I had a few girls in my 20's pull the "He's just a friend, don't worry about him" line on me. In doing so, they immediately gave me the high joker. And it's that risk reward thing. They risked something true for instant gratification. Maybe for "something better". I'm now in my mid 30's. They have all tried to come back into my life. I never let them back in. And it eats them up even more because I have multiples more resources and income than I ever had in my 20's. Always stick with your first investment.

One of the things I’ve learned is if you try to be *just friends* with a girl, you will find out quickly that 99% of them want the BF treatment: you opening doors for them, giving them your coat, listen to their problems, pay for foodie hangouts (they don’t want to consider it a date), and even sleep with you after a break up.. HOWEVER, if you treat them like a dude: they pay for themselves, you don’t compliment them or simp for them, you don’t listen to their problems or if you do you make them listen to yours; watch that friendship die. I only have one female friend who’s married.. the rest I quickly lost over the years

As a married guy, I dont have any attractive female friends within the same country (I've lived and travelled all over the world) out of respect for my wife. Simply put, the only reason I'd ever have an attractive female friend is cuz theres a sexual interest there. Even then, my female friends that I;m not generally interested in sexually, I keep at a distance cuz theres not a whole lot of mutual interests.

I do not have close male friends that I would invite home or visit at home. And no man is welcome when I am alone and my partner is not at home. Has nothing to do with any ideology, men are predators, even my teddy bear. And no girly close friends for him either. Only family members of opposite sex are ok.

Never again will I trust a woman that says 'He is just a friend'. Found this out around my mid 20s when my ex (We were together for few years) left me for her supposed "best" friend.. (Also dating attractive women are pain in the arse for multiple reasons but for one .. She'd be hit on by strangers and friends a like .. No respect man.. ) Long story is.. my ex, she had this little brother that was in some band at the time. And this guitarist/back singer of them visited their home a bit too often for my taste. Many times after work i'd visit my ex and what do you know there he was, that guitar guy. Blatant lie that he was there for her little brother blabla .. Saw their chat once , such a simp man and this guitar guy he already had a GF, gorgeous one at that but still.. So one day My Ex would break up with me and She got toghether with that guitar guy only few weeks later after dumping me .. Heard then few days later that the guitar guy dumped his ex ONLY FEW DAYS earlier that guitar guy got together with my ex.. So something was brewing al ready.. Yeah dirty, real dirty. Also on the flip side , yes i'm guilty of "playing the long game" too or be friends with only the pretty one's.. So that's also true.. Never trust a woman with (any of many) male friends

Yeah I don't think this is so simple. There is alot dynamics at play here. I've had female friends that I wouldn't want to bang, and there's certainly been women I've been friends with whom had no intention of ever banging me. At times this has been true on both sides. I also usually have more in common with women than men, as I'm not into typical "guy" topics like sports or cars. I don't think anything in the world bores me more than sports. I'll happily read a book, talk about artistic projects or even horoscopes (don't have to believe them to find them interesting) though. This usually makes female friends better company for me, for non-sexual reasons, than male friends. That bring said, there is absolutely less comfort when I'm with someone and she has male friends though, because I'm smart enough to know I'm one of the rare exceptions to the rule when it comes to my interests. There's certainly been one or two guys that I've had no problem with my woman being friends with in the past (usually because I know the type of guy they are), but for the vast majority it does tend to be a red flag alert - especially if it's someone she's slept with in the past. If drugs or sleepovers are considerations, it's a hard no.
