Over-ambitious! Last time he contested from two ACs and lost both. In one constituency, his son (the then sitting MLA) had to make way to accommodate dear papa’s dreams. Should have foisted his son instead and embraced the tension-free life of sweet retirement. This time too, seeing his route was blocked in Rio’s NDPP, he promptly quit the party and joined BJP in hopes of getting the saffron ticket. But, no! Couldn’t escape the Rio master stroke of allotting only 20 seats to the BJP. Also a win-win scenario for Imna Along, since having a rejuvenated Alemtemshi as a potential victor would have rattled the set pieces in the party itself. That adage, ‘bureaucrats don’t make a good politician’ rings oh so true in this old warrior’s case also. Ayali!! Why not say goodbye to public life and take a private world tour with his dear wife before it’s too late? 🤦‍♂️
