Fun fact, there's a town just south of Rome named Colonna (it means Column). They found a pre-roman column buried in what is now the town square, so they just named the entire town Colonna, even the local noble family changed their last name into "Colonna". The town's coat of arms is a white and golden column with a marquis crown on top of it on a red shield, an olive branch and an oak branch tied together by a tricolor ribbon are below the shield, a provincial mural crown is on top of the shield

My friends and I would be over at each others houses basically every day but it was generally assumed that we would eat at our own homes. If someone ate much later then they would stay in the room playing by themselves until the friend's done with their meal. Of course the parents would sometimes ask "you're eating at home right?" or "would you like to eat with us"? But generally we were free to play regardless of any dinner plans.

Not sure if it is the same for every part of the UK but it kind of depends how long you're staying over. If you're just having a quick visit you'll be offered either tea or coffee, maybe something to snack on (Mostly just either tea or coffee though) but if you're staying later then you're definitely getting dinner. Thats pretty much how it goes where I am or at least my my household at least.

Regarding 6:43 yes that's true, but Persia controlled only the land West of the Indus river, which currently corresponds to the sparsely populated provinces of Balochistan & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Most of Pakistan's population is centred around the provinces of (West) Punjab & Sindh, which have always been linked with the Indian subcontinent.

i think the food thing is a very culture thing attached to history, in the north food was sometimes very scarces so people only made enough for it to be enough for the people it was planned for. i guess it has kinda stuck afterwards.

A couple graffities and the protests are to our local authorities. In my city happened the same; we also complained to our major and things got better, we don't want to be advertised as place to get drunk and party hard. Just imagine all your city as a place that people choose to lose all their inhibitions.

0:27 As an English woman, somewhat with social skills: When you give the guest food, it could be a sign of respect. However, it could also be awkward because there's too many assumptions. You're assuming they haven't eaten, they like the food you're giving them, and the food is something they are not allergic to. Giving the guest respect is easily done with a drink instead --- typically tea. I wonder how many countries which are unlikely to give you food _are_ likely to give you drink instead, or if it's just England.

You cannot be allergic to meat. Potato and cabbage allergies are also unlikely. You would be amazed how much Eastern European can do with meat, cabbage and potatoes. :D Also giving food to a guest is not sign of respect, but rather a obligation of the host. While guest refusing to eat it the sign of disrespect. :p And you will eat, even it this means forcing yourself to eat. If you plan to do multiple visits in one day you are physically limited by how much you will be able to eat. :P
