I really appreciate how you blur the kids faces. When we were fostering we could not post any pictures of our boy, and it just is so respectful of you to take the extra time to keep babies safe!

Thanks! It actually takes a considerable amount of time because each face has to be tracked frame by frame by hand. So I really appreciate you saying that and we are happy to do it. We try not to get any kids faces in our shots in general (99.9% of the time it just takes some time for us to wait for kids to be out of the frame of something we want to film).

I always think of that! Even in Disneyland when I’m roasting and I see these dancers in the parade or the characters in full costume giving everything they have, I think… how is the human body capable of that! 👏👏 to all cast members!

Castaway Cay simply looks more comfortable. Lots of large trees for shade and no swarms of flies. It is also much more Disney themed with very creative twists in communicating the Disney magic. It came across clearly in the video footage. Great filming and editing as usual. Great video!

I just went on the Fantasy for a week cruise in April, first cruise ever and by far my most memorable Disney trip. My friends and I watched the debut of the new Color Spin show with the tech and crew cast and had only high praise for the show. It was a unanimous vote as our favorite show of the trip. Castaway Cay was amazing and I highly recommend the serenity bay area for the adults! If you have never been on a Disney cruise before, I would HIGHLY recommend saving up for one, by far putting Disney in a new tier of entertainment and hospitality. From beginning to end, the cast took care of us, befriended us, and laughed with us. Do the adult trivia on the ship, truly the best of times were during those trivia moments. The fact you guys got to see Declan warms my heart, he was amazing!!!

I would also recommend eating at Remy's, seven-course meal, and if you can splurge pair it with the wine pairing menu as well. Give yourself a truly out-of-this-world treat from this three-hour experience.

You are spot on about why we love castaway cay. Disney needs to do more on lookout to make it special. Right now I’m staying on the ship or it will be a one and done and make cruises with castaway a priority.

We went there two times on our cruise and people paid a lot of money for the double dip and I feel like half the ship didn’t even want to leave the ship of the second visit to the island 😔

Im always excited to see new adventures of you guys. I live in the Netherlands and it gives me the feeling that I am experiencing it again. We often go to Florida and Los Angeles. Pro tip from us: If you want to visit Paris, you really have to wait another year, it is chaos there now. And you don't have the hospitality that you have in America. But we have the best BTM.

Love this! As a solo cruiser I am unlikely to cruise Disney despite being a full fledged Disney adult (it feels weird) so will stick with Virgin, RCL, and Celebrity but determined to convince my sister we should go and take my nephews. 😂🤷🏻♀️

I have that Castaway spirit jersey with the mesh at the bottom. I like the long sleeve covering, the bottom mesh party lets in a nice breeze. Yes great for covering a bathing suit!

To be fair, Disney had 25 years with castaway cay and they could have drawn upon the strengths and weaknesses of the island when designing lookout cay. It seems sloppy and money hungry on their part to have lookout cay open not being fully realized.

We have been to Castaway Cay 5 times and it was always a highlight of the cruise. From your video it seems that may not be the case for Lookout Cay. Hopefully Disney can fix the issues you pointed out but I am surprised that they even exist in the first place. Thanks for these videos and all your others as well.

re: peters ice cream technique: do you pull the lever all the way down when you serve? if so, pull it down halfway/slower and the ice cream wont come out so fast and youll have more control.

My family isn't into characters. Lookout/lighthouse had plenty....I saw all of the gang except Pluto. I didn't like the fly situation and the fact that there didn't seem to be any fun things in the water to look at for snorkeling. I like Castaway just because there's more to look at in general and the lack of flies. ❤ But Lighthouse has nice beaches too and as I said we don't need character interaction, we prefer less/none. Even as passholders of the parks we do not want loud music at parades and character experiences in general. Barring some Star Wars characters maybe.

The thing about the characters is you don’t need to interact with them: most of them have lines or set items for shows so you could go and not interact with one character if you want to

😊 I have not been to either island or on a Disney Cruise (really want to though!) but I agree with Peter and Kiara from what I have seen in their and others videos. The plus at Lookout Cay maybe was the kid’s splash area - but even that was sadly generic looking, as was everything else. It is almost as though Lookout Cay could one day be Disney, then the next day they change a few signs and it’s Carnival or Royal Caribbean. Castaway Cay just seems to be much more immersive “Disney” and I think that is what most people want on a Disney Cruise.

Ironically I think they were trying to be more authentically Bahamian at Lookout Cay by focusing on conservation, nature and getting more input from locals with art, music and culture. They consulted with the Chair of Visual Arts at the University of the Bahamas. I think they have the right idea but it just needs more work. You can stay authentic but still think of vacationers comfort and what Disney loving guests want. More photo opportunities being the perfect example. It’ll get there!

