Way more trouble than it's worth. It's not a simple fix like the video title suggests. It's so much quicker and easier to just simply buy a new one.

Good fix if you cant get one. What concerns me is the pvc coming out the wall. That's gonna break and need to be fixed 10 times before the ball valve goes out again. Lol

I plumbed for 38 years, and I just replaced them when needed.

I don’t care about the money or waste of time doing this trick… what it’s awesome it’s that increase the cerebral plasticity and subsequent learning on this. I mean it’s fun to invest time on what makes you fell well

A couple of years ago used a similar technique to fix a 1971 German Classic VW Beetle windshield washer valve. I used an inner bike tube to make the gasket and valve. I was able to purchase a new one eventually but didn't install it as the one I fixed works perfectly. Bike tubes can be used to make a number of things, gaskets, fix valves repair of water pipes leaks etc.

Amazing. I actually have a couple of these valves that slip. However I’m going to use high temp silicon for the gasket. Didn’t even know how simple this was before your video. Thank you from Canada.
