Don't listen to them. They have no education if they tell you that. Declawing is not bad if they're indoor. If theyre outdoor its a bad idea but declawing wont be needed since they wont be indoors scratching everything. Declawing does not hurt but it reduces traction and self defence. When you declaw them, that doesnt mean you dont care for them. As a matter of fact, when you declaw them, I see it as caring for them even more becauae you take it upon yourself to make them happy without their claws. All though they wont have the satiafaction of scratching, they all will have the satisfaction of not having to use theyre claws since you're helping them out, aka caring for them.

If you're worried about furniture or serious things like children getting scratched, then don't get a cat at all.

Settle down people, there are other alternatives besides declawing. It’s right here on the internet. I researched it and they had some convincing ideas that I tried. Now I have a friendlier cat that does not scratch the furniture. Don’t be lazy people, do your homework or just don’t get a cat. Declawing is already banned in many states here in the US. you shouldve put the aggresive cat in a cage, or maybe separate them before they get out and maybe FIGHT. i always did that to my new cat! my other cat who hisses at her would just try sniffing, hissing, and actually got used to her smell. when we let her out, they were fine and didnt fight. she was a kitten so, she wouldnt. and joey has his claws declawed (he was injected so he wont feel anything when they declawed him) and started getting used to her.
