an funny side note. during the Phil Collins concert mission, if you let the forellis cut all the lines to the catwalk, a 2 second cutscene will play of the catwalk falling on top of Phil, his last words being "OOOOH NOOOOOO". the mission fail screen then says "Looks like Phil didn't feel it coming in the air tonight" :P

It’s crazy that Phil Collins, or any irl celebrity, is even part of the canon of the GTA universes.

The Forellis made a mistake trying to kill Phil Collins. Vic protected him. Since they failed the attempt, they were unable to get this fear reputation. Even though they got their money back and left Phil Collins alone, but they lost so many of their men giving them a pyrrhic victory. It was awesome to see Phil Collins in the game and he got to voice himself and played his songs.

Giorgio can easily be that guy that sits at the Bistro table at the beggining of Vice City (the black shirt guy). You can see that he gives advices to Sony like a Consigliere do, saying that the Drug bussiness is dangerous and none of the Liberty City families messes with the hard stuff. The issue with Phil’s survival and Barry’s lack of willingness to pay Giorgio back is that someone like Phil wouldn’t at all want to pay the Forellis back, especially since he had nothing to do with the debt and Barry constantly endangering him. He would enter witness protection and at that point things would get worse. Luckily Barry did pay them off. Also, I think Sonny sent the hitman squad at the stadium, they look sophisticated. Also Giorgio being a consigliere makes sense. There is also the fact that he wasn’t in line to take over the family. Sonny’s brothers were in line first. I gus Toni is an exception but Joey wasn’t very involved with the family business. The thing is I never thought Giorgio died in Fort Staunton’s explosion. If anything, I thought he was imprisoned. Also someone important like him would be killed personally by Toni. Giorgio can bring the Forellis back up because he has a lot of experience. I think Toni killed him and went to exile, then return in 1998, hence the Forellis’ hostility toward him, in comparison to the Sindaccos.

I haven't played the original 3 3d games, save for gta:sa, since they were released. I remember coming home from school in the 4th grade, seeing my mom playing gta vice city. She told me I wasn't allowed to play, well, sometimes she had to cover shifts at the local Hardee's, and, a few days after first seeing Tommy vercetti, I got to control him. Mom came home, saw me playing, I'll never forget what she said. "Well shit dude you've already played it so I guess it's fine." I was the only 4th grader in my school to play gta, it was pretty sick. Anyway, I wanna thank you for these lore videos. I remember playing the games and doing wild shit like getting 6 stars, all the hidden packages, sea shells, horseshoes, and tag spots (I didn't bother playing much gta 3) But I hardly remember the story. I was also a child, and, a lot of things didn't quite register. I found you through the gta:sa video where you talked about how Carl was a good dude. Gta:sa shaped who I am as a person, K-rose will forever be my favorite channel (aside from VCPR) out of all the games, and I'm thankful as fuck that someone like yourself, who didn't grow up with the original games as released, is able to go back and deep dive Into all the stuff going on and the little things we wouldn't know if not for your input especially the mob connections. What doesn't make sense is that at the beginning of Vice City, when Sonny asks "who's our contact down there [in Vice City]?" - Giorgio had (two years earlier in 1984) been there lending money to Phil Collins' manager Barry and sending so many goons to Vice City trying to get his money back, and literally a few days later was on trial for fraud... in Vice City! (in Jury Fury), so the natural answer to that question would have been "My cousin Giorgio is our contact down there" NOT "Ken Rosenberg, schmuck of a lawyer" - Giorgio is way closer to Sonny than Ken is. The best explanation I have for this is that Giorgio is a bit of a loose cannon who benefits from the Forelli name but doesn't put work in for the Forellis, only making his own moves. He is family with Sonny but he doesn't do business with the Forellis but only on his own. Otherwise why wouldn't Giorgio be at least partly involved with setting up the deal? Why would Ken be the first person to spring to the Forelli members' minds as their contact in Vice City? Sonny's friend says "it's all drugs Sonny, the families won't touch that shit" - maybe this is the reason? Maybe Giorgio, as much of a crime lord, racketeer and fraudster as he is, still has strong enough morals to be against dealing drugs, and Sonny has to keep him in the dark and involve Ken instead? It still doesn't add up to me!

My head canon: Vic drops the empire and takes up Phil's offer to be his manager full-time. Lance suffers a mental breakdown from this and (after a healthy dose of powder) hires a goon to play to role of Vic moving forward. This is who we see in the opening sequence of Vice City.
