Hoovie did a great job convincing people that he was "one of us" when the truth is that he comes from quite a wealthy family and has a very solid safety net. I do hope that his personality IRL is as down to earth as he portrays in his videos, but the reality is that he didn't need his channel to succeed for him to make a living. He never was forced to drive hoopties out of desperation like the rest of us. I found lots of enjoyment from watching his videos (and that's basically all that matters really) but I never read too much into them like some people.

Yep - Vietnam gals - are serious people. They lived through bombings and massive destruction and are not seeking love - they want financial safety and are not unwilling to move up after the appropriate legal time period.
