Thank fucking GOD there is more boss baby. I was actually DYING without the boss baby. I was diagnosed with cancer after i finished watching the first boss baby, and as soon as the sequel was announced, it was CURED. My entire room is decorated with every piece of boss baby merchandise ever created. I worship the boss baby. I watch these films daily, they are the only motivation I have to stay alive. I only exist on this planet to watch these masterpieces of culture.

Fun fact: I went with my family to see this movie and halfway through a huge storm cut the power to the entire theater and everyone inside was forced to stand in the main room because it was storming so hard nobody could leave. After leaving I completely forgot this movie existed. This movie is forgettable.

At least the first one had the tiniest sliver of creativity, showing the world from the perspective of a kid. This movie has nothing but pain, suffering, and C R I N G E.

Had to watch this. Crazy thing is I believe the story is just an elaborate daydream. In the beginning, Tim is starting to despair because his brother has grown distant, his older daughter is obsessed with school and doesn’t really need him as much, and his baby daughter is normal. Everything suddenly changes when he lays down and his old clock talks to him. Suddenly the school is evil, his brother is back for a grand adventure, and he discovers his own child is a BabyCo agent. So we wasted our time on the oldest trope in the book: “it was all a dream”.

I watched this video while animating a short movie for my digital animation class in college. The part I'm drawing specifically is one I decided to remake. I previously made that part drawing the main character falling from the sky and kinda half-assed it so I could get it done quickly and move on with the animation. This falling scene is the most complex in the whole short film, I have no time to waste. So why did I decide to remake it? Earlier today, my sound designer sent me a new version of the theme for the main character. She changed the flute we were using for the melody. I loved the old flute, but that new flute... it just messed me up. It touched me so deeply it actually messed me up. I couldn't stop listening to the song, it was so beautiful and so carefully crafted, it sent me back to the very first day I decided to create my character. I felt the same magic I felt when I first saw the image that inspired me to create that character. How could I bring myself to half-ass my animation when I have a literal masterpiece for a soundtrack? Why call it "wasting time" when it's actually INVESTING time into making it a masterpiece too? I think it's moments like this that make me still wanna put all my love and effort onto my work, instead of going for a cheap solution that will make me more money. I'll hardly receive any money in return for this animation, but the pride I'll have into animating and directing a great production with my own blood, sweat and tears, along with the amazing person my sound designer is, that pride will be bigger than anything. That's why I don't just stop trying. I wanna be proud of myself.

As much as I want to hop on the “Boss Baby is terrible by default” train, I admittedly enjoyed the sequel. It wasn’t packed with potty humor jokes like the first one, the animation was decent, and the new characters were pretty fun. Like, still 4/10 movie. It’s Boss Baby for Christ’s Sake, it was never going to be good. But I had a lot of fun with it regardless.

There are other 'baby' movies that we have to address why their trash and cartoons aren't kiddie flicks- Home (for being sugar-coated distractions), Here Comes the Grump (incarnation of the stigmatization of cartoons as kids destruction, this movie is a literal fever dream after eating moldy food from renaissance fair after left out in cold rain), Smurfs lost village (it won't be on the list if it focused more on the culture of the lost village instead of getting lost crap). There are other wastes that didn't make the list because it feels like a parasite leeching you- Lino um Aventura de Sete Vida (Turning red fixed its flaws by being a panda with culture), Craptsdon acadamy- monster zone (this movie on its league of its own of being a toxic nuclear waste from Chernobyl)

The reason why Disney and Pixar have, and will continue to dominate the animation industry is because once most other animation studios make one successful movie, they spend the rest of their time making sequels, and don’t care about making any original movies for a while. DreamWorks had a bunch of original successful movies, but then they were muddled down by more and more sequels.

My biggest problem for me was that small scene at the end. So Theres a scene where the mom is spying on the kids,then the phone starts ringing and it answers in quote “Tina we need you for another mission”. And the mom responds “I’m listening”. Okay so this begs the question.Does the mom know that the baby can talk or Did she knew any of the events that happened in this movie or my theory,this was just in excuse to get us ready for a boss baby 3 ? It was never clear. But for me everything was passable,but I do agree that this was a really unnecessary sequel.

If I had the chance to make the Boss Baby idea actually work as a good movie, I would have it just be about the kid feeling neglected that the baby gets more attention, he feels like the *baby* is the *boss* of his parents. Also, Alec Baldwin still voices the baby, but only in sequences where it's obviously taking place in the kid's imagination.
