from that,will see i guess! Denver didn't need to chase first place or top3 spot for all cost to last game! Malone should get played young players much more especially Strada,kid have big potential if used right, which Malone didn't do at all! If they where 4 or 5 at the end or regular but coming healthy and more rest is million times better than playing hard to last game, entering the playoffs tired and with ton of smaller and medium injures and without any young player who can give you anything! As i said,i just hope he learned something from that!

KCP is 31 and like so many guys before he has his best years playing with Jokic. Braun can easily give us more than KCP has for the next 5 years. There's no reason to overpay for another guy. He's not worth more than 20 mil in the new cba. And he looks so good cause he plays 97% of his minutes with Jokic. The 6ers are going to over pay for him and when he doesn't look is good playing with a deadball iso player he'll be a scapegoat.

I just want Jokic to blow because of KCP , the same thing awaits him next season with Gordon. Uughhh so want Jokic to demand to be traded and finally leave this circus. Look at Denver's bright future in the summer league, maybe you'll see something. Next season, Denver will fight for 46.47 wins (perhaps less) and for 5th or 6th place in the Western competition. What will happen if Jokic gets injured at the Olympics and misses the whole season, then the dynasty won't even enter the playoffs.

I disagree and agree...I disagree that the pick is bad. I think Booth actually understands basketball very well and sees good talent. BUT he also doesn't know what he is doing. It's completely irrelevant whatever he does, other than keeping the good players. If he's trying to not overpay people and have good future talents, he's missing the point. Only think that matters is to have the best players you can right now, Jokic has about 5 seasons left, every season should be played as it is the last season in history

Calvin Booth needs to get over himself, thinking he's master strategist, not gonna overpay player. He's doesn't appreciate the seriousness of the situation. Team like DEN gets player like Jokic once in a century. Nothing else matters, you have a chance to win now and only now, he can be the smartest GM in the league, but he would still be completely irrelevant. He can only ruin it, you can't win as a GM. WAKE UP, only thing that matters is getting as many competent players on the roster with Jokic. Letting KCP go, we are left with 3 players, 1 MPJ and 2-3 bench caliber players. wasting Jokic prime, I can't take it.
