Is what you were saying about Avraham offering Yitzchak, also evident in the notion that - before G-D gives you a BLESSING, he first sends it DISGUISED as SUFFERING - and if you take it and don't complain, you are rewarded with its pleasure!?

Excellent point. I think yes, what you suggest can be a good interpretation of this core idea, meaning the sweetening of judgment (suffering) by accepting it with faith, and meriting revealed blessing as a result.; and there is a source for this from a story of Nacham Ish Gam Zu - He would say when something bad happened that it was for the good, and in the story he merited for the situation to turn out good. Rabbi Yosef Chaim explains that he turned the din - judgment into mercy and that's why the bad turned out good. All the best.
