✪ Muggsy Bogues is the shortest player in NBA history at only 5 ft 3. He’s also one of the best basketball players of all time. Coming from a rough neighborhood where he even got shot at the age of 5, no one believed in him. He was bullied and mocked just because of his height, yet today, he’s got some of the best basketball dunks we’ve ever seen. Now, everyone wonders: how is that possible? How did he even make it to the NBA?

This has to be the greatest story of a player in NBA history with him being 1 of 7 billion combined with all he went through growing up. Other players have been through hardships but he had the hardship of being bullied for being 5 ft 3 and the bullying that poverty automatically does to people as well.

My aunt bartended for the hornets in the 90's. Said Muggsy was one of the nicest people she'd ever met. Still have the autographed basketball card 😊

I do not follow basketball, but I started following Muggsy when he played for Wake Forest. Everyone was talking about his size. And you showed them that you're the BEST Muggsy! You are an inspiration to many and a wonderful heart. Thank you for persevering when many wouldn't and showing the world that you shouldn't count out someone based on their height!

I've always been an NC State fan, but I loved watching Muggsy when he was at Wake Forest. The only times I've ever watched NBA games was when he was playing.

I remember watching him as a child. Thinking to myself, what a monster, being that small and competing against people twice his size. It was truly inspirational to see it in action, David vs Goliath.

My old friend ended his life due to his height. Being 5'3 he experienced so much discrimination in his life. Constant bullying, Head split wide open by a group of kids. etc. He finally had enough. Heightism is a real thing. We're all one and the same.

One hand i feel extremely bad for what you and your friend have been through, but on the other it bothers me how he really decided the best way was by doing that, really ending it all kinda like taking someone elses life in a way

Why NOT you? A person is more than their height or looks! No one’s mission is to be 6ft! You are in this universe to share yourself, so be a beast at it-whatever that is! HOW is he not a first-ballot hall of famer?!! In some sports, we make a big deal about who's the best "pound per pound". Why not in basketball? This is the pound-per-pound king right here! And he's not even in the hall of fame?! COME ON! There have been some other great short basketball players in the NBA, but they've been closer to 5'8", which is still a LOT bigger!

Im a 5 foot 3 man, and have let my controlling father talk me out of getting married and starting my own life. I was 23... I'm now 42 and have regrets about it every day of my 😢😢😢

I grew up in the inner city as a white minority. The first time I got mugged was for the bubble gum I had just bought at the candy store. Back then, the gum used to come wrapped in wax paper that had a cartoon on it. I asked the muggers if I could keep the cartoon and they let me.

Its a mistake to think small guys cant play point guard... jason williams or John stockton or jason kidd could have played like they did being shorter.. John stockton and jason williams werent that tall. Avg hight. I would rather have a 5"3 point guard who can put down 10,3 apg, 3.5 spg and 8ppg than a 6"5 point guard with 14ppg. 1 spg and 3 apg.

The only reason MJ called him a midget was because MJ knew how good Bugsy was. And he must have been one of the best players around. Smallest but with the smartest brain for the game. RESPECT!!
