My did the same thing, she retired from London 🇬🇧 after 40+ yrs. She’s living stress free and enjoying her fruit trees and garden and living like a Queen.

We give up Caribbean life because we are under the assumption it is better elsewhere. In the tropics, you can grow food, enjoy the clean air, beaches, live a stress-free life, and enjoy the summer all year round.

Good for your mom that she was able to follow through and move. There are many that would love to move back but are not able to execute their plan. Best wishes to her and pretty sure she will enjoy and squeeze all of the joys of living in such great tropical weather.

Home is where the heart is.i worked 40 years in Canada and my pension will follow me any part of the world.i am thinking of dying in guyana.i am a gardener and fisherman so I will be Irie in guyana. Guyana is where we breathe our first air as babies so guyana is our motherland

Do really have no regrets? How is the crime and treatment by neighbours? My folks moved back years ago when they retired but left in 2008 due to poor healthcare facilities when they were in their 80s. They sold their property near Bagotsville. I would not want to live in Georgetown but be far away maybe in the interior of the country, say Letem.

People in the developing world have been seduced by the images of an aspirational life broadcast to them from the USA. The fact is that Guyana 🇬🇾 and Suriname 🇸🇷 are two very blessed nations. If the wealth is managed well, everyone will be "living in paradise".

Who want to come to Ametica these days, only people who really never had nothing, for your information there is no better living in America, you have better food, good drinking water, nice beaches and good fresh air, America is a stress place, most Caribbean people especially women came here worked and never get to enjoy life after, she is a wise person and God bless her, America done, look at the people want yo come here, Latinos and a few others who never experience hardship.. I was born in Georgetown Guyana grew up in the UK. I back went to Guyana on a holiday and to vist my granny who lived in Wismar for the first time in many years and I had enjoyed it. I also went to Berbice and vised some relatives and I also enjoyed down the away from the mosquitoes Lol. I would go back home again when I have the chance and I am thinking of going there and would eventually go back for good in my retirement years.

Those walks look thin though. Make sure they put lots of steel to reinforce the concrete. Also, the rafters for the roof arent looking very modern for such a huge house. I hope the workmen can be trusted

And they say Guyana is a violent war torn third world country,yeah everywhere has it's issues but this right here is not a woman suffering and impoverished, she seems so relaxed,at peace and her garden is very creative and beautiful.
