-The seat switch are known to go bad, he probably replaced them -Exterier styling is broken up to 03-05 and 06-09. The 06+ have the better headlights, better tail lights, different front bumper, and in 07 they went to the HR hood. 06+ also has the revised interiors. -Enginewise, 03-05 are DEs, 05 tracks and anniversaries where rev-up DEs, along with all 06 manuals. 06 Autos where still non-revup DEs. 07+ are HRs. -GT gives you brembos, nav, leather, bose, Ray's wheels -Plenty companies make cruise control brackets that mount to the 6 bolt stuff.

watch out for the uprev, it was kinda of a beta for what became the HR and has a lot of oil consumption issues. i would have held out for an HR.

06 means HR headlights, led tails, HR interior and cluster, 03-05 hood, uprev motor is different essentially just because it has variable exhaust cams and different lower plennum, factory redline is 500rpm higher than a DE. There's a bunch of other subtle differences, like the abs is different, the not brembo stock brakes are a hair bigger than the 03-04.5 ones. Also, they came with a CD009

If no one said it so far. The revup 06 has the facelift bumper, headlights and taillights. The interior has the updated middle dash piece. And it being a touring it had 18” and 19” with brembo brakes. The wheels are the same as the nismo v3 wheels besides the 3 Z squares over the single line. You could get a module to add apple carplay to the oem system. It is a gorgeous Z. Enjoy man!

There were originally 5 trim levels, and was trimmed down to 4 at some point when they removed the track model, which was basically a base model with the Brembo's and track model specific 18" wheels at all 4 corners...I could be wrong, but I remember reading something to that effect when I bought my Z. Also, you did own another black Z back in the day if I remember correctly. However...from what I remember, the trim levels from 2006-2008 were: Base: Rubber pedals, no traction or stability control, and open rear diff Sport: Aluminum pedals, traction control, torsen limited slip rear diff Touring: Aluminum pedals, traction/stability control, torsen limited slip rear diff, leather seats, and Bose audio Grand Touring: Alumunum pedals, traction/stability control, torsen limited slip rear diff, leather seats, Bose audio, Brembo brakes, integrated navigation, and the factory aero package that apparently lowers the drag coefficient from 0.31 to 0.29Cd. The Grand Touring also comes with Rays Engineering forged wheels (Staggered 18's front, 19's rear (18x9 and 19x10 if I remember correctly), and they run wider rubber than the factory rubber on the other trim levels...all other trim levels run 18's at all 4 corners with 225's in front and 245's in back...Grand Touring models run 265/35R19's in back and 245/40R18's up front.

Nice. I know you love the JDM companies but don't sleep on putting some Motordyne parts on this thing. Easily one of the top VQ specific companies, US made & the dudes have aerospace engineering knowhow incorporated into their R&D. Definitely get their MREV2 lower intake manifold at least, I'd also recc. the 5/16th plenum spacer as long as it works for Revup (can't recall). Their XYZ mid pipe & Shockwave catback are some of the nastiest on the market. Personally I went with the Stillen catback cause it was half the price (still way more than other brands like Tomei, etc.) and that has worked out awesome, no trombone here. And I know HKS makes a supercharger kit for the DE. The Revup is a DE-R so I'd assume it works? Might wanna independently research that compatibility... on that same point NWP Engineering offers a larger 75mm throttle body kit. It's OEM Nissan/Hitachi from like an 09+ Maxima or something. That TB with the Motordyne intake stuff made my VQ responsive as fuck.

I will forever miss the technology in my 1986 Maxima, had the automatic seat belts that were attached above the door frame and would slide around the door frame to open and then would do the opposite and close with the door so when you got in and the door closed you now had the seatbelt across your chest without moving a muscle 😂, but more specifically the keypad on the front doors. Always locked my keys in the car so I didn't lose them by having them on me. Since you could pop the trunk, unlock all the doors, roll down the front windows, all 4 windows, lock/unlock the doors without any key or opening the door. Still have yet to ride in a car (new or old) that would say in a calm female voice (exactly like Siri except she didn't have an attitude or talk smack back to you, and you can't talk back to her...but you'd never leave a door open overnight and have a dead battery, or leave the trunk or any door half way open since it had super specific notifications that were in perfect English and non-robotic sounding like "the right rear door is adjar" if the door behind the drivers seat wasn't closed all the way or "The gas tank is low" or "The gas door is open" if you left your gas cap/door open. Like I understand cars have extremely high tech shit nowadays, but in 1985 (34ish years old!) when my dad bought that Maxima brand new up until current day... The features like the full equalizer on the stereo with a vertical slider switch for all 10 different equalizer options, being able to press a single button to lock the doors, open windows, open trunk without ever opening a door. Perfect stoner car when I was growing up and my dad gave it to me my senior year for my first car, I Never had to guess who forgot to close the door or remember to get gas on those high school days you were so baked you were just happy you could walk straight much less remember to take the keys out of the ignition. since that lady would literally say shit like "The keys are in the ignition... The keys are in the igni..." until you took them out and then it would let you lock the doors. So it was literally impossible to lock yourself out of the car. And you could set the pass code to any combination or length of digits you wanted, but only way to change It was to sit in the front passenger seat upside down and look far under the glove box under the dash and type in a massively long number followed by specific actions like.. (Turn steering wheel to the left, open then close drivers door 2 times, honk horn once, roll down both front windows at the same time etc.) 1986 Nissan Maxima was way ahead of its time, even has electric seats for reclining, scooting seats forward/backwards and so much more. Still cranks up first try, now I just need to fyeah/nismo spec the 86 Maxima (or cefiro? Think that was the Japanese equivalent of a maxima, or maybe Infiniti q30.. I dunno I forget. Either way...nobody does it/did it like Nissan 👌

You can keep the cruise control with an aftermarket steering wheel. DND has a nice bracket that I have, and GKTech has one as well. If you want to keep both CC and volume controls, GKTech has one that'll keep both. Also 06+ Zs came stock with the HIDs and LED taillights. And pay attention to your oil. The RevUp engines burn a ton of oil.

