Shonore and Justis are not typical Trump supporters. Young, female, and African American would statistically put them firmly in Hillary's camp. But the last 8 years of Democratic leadership have seen their hometown of Akron, Ohio slip deeper into despair. "I'd like us to get back to where our jobs were here, and our education back on top. He actually supports all of that, so he's my guy", says Shonore. It's a similar story in nearby Lorain. Carlos, a Dominican immigrant, is one of tens of thousands left jobless and hopeless after the collapse of the steel industry. "When the economy went bad for the auto industry, for the banks, they all got bailed out... We were like the Titanic, nobody came to help". With his future uncertain, Carlos is another unlikely vote for Trump. Across the border in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania the situation is also dire. Bobby Erjevik lost his job as a teacher due to budget cuts following the closure of the mine. He wasn't the only one, "we've lost 25,000 teachers in 5 years, so we are most definitely in crisis mode", says Missy Wilson. But will the Rust Belt's plight be enough to save Trump?

Hillary was under investigation by the federal, more than 1, authorities, plus she fainted multiple times including recently because she has mental brain health problems, even was forced to wear special glasses to correct an issue that came after she passed out and knocked her head on the ground. Reporters these days just fail to dig deep into anyone. And Trump has nothing but old butch women claiming he groped them, after 30 years of silence, and 3 at the same time yet all 3 reported to different newspapers on the same week. I'm a black woman living in Westerville Oh, a small suburb of Columbus and yes, the Democratic Party has completely failed black communities in Ohio. The majority of black are struggling bad here. Foreigners from multiple 3rd world countries own all the business in the black communities in Columbus. Columbus has been Democratically controlled for years and they never help black people. Lex Wexner a Democratic billionaire lives in a suburb of Columbus and he only help foreigners set up a new life in Ohio. Never doing the same for black people. Ohio will go to Trump.

@@SirNic4180 I beg to differ. We had a record economy during the Trump years. Though I wanted him to win in 2020, I was aware of the possibility of losing. We are starting to see the consequences of a Biden win: Virginia gubernatorial, New Jersey gubernatorial almost losing to Republicans, New Jersey State Senate race, Let’s Go Brandon, Biden shutting down KeyStone XL leading to energy prices rising, inflation, etc. Biden winning is giving buyer’s remorse, as many MSM outlets are forecasting a red wave. Which isn’t uncommon for the party in the White House. Don’t misunderstand, I am no Republican. I dislike the two party system, but Trump was by far the lesser of two evils, greater of two goods.

I said some years ago, the day China and its huge population adopted capitalism or rather state capitalism, the western economies would be in trouble. China has no unions or political parties but they must feed a population of over a billion. Their population is cheap to employ and inevitably spells trouble for the western economy and workforce. What globalist corporations are doing is moving manufacturing to the low wage economies. There is a factory in China that employs 50k people just making toys. They are not paid much and what they make they save, so they are not much of consumer society to buy western goods.. In other words except for the richest 1% of the Chinese state capitalist with vast wealth the rest scratch a living..... The US cannot compete. They railroaded Obama with currency manipulation of the US dollar because Obama is nieve a greenhorn. It's not practical to put Hilary into the whitehouse, because she's the first female etc.??? That's just stupidity. Politicians don't know about business or trade deals... What is pragmatic is put someone into the whitehouse who knows about business and how economies work. Trump is not a proffessional career politician. He is a hard-nosed business man a patriotic one at least. He is more likely, more knowledgeable to bring back jobs and put money into people's pockets. After all if people have regular income they spend and the economy gets going. America needs Trump right now. I'm sure a woman will naturally emerge one day in the future because the political system does allow, it's up to them to put themselves forward and state their reasons like every other politician....but right now America and the western world needs Trump. Ps. No-one cares about locker room talk. All real men talk that way to and at each other.

No president can breathe life into towns whose economies are gone. This doco presented the towns quite fairly (it seemed). I disagree with the reporter in his chiding during the narrative, but feel he connected with the people he talked to, seems like a good dude. Having grown up in Pennsylvania, and having family and friends who grew up in the "coal country" that's now dead...their families moved to coal country because there were jobs, and things were good. Those who stay there now, and cross their fingers for the better, or worse still cast their vote hoping things will improve...do a disservice to those who provided for them. Cast your line in another pond.

past governments are to blame and Im not blaming Bush or Obama. Govts prior to this should've seen the economic changes ahead and opted to invest in industries other than the steel industry. Trump doesn't deal with economic theories like most politicians who have little to no experience creating jobs and wealth, he deals with economic realities and his company is proof of his knowledge and his ability to makes things happen regardless of which party is in control.
