WOW. I lost my best friend of 57 years because it was cut in whatever she was getting. She was so ashamed of herself, that she didn't tell me. And we could talk about ANYTHING!! Or so I thought. She had been in two really bad car accidents, with one of them they had to use the "Jaws of Life" to get her out. She was always in pain. But her doctors took her off her pain meds way too quickly!! She had no support up there in Baltimore, our lives went in different directions and I live in our hometown again, in Ct. She once was a Special Education teacher and was very good at it. My point being that she was a good person, and a loving one. ANYONE can get caught up at any time with a bad batch, and it REALLY COULD BE YOU next time!!! Bruh i was a fentanyl addict. Over the course of 10 years i never ever shot up only snorted my stuff and Let me tell you i almost died not from overdoses but from Pneumonia,sepsis, other major illnesses and not only that but the withdrawals alone have almost killed me. I almost died from throwing up so much my throwup went into my lungs and caused me to have a bacterial Pneumonia and i was hospitalized on a ventilator for iver 2 weeks then another 3 weeks in critical observation. Dude that stuff is such a miserable feeling to be in and a slave to it. I remember so many holidays i had to have interrupted because i bought a batch for the holidays and ended up being some bs and i had to withdrawal and ride back up over 100 miles into the city to re purchase from another area. Its such a helpless feeling because getting off makes you so sick and the intensity of the sickness is so bad i really dont think theres another disease or sickness that can compare. The Pneumonia and one time i had covid i could barely feel over the withdrawals thats how intense the withdrawal is.

Opioid withdrawal is literally hell on earth, the 5 days of intense physical withdrawal as well as the time after where you cant find joy in anything

I’m watching this video and I’m high on fentanyl right now. I have an appointment set up for next week to get a sublocade shot. It’s basically a suboxone shot. I got to quit. It’s too dangerous, too expensive, and way too risky. The withdrawals are so bad. There’s no way to describe how bad withdrawal is. Worst thing I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m such an asshole for getting back into it after being clean for years.

It sucks even worse now because a lot of the supply is being cut with xylazine, which is a vet tranquilizer that hasn’t been tested in humans. People who shoot up are getting extreme sores, abscesses, and in extreme cases, amputations. It also causes severe water retention, numbness in extremities, and a whole slew of other symptoms. The immediate effects are going from being completely conscious, to literally blacking out, cold skin to the touch, blurry vision, slurred speech, lack of spacial awareness, an extreme leaning over yourself or a strong “nod,” and your brain jumbling up like 10 different thoughts and you just talking to yourself or others out loud and more than likely spewing nonsense. All the videos on Kensington in Philly are a prime example of the xylazine cut fent or “tranq dope.” That’s not even it though. A lot of stuff in Canada is being cut with RC benzos. It’s scary shit, dude.

I live in New Zealand and am a slolo father. My 13 and 14 yr old daughters watch a lot of rehabilitation documentaries from America and Canada. Things look crazy bad. People not even in charge of their own minds. Other people not able to help. Other people sending ingredients from China to Mexico and then to the poorest people in America. I can't help thinking how orchestrated it all is.

Fentanyl has a very short life, which means you have to take more and more to keep high. This means high profits. Also, Fentanyl withdrawal (day 2) always made me go into Dry Heaving. That will make you seek relief cause you think you will die. Especially if you are older!

Like with most other Opioids, Fentanyl is cross tolerant with them, so Heroin addicts can inject Fentanyl and have it substitute the Heroin they were originally taking. Fentanyl tho, is around 5o times the potency of Heroin, and absorbs so well through the skin and every route of administration to be fair. Carfentanil is also like this, only 1000 times the potency of the parent drug Fentanil. It's used to tranquilize large game like Giraffe, there's no safe dose for humans. It's understandable why dealers would use fentanyl tho, imagine how many times further it goes.

This is mostly true except real good old school Heroin is a way better buzz than fetty, carfent, and tranq.

It's not that fentanyl causes an as you say an "intense euphoric high that makes other's seem basic", it doesn't. Fentanyl and it's analogues are crap compared to the euphoria of morphine/Heroin, oxycodone and other opioids. It's not that euphoric to be honest, it's very sedative, a lot more potent than other opioids and generally has replaced heroin/diamorphine on the black market. So user's not only have no choice to use other weaker and safer opioids because they're not as available but also because they hae a short half-life and because of tolerance too they can't. If user's had the choice between pharmaceutical grade heroin/diamorphine or fentanyl, the vast majority would choose the heroin because it's a far more euphoric warm high and lasts longer. Relegalise, regulate, tax and educate!

Fentanyl doesn’t make you feel numb it’s less euphoric than heroin it lasts 1/12th as long as heroin it’s a better pain killer than heroin tho so that’s why people use people who use fentanyl knowingly are doing it because they’re in more pain than morphine can help with

I'm almost starting to believe that heroin causes long term numbness after getting sober. I'm 5 years clean and have no desire to use it ever again but my care button is almost gone. Nothing bothers me (ironically, except anything that has to do with death) and I am almost emotionless.

Fentanyl’s high is considered worse by most who have used it (as evidenced by places where people can get prescriptions for both and overwhelmingly do not choose fentanyl) and “dealers” aren’t the ones cutting it into drugs. Most dealers don’t have access to pill presses.

Confused? It was the best thing the doctor put me on. It saved my life. When I stopped using it, it was easy. I truly mean easy, I was on the patch 50mcg and it was as simple as just not using it. Set it down just like tylenol and never had an inch of addiction. Did not use it for an effect used it for pain, I think that's what it is used for?

This is all true but there's more to it, namely it is VERY cheap and easy to get into selling compared to nearly every other drug out there, there are so many dealers and so many users will make the money to use by dealing too, that the dealers don't really care given enough time there will always be a customer. In some cities you can start dealing and get your first piece (usually an 8ball at around 3.4 grams) on credit - that is literally unheard of pre-fenty. It's just that cheap to produce. It's never gonna stop, you can't stop something that costs pennies to make and then sells for several thousand by regulating it - you need to approach it from the bottom (users) up, not top down (like with laws increasing sentences for dealers).

It's what's available. Cheap and plentiful. Good luck even finding straight heroin these days. But ultimately it's because of prohibition. Alcohol showed us the same thing. The illegality incentivizes smugglers/cartels to traffick in whatever is the most potent, not what people actually want to use. Most opiate users are not looking for fentanyl specifically. It lacks a lot of the good euphoria of other opiates and the effects are very short lived, and withdrawal comes quick. But sadly continued prohibition will only cause this trend of stronger and stronger opiates or derivatives becoming part of the supply to worsen.

It's the only drug that quitting without the proper support and plan, the withdrawals can literally kill you. Why the homeless are all on it so bad, without any family or friends to help them while going through the channels to stop (detox, rehab, etc.), or anywhere to go while weak from doing so, they're forced to use to not die and be functional until there is ever the right support to keep them off.