There’s a guy on KZfaq named Vitamin Z that had Tomei cams in his 350z that sounded awesome. I think for a daily that might be more fun than a turbo or supercharger. The only problem is it would cost the same as a turbo/supercharger setup and make way less power.

Love the Z, pumped to see what you do to it. As a 2003 Z owner I’ve always loved them. Still have mine with about 40,000 on it, I’ve converted it to a track car with roll cage. They are fun and parts are everywhere with a strong transmission

When the 350 came out in 2003 it was so futuristic looking for that era and it still kinda holds up today. Also, when they came out they were only like $27k starting for a base model.

Those are 350z nismo wheels. Enjoy the car my man its super clean and sick! With the revup motor, get the 03-04 lower intake plenum, longer runners (more low end torque) i say kinetic upper plenum, not the crazy one, the black one, more volume (more high end power) a nice cold air intake, whatever exhaust just don't remove cats, if you do needs vibrant ultra quiet resonator. Single exit all day imo.

Had to sell it years ago for a bigger vehicle (growing up sucks) and then kinda fell on hard times a few years ago. You make a bracket for the cruise control buttons. That's how you switch between tunes. I have a bracket that fits between my quick release hub and it puts the cruise control in a perfect spot in my steering wheel. I can send pics just tell me where to send them

i picked up a completely stock 04' 350z roadster enthusiast a few years back with a non-working ripped top from the Neighbor to my Business, for $2400. I parked it til I could get a top to replace it and do the brembo upgrade that I wanted. 54k miles 6 speed car, I'm just realizing how lucky I am to have picked it up. I've looked at z's for quite some time and you're right when you say 99% are thrashed on.

Grand Turing, so it's a GT with original 18's on front 19's on rear Ray's engineering wheels. You can fit comfortably up to 285/40/19 0n rear with a 11" wheel contact to pavement. When it any Z 2003 and up you have the basic model, the Enthusiasts model, the GT model,the Nismo model. Very nice find, hope it only goes 👍 in value as it is becoming less and less in time as any car does.

I think the 06 touring had the leather seats option with the hr lights and wheels no hr motor but the de rev up. Also the brembos are from the g35 I think I dont think the 350z ever got brembo brakes

I would have held out for an HR at least if you're planning on modding. The internals are stronger. The HR motor didn't make it into the Z until '07. My Dad had this exact car, except auto, back in the day. It was a blast.

06 has the same headlights and taillights as a 07 & 08. the 06 motor (rev up) revs a little higher then 03-05 de. brembo a come on track and touring trim models.

Tommy you can relocate/hide the cruise control buttons somewhere else around the steering rack or around the cluster. As long as they are plugged in, theyll be operational. Also. You bought a REV-UP, not an “Uprev” lol. Uprev is the name of the software commonly used to tune the stock ECUs in these cars.

No lie makes me miss my 2007 350z I also had the Grand Touring model but they don’t come with the Brembo brakes I’m pretty sure the guy added those. But love the 350z

LeeCParts has the Nismo Juke/370z seats up right now for 4k, couple small signs of use but no hecka JDM grit burns.

Gk tech makes a relocation bracket for the cruise buttons

So I'm up in CT from NYC visiting wine stores as part of my job. I'm headed to a little store that to me feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. Thoroughly enjoying ripping on these woodsy CT back roads and as I come around a corner I almost run off the road as my head snaps to the side. Of all the random stores on random roads in CT... I'm passing Tommy's shop. Really bizarre to see the sight of the outside of the shop that I've seen in dozens of videos. Wish I could have stopped to check out all the cars in the lot, but I'm guessing they would have told me to go F myself.

Grand Touring means you get the Track V2 wheels (Rays brand, forged 19x10 18x9), factory Brembos, Navigation, Bose sound system, seat configuration is Leather/Power/Airbag (the heaviest), stock aero includes front lower chin spoiler and rear trunk spoiler.

You can move the cruise/radio controllers. My brother actually took the 350z controllers and mounted it behind his quick release on his g37. Also, you should totally keep the factory nav. It's sick seeing a fully loaded 350z. Never see em.

The wheels are grand touring which are made by rays. Essentially they are like the wheels off a 350z Nismo just slightly different markings on the wheels.

The 350 now is like the Fox Body of the late 90's to early 2000's in regards to people buying nostalgia 👍🏻.

Just my 2 cents but I really don’t like the 03-05 front bumper and I really like the 06-08 one. They don’t really look different but those little differences in my opinion make it look much better. Along with updated headlights. I recently bought my first Z. An 08 with 81k miles. I really wanted the GT because of wheels and Brembos but found this clean Touring model in great shape for a decent price, it’s black too. It has a few upgrades like exhaust, intakes and clutch. I love V8s but man I love this car!
