On January 17, 2017 historian Peter Hayes spoke at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum to discuss his new book, "Why? Explaining the Holocaust." In his book, Hayes addresses what scholars know about the Holocaust, and answers important questions including: Why were Jews the primary victims? Why were Germans the instigators? Why did murder become the "Final Solution"? And, why didn’t the international community do more to help?

Unfortunately it's true, fighting the Palestinian people instead of liberating their own Polish Jewish countrymen... The Irgun Stern and Hagannah Jewish military fought the native Arabs instead of Nazis I still scratch my head why?? They took on 22 Arab countries but the same army didn't go to fight the Nazis. It's brilliant strategy and it worked 💪

As a German, I can literally imagine to go to war against an US dictatorship. It would be as part of the EU - not Germany fighting a war, but the point is that I feel something like a duty to do that, if the international community agrees it is the right thing to do. I'm not worrying about an US dictatorship for now, and yes, it was so close I could smell it.
@brightpage1020

@@vsiegel thank you. We got ourselves into this. We helped get the world into this. No atonement would be enough to show how sorry we are or how wrong... And most folks don't even get it. They believe the old hype from the Cold War days. The fall of the Berlin Wall all that b.s. We set up puppet governments. Occupied unnecessarily. Took advantage of states with labor laws we ourselves deem illegally abusive. We gave citizens rights to corporations, legally defining them as equivalent to people, to individuals when Clinton was in office. That's why we see bodily autonomy ideas changing now. That and China's infiltrating influence. We stopped growing food. We stopped manufacturing things. We devalued oil and gas. We went from one of the world's biggest lenders to largest debtor nations. What we gonna pay that back with now we're out of valuable commodities? People. Human bodies. Human capital may be all that's left. So, we are redefining human being to mean the larger scope of the greater human body, each of us only active cells serving it. That's what the mask and shots symbolizes that we all act as each other's white blood cells, helping stamp out disease - if we don't, we're dehumanized as helping death with the dirty business. For the record, I'm not anti mask or anti vax. I wear mine happy to contribute a little bit more safety, but I see an overarching theme. If there was a conglomeration richer, bigger, and more powerful, that encompasses and controlled world governments or didn't have to bow down to them... We might be at a dangerous precipice. We opened this flood gate We opened this door. The whole world must come together to shut it. And it won't. I'm not that religious, but it might take a level of power only divine sources can manage. So, I pray for you, and for the world. What mistakes my country has made. Creating enemies we pretended to be friends. What a mess we might be in. I hope I'm crazy and have invited many minds to help show me how. It's easier to be crazy. There's treatment for that: meds, therapy, recovery. But to see things this way without being able to offer anything helpful... All I can do is pray.

@@brightpage1020 I think the situation is not that pessimistic. Of course, there is a lot broken in the US, currently, and some of it goes deep. The important point is that the US did not become a dictatorship. We need to see ourselves as a global community anyway. To me, it does not so much feel like there is a large country far away with huge structural problems, and hopefully they figure it out. We live in a global society, but are still learning how to do that. Nobody did that before, so that's not surprising. For example, we have this conversation - and we are in no meaningful way separated, except for the physical aspect. What is important here is that we both live in a society, let's call it the western world, and there are regions with serious problems. I'm basically interested in getting the US into working conditions just like you are. We are in the same team, and cooperate. Germany works very well in part because of very strong support. from the US after the war. Our constitution was written from scratch learning from problems with the US constitution, basically by some political scientist, and with US veto power. We were recently in a situation so much darker than the US is in now. Unfortunately, the US situation is much more complex. The US helped us getting out of it literally giving lives of it's citizens. With that support, we had the opportunity to figure some useful stuff out, like running a democracy, and free education. We are more than happy to give something back. A US student can literally just go study in Germany, and spend a lot less money than at home, he may even return debt free. I would be proud to see it. Again, we are on the same team, nationalism between USA and EU does not even make sense anymore. Now, there are some deeply broken things, and we know where they are. Students literally write about things as homework. And the US has really brilliant politicians. For example many of the Democrats candidates. If the only resource that can be exported would be people: Most western countries have declining population. We can pay by educating. And then Joe Biden, a politician who has the highest amount of experience that is physically possible, including vice presidency. That's mind blowing!

The victors write the history. "The revolution won't happen with guns, rather it will happen incrementally, year by year, generation by generation. We will gradually infiltrate their educational institutions and their political offices, transforming them slowly into marxist entities as we move towards universal egalitarianism" --- Max Horkheimer. Horkheimer was one of the leading 'juice' marxist of the Frankfurt school, which pioneered cultural marxism. "When we get ready to take the United States, we will not take it under the label of communism; we will not take it under the label of socialism. These labels are unpleasant to the American people and have been speared too much. We will take the United States under labels we have made lovable; we will take it under liberalism, we will take it under progressivism, under democracy. But take it we will." Alexander Trachtenberg, National Convention of Communist parties 1944. "We made a monster, a devil out of Hitler. Therefore, we couldn't disavow it after the war. After all, we mobilized the masses against the devil himself. So we were forced to play our part in this diabolic scenario after the war. In no way we could have pointed out to our people that the war was only an economic preventive measure." James Baker US Foreign Minister 1992 "If the 'hulcust' you talk about is real, why don't you allow the subject to be studied? One can freely research any issue except this issue which is sealed. It is a black box which they do not allow to be opened or examined. They do this in order to exploit it." Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "When the National Socialist and their friends cry or whisper that this war is brought about by 'small hats,' they are perfectly right." --The 'Juice' Magazine Sentinel of Chicago October 8, 1940. "The war now proposed is for purpose of establishing 'Juice' hegemony throughout the world" ---Brigadier General George Van Horn Mosely, New York Tribune (March 29, 1939). Many countries essentially enabled Hitler's Germany by refusing to accept refugees. At least one country stood out and willingly accepted and embraced Jewish refugees who sought asylum there. That country is the Philippines, so far away from Europe yet did what rich countries had refused to do. In the end, many of these Jewish refugees elected to stay there and assimilated. That's the reason Israel accords so much respect for the Philippines.

