I finally did some conversational Spanish! This is how I usually talk, and it's quite chaotic because I tend to forget what I'm talking about. I lose track lol.
This will serve as a more advanced Spanish listening practice, as it is a natural conversation, and I highlited some vocabulary related to the topic!
I hope you can get some practice with this comprehensible input Spanish video, (as that is actually the purpose of the video).
You can practice your listening while you get entertained BUT if you have any trouble understanding you can always turn on the SUBTITLES in the settings!!
Comprehensible input is language input that can be understood by listeners despite them not understanding all the words and structures in it.

One of the great things about Spain is a kind of mini-obsession with food. This has various knock-on effects. The best one for me is that it's really hard to find a restaurant that doesn't serve good food (in my case, just one restaurant in fifteen years of living here). Another interesting effect is that you often hear friends talking quite specifically a dish they cooked the day before, or the quality of food they've bought, conversations which I never heard in fifty years of living in the UK (where they might discuss a good restaurant). And strangely, compared to the UK, there seems to be less obsession with cooking programmes...but more people cook!

Irene lo pronuncia un poco como 'sh' mientras que Laura lo pronuncia como lo pronunciaría yo, más o menos como los ingleses lo pronuncian. No se si lo habéis notado vosotras, siendo nativas?

My first business trip to Spain was in the mid 90s. Stayed in the northern section of Madrid (Madrith.) Knew 4 words of Spanish at the time. Ring ring. Answer phone. "You wanna go to a tapas bar?" Never heard of such a thing, so the closest thing that I could map to in my mind at the time was a topless bar.

Me ha gustado mucho vuestra conversación, muy interesante, especialmente lo que habéis dicho sobre las tapas. Hace dos años viví un tiempo en Andalucía donde te sirven las tapas gratis si pides una bebida. En ese caso sí, ha molado mucho y me parecía que la mayoría de los españoles de allí suelen salir a tapear muchísimo. Saludos desde Alemania :)

Amo las tapas! Siempre voy con mis amigos para comer tapas. Me gusta porque asi puedes probar mas cosas. Y al final es un poco mas barato. Aqui en Almeria, normalmente son gratis con la bebida y puedes elegir. Irene es muy simpatica, me gustaria ver mas conversation con ella :)

Milk is addictive too! During digestion the casein (the dairy/milk protein) breaks down into casomorphin which attach to dopamine receptors similarly to opioids (heroin, morphine etc) :)

I also have an insane addiction to milk, I've not met anyone who is the same, until I saw this video haha. That was funny to find out. It is something I cannot explain, specially when I was a teenager, I wouldn't mind skipping meals if I could just drink some frozen milk, or very hot milk, the extra temperatures made it more delicious for me. haha. I recently found you and omg what a blessing you are for me. I was looking for a youtuber that doesn't speak as they do in South America because is difficult for me to learn when to use s, c, or z when I write. I have a problem tho. When I watch something in Spanish usually I understand 90%. But when it comes to speaking in Spanish the vocabulary I remember drops to 5%(when I'm not nervous. If I am nervous because of my social anxiety I forget even my own language and name). I graduated in philology English and Spanish and it really didn't help much with my problem of forgetting words in Spanish. I don't know what to do. I tried keeping a journal in Spanish but I ended up translating every single word because I am not sure if I am using the right word. Any recommendations?

Be confident, because even if you say the latin american word, we will most likely understand you, unless you say popote, which for us is pajita (straw). So say the word you know and ask what is Spain's equivalent word, and little by little memorize them!

Me gusta mucho cocinar las patatas en sarten. Ya se que puedo usarlas para preparar tortillas. Si te gustas la cocina latinoamericana, las arepas son muy facil. Pero necesitas la harina especial (de maiz). Me ha salido bien la primera vez (y despues).

@@spanishafterhours No sé cuál es la diferencia entre los dos. Entonces estaba buscando en internet. Aparentemente las arepas de trigo solo puedes cocinar en el horno. Las arepas normales podemos hacer en el sarten o en el horno. En Wikipedia hay pagina 'arepas de trigo'. Ademas hay mucho mas tipos deharina que podemos utilizar :O. Yo compro la harina en paqueta amarilla o naranja (harina PAN). En otra pagina alguien me dice: La arepa es un pan plano hecho con harina de maíz, es uno de los platos emblemáticos de la gastronomía venezolana y un alimento básico en la dieta del venezolano. No es sólo una comida, es un símbolo de identidad nacional. Nosotros no pensamos en ellas como un pan; el pan es el de trigo, la arepa es arepa, como una denominación aparte; una comida única y especial. Vale mencionar que es un alimento sin gluten. Pero cual es la diferencia entre esos harinas? No tengo ninguna idea. Solo se que son de plantas diferentes ;)

@@TakeitSpanish Fortunadamente, tengo una amiga que vive cerca de mi que tiene cabras de leche y hace y le vende leche, jabon, y crema locion. Aunque, es dificil encontrar leche de cabra o oveja en el supermercado aqui en los estados unidos.

I'm able to understand some of it, but whenever you are laughing, it is apparent that I'm missing something! Is it supposed to have subtitles? I don't see any.

Yes that is true.. Her eyes are really beautiful.. In fact her smile too is good along with her sweet voice.. But anyway, the purpose is just to listen to more of Spanish and nothing else 🙂
