The important point is that the US did not become a dictatorship. We need to see ourselves as a global community anyway. To me, it does not so much feel like there is a large country far away with huge structural problems, and hopefully they figure it out. We live in a global society, but are still learning how to do that. Nobody did that before, so that's not surprising. If we loved others as ourselves, we would not rush to murder them, steal their belongings, identify them as dangerous because we don't like what they do, don't do what we tell them to, or for what they believe or don't believe.
