I helped my Nb friend do their buzzcut and it was actually one of the rare times things were actually going well for them and being uneventful. They literally did it out of boredom, a bucket list check, and to reset the bleach damage. We had friends and family members ask if they were having a crisis, including their mother actually getting super upset and worried over it 💀 Bestie, they just wanted that nice velvet head sensory feeling it wasn't that deep

This explains so much! I’ve never been able to figure out this recent trend of bleaching the hair on the top of the head, while leaving the hair on the face and elsewhere its natural color. It looks terrible on EVERYONE. But I now see the reason for it, so I understand. It’s definitely a warning signal to stay away…far away.

I am a classic "hey buddy, why is your artwork looking a lil dark lately?" kind of queer. Like yeahhhh when the art has motifs of dehumanisation, existentialism, and muted tones, I could in fact benefit from a check in. I do love the art and enjoy it of course, but it is a coping mechanism yes.