You are right, years earlier, students were already burning books on the college campus. The battle of minds was already fought and won by the academics and media of that time. Several Nobel laureates like Erik Gottfrid nominated Hitler for the award even though it didn't fall through later. In 1938 Time magazine named him the man of the year.USAToday published an article in the "Fact check" section claiming that "Time magazine did not praise Hitler in that issue, but they condemned him" Basically, these folks are telling you to ignore empirical facts and believe their fact-checking. Americans are busy looking for the second coming of Hitler in the wrong places. Throughout the history of humanity, all dictatorships have always won the hearts of the majority. None of them has ever told their people what they don't want to hear.

You are absolutely correct, however as there are ALWAYS political beneficiaries of such actions, there is ALWAYS substantial (and often very successful) political pressure to sweep such things under the carpet of history. Look at WHO were the majority of the leadership of the Young Turks, involved in the genocide of Armenians and Greeks. Look at the history of the Zionist movement and their actions. Hitler said who remembers the Armenians ?, and when you look at the history of the last 120 plus years much of it has been swept under the rug in plain sight of the population. I suggest an old U Tube interview with Norman Dodd chief investigator of the 1953 House Unamerican Activities Committee investigation into the tax free foundations. You will find it illuminating.

Though perhaps on a somewhat smaller scale, we face similar ethical dilemmas regarding partners left behind in Afghanistan. I was stunned when the speaker said what America could have done for the Jews was help more of them get out in the 1930s when they had a chance. Over the last 10 years, America understaffed and under resourced the effort to process Special Immigrant Visas for qualified Afghans who had assisted NATO during the intervention. Similar anti-immigrant forces that were active in the 1930s are present in the 21st century. Now we face dilemmas for hundreds if not thousands of Afghans that we should have helped when circumstances were better to do so.

We also learn to reject Anti-Semitism and other forms of hatred against people , whether they are Jewish or black or however different they are from us. Every human being is made by God, whether black, white, regardless of creed, belief, race, or gender. It is our responsibility to love one another, and to treat each other the way we want other people to treat us, as Jesus Christ commanded us to do.

A fundamental human trait is to want someone to look down on. Every nation has appealed to that basic need and dehumanised and belittled their enemies in war. the people in the lowest strata of any society have to look to foreigners. In the case of the Jews, not a nation but a stateless diaspora, there was an established history of their official low status throughout the world, including Britain. For an introduction to that history try a book called From Prejudice to Genocide.

Dr Sues is apparently racist and has been canceled. I am also apparently racist because I can't see how I was indoctrinated by the good Dr. Instead of learning to read the new generation needs to learn about gender dysphoria.

The Jewish woman with dark hair on the front and left of the picture. She saved many Jewish lives by smuggling them out of Europe. She survived the War. I forgot what her name was. I have not looked up this photo in a long time. If anyone knows her name post it here. History like that shines some much needed light and encouragement on such a dark subject. Outcomes like hers seldom happened. Let’s remember and never forget the all the people who lost their lives.

My grandmother was one of the Lithuanians, polish jews that made it out of warsaw with her brother and mother who had blue blood, however they escaped by way of my grandfather who was a Russian captive of the germans, he was handed a riffle and his family was cared for but of his family only his brother made it with him, my grandfather carried my grandmother, her mother and brother in caskets across the border to safely. The Germans had a phobia of opening caskets, they had five caskets the three on bottom were family, the two on top were Gods angels 😇 Because grandmother had blue blood she her brother, and grandmother came to the US, Soon after the war was over the Russian boy married my grandmother, the story tells they were 13 year old and they remained together for 52 years in the USA

I’m always reminded of that line by Shia in the movie Fury! He is talking to Norton and say’s, “wait till you see” to which Norton replies, “what” and Shia says “what one man can do to another, just way till you see” 😳 that was a powerful line about the Holocaust and just the war in general! 😢

The ongoing genocide in Palestine/Gaza , which the Congress (beholden to the Israeli lobby)in an ultimate sadistic irony declared as an attack by the (besieged , beleaguered )Palestinians on Israel and it’s people , closing their eyes to the staggering disparity in casualties and the sheer and lopsided advantage that Israel has in terms of weaponry and resources .What’s true of the Congress is true of the US establishment generally and an odd voice which dares to call out Israel for it’s brutal atrocities is forthwith branded as anti-Semitic , and faces assault from all sides , with death threats and other social and financial overtures .

@@taneterankh I am not answering for Tonne' but will offer that missing the mark is SIN: whatever is evil, evil is the desire to destroy, it is missing the good and Godly love of others, as we love ourselves. If we loved others as ourselves, we would not rush to murder them, steal their belongings, identify them as dangerous because we don't like what they do, don't do what we tell them to, or for what they believe or don't believe.