I feel like Lookout Cay got hit with the Chapek Era discissions since construction started march 2022 and Iger didn't return until November 2022. I'm sure josh had more plans but with both Chapek cutting costs and environmental groups criticizing Disney's need for a second personal port, all the grand plans were probably watered down in favor of pushing a product out by 2024.

I think they both offer different options that would make a cruise loads of fun. Someday I’ll get on a Disney cruise and see them until then OA videos for me 😂

I'm sure with time the interesting features will develop at lookout cay - Lighthouse Point - and people will establish the quick reference name! It's quite telling though, that the designers don't seem to have realised what makes Castaway Cay so magical and didn't copy those elements... of course wouldn't want to clone the island but the things you highlight as making it so special could have an equivalent there. I'm sorry Kitra was feeling rough - bet it was worth pushing through for a bit of time on the island though!

Feel like Castaway was made with heart and Lookout Cay was made for money. More so with how much detail, character and care they put into creating Castaway - I do appreciate showing the culture at Lookout Cay. Everything at Lookout Cay just looks the same and mass produced without any thought.

I do think there is some heart put into how they are showcasing the culture of Eleuthera and the Bahamas but I’m guessing they didn’t have the full budget to create an immersive storytelling experience.

Does anyone know what song the band was doing around the 18 minute mark, before Max and Goofy showed up? It sounded so familiar to me and my partner but we just couldn’t place it. PS-I saw someone else mention it but Kitra’s dress at Palo really was lovely. You looked gorgeous!

I have to wonder if Lookout Cay will never feel Disney "enough" because of the limitations and restrictions that come with having to be very careful with what/ how they build on the land. It might always be its own identity first and a Disney destination second, but only time will tell. Looking forward to your eventual trip back to see how things have been adapted, updated, adjusted, and changed in a year or so!

I honestly don’t think it’s because of the limitations because they could basically do whatever they want with the buildings they built on the elevated walkways.

I paused at 11:28 noticing those fish look a lot like Flounder from The Little Mermaid 2023. Makes sense, that movie takes place in a Caribbean like setting. FYI that is my favorite live action remake.

People forget that when CC first opened the beach was overrun with sand fleas. They solved that with, essentially, insecticide. They’ll solve the fly problem at LC too. Give it time. Palo is the best. Since virtually EVERYONE orders the soufflé, when we went they just brought us one of all the other desserts without us even asking. This was back when Palo was just pay one price, order whatever you like.

@@OrdinaryAdventures Definitely. That long walk from/to the ship is ridiculous. And the “blanding” of the architecture is inexcusable. It’s like what they did to the Jazz Kitchen restaurant in Anaheim, and the Fort Wilderness cabins and new DVC building at the Poly in Florida. Removing theming and character is removing why people go to these places in the first place. Somebody high up has no idea of what Disney is all about.

When CC opened the main complaints were lack of shade and no Cabanas, vegetation was in its infancy with it just being planted. I think it takes time to develop these private islands, not exactly easy to get large materials in there. Maybe in 10 years Lookout Cay will be better

Notice we didn’t complain about the vegetation or the shade much (that’s because I’m pretty sure those will be issues Disney will address). My main complaints is how generic it feels and a lack of theming/immersion in its storytelling.

I think Lookout Cay wasn't ready it wasn't finished. They should have waited until everything was finished. They went there too soon. They need to rethink the food areas.

Kitra so sorry to hear you a little under the weather, but rallied to get some lunch! As to Peter's question about describing etc, totaly got what you where trying to say. For me, having watched your vloggs and others, here is my take. It's all about the THEAMING again, the new stop lookout cay, is just, bland. It's Disney light, or barley there Disney, which is what they are doing wtih ALL their reno's, and new builds. It feels like they are afraid to what? scream Disney anymore? That is what made it BLOODY SPECIAL IN THE FIRST PLACE. The new stop, after you walk away from the ship, well it could be almost any port, from what I can see. If you didn't see any character's, would really know it was a Disney stop? I wonder. I find it very frustrating. Having said all that, thank you both for your honesty.

Great video. Sorry Kitra was not feeling well. Peter looks like he is still losing weight. Good for you. Why did they leave a map of Lookout Cay if you were at Castaway Cay? I agree with Kitra, it did look like a turtle.

Yup, the difference between the islands really shows…and I gotta say- you both looked lovely during your dinner (I think that dress is my fave that Kitra’s worn so far and I love how fun but still proper Peter looks in his character shirts)~
