6:20 your opponent had a combo draw. Open ended straight draw + flush draw with 1 over card. Very strong hand. 18 outs (15 outs against your TT) so he was actually a favorite to win the hand by the river at about 60% against you.

Loving your channel, mate. You can’t ever fold Kings pre. 2nd nuts. Only 6 combos of AA beat you. 16 combos of AK, 6 combos of JJ & QQ each and that’s ascribing villain a suuuuper tight ‘worst case scenario’ range. You’re doing amazing though. Great attitude and even the small wins count!

When you have limpers you supposed to add 1 bb for every limper, so if normally you raise to 3 bb, if there’s 3 limpers add 3 bb, and if you’re out of position add an extra bb

1:40 J5o out of position against 3 players is trouble. That hand is instant fold. You will only get action from better hands like J6+ and the dummy who can't fold TT or the dude who hits a full house on the flop. You may get a street of value from AK but the action pre caps your opponents range to mediocre holdings and medium and low value pairs like 22 - JJ. Also when you overbet the pot you run all the regs out.

Yeah, if you have pocket kings and someone goes all-in, the best response is to call or go all-in.

Preflop sizing theory based, in live cash games you can open raise bigger. First to raise (RFI) 3bbs, from the blinds 4x. Live you can get away with even 5-7x even since they want to gamble. With limps and in position (IP) standard raise+whatever other money is in pot. Out of position (OOP) make it a bit bigger. 3bets: 3x IP, 4x OOP. if there are callers of the initial raise add that much to the total. So if it’s raise 10, call, you should 3bet IP to 3(10)+10+blinds= 43. This formula is how you calculate a pot size bet. OOP make its 4(10)+10+3=53, just round up to nearest 5. 4bets: Assuming they roughly use the above sizing IP 2.3x, OOP 2.75x. Feel free to ball park it. If your invest MORE than 1/3 of your stack you can’t really fold if they jam since you will likely be priced in. Meaning you are getting a good price. Most hands have around 25% equity. If you raise to 100 and they go all in for 300, 200 more for you to call, how often do you need to win to call? You need to put in 200 to win 400, that’s 2:1, if you calculate the percentage 1/(2+1)=33%

@@coloruppoker quick correction most have at LEAST 25% equity, that’s why you are priced in.

Few tips 1.) I don’t know your story or journey you’re on, this is the first video of yours that I’ve seen. But buy in for a larger amount if you can, could you loss more? Yeah, but now you’re limited on how much you can win. Losing players focus on how much they could loss, winning players focus on how much they could win. 2.) don’t study sporadically, focus hardcore on preflop play, understand ranges. That is the most effective knowledge as you get up in stakes, then as you play more to lockdown your game, figure out what your bad at and attack then next thing 3.) understand that the lower the stakes, the more often people have a gambling mindset rather than a poker mindset. Stuff will go off the rails sometimes, it can serve you we’ll go also not play so by the book sometimes also

Thanks for the tips. Im starting off really small because I really don't have a bankroll to speak of yet. I understand the concept of larger buy-in. I know the normal buy-in is 100bb, but here in Reno its different than many areas for the $1/2 you can go 500b and match any stack...so games can get big fast. Because im just trying to get comfortable for moment, im not really worried about "winning" yet with bigger stack, but soon...

You’re a small raises with medium to high pairs is working for now. Your opponents are not putting you on such high pairs with your min raises. I will be watching your future of vlogs to see how much you increase your bets w pre-flop high pairs.

During Covid, my casino eliminated all poker games and has yet to bring them back. MAN, I MISS POKER! Folding the Kings was probably the right call. I put him on pocket Aces for sure based on how he bet. Could the rest of the community cards get you a win? Sure, but obviously no guarantees in poker so, a good call if you were not ready to head home with a loss.

You're doing great overall. But you should increase your bet size preflop. $6 is 3x the big blind in 1-2 but nowadays the game just plays bigger, $6 is not going to accomplish much besides bloating up the pot into a multi way hand with 4,5, or 6 other players. Should do at least 5x the bb if you're coming in with a raise and even add one big blind per limper if you're raising from early positions like small or big blind.

Wether the player was angling you or not and actually looked at his cards, it’s a tactic some people use to try to get people to call with weaker hands knowing they’re ahead of the range of any two hole cards, if gentleman did look and said it, he could still easily be doing it with any two broadways, 66+ and any QX suited, have to make that call, a fold is scared money

I’m more an intermediate player who plays casually. I live in Vegas. A lot of people say not to short buy in your comments section. I like short buying. Reduces my risk, forces me to gamble less and play better, and if I lose, I can survive another day. I have a friend that plays for a “living”, knows all the theory and percentages etc, he puts me down for leaving early with profit, not buying in max, but guess who’s in debt to credit cards and casino credit? Guess who brags to me mid game sending me pics of his chip stack and how much he’s ahead only to blow it all on getting AA cracked by the Asian dude who called a raise with 94 suited? Poker is less a skill game and more bingo nowadays with all this poker theory going around. Everyone has access to it. Everyone is essentially a pro poker player lol! Phil Hellmuth ( a guy who consistently makes money at the game) actually has the best advice, to paraphrase: You can have all the poker knowledge and talent in the world, but you’ll go broke if you have no money management. So don’t let those commenters against short buying affect you, buy in what you’re comfortable losing, just like for craps or roulette or any betting game, and it’s okay to walk away a winner anytime you want-that’s the goal of the game anyways, right lol. A game. Pro Poker is all about money management, catching cards (you need cards to win, can’t bluff every hand), and not being greedy. YOU control the variance everyone talks about. My friend blames his cold spells on variance instead of realizing he had opportunities to walk away a winner so many times. So learn all the theory, learn the raise this here, do this, don’t do that unless stack is x%, defend this, fold equity stuff, it can definitely help improve your game on your journey … but at the end of the day and especially if you have a family to support, none of that means shit if you can’t actually control your money and greed and walk away when you are ahead. My friend has trashed his life with this game over the years, always struggling and making excuses. More lows than highs. And he is dead set in his poker theory bible ways, delusional to the reality he is broke AF and trying to be a poker pro is not his destiny. Truly sad. Looking forward to more content! Love the craps channel too!

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely have to be careful of taking everyone’s advice. I’m pretty disciplined when it comes to playing with what I’m comfortable with at craps, so I won’t be playing over my head in poker.
