✏️ It's not uncommon that companies don't answer an email. I'll look at why that might be and steps you can take to reduce the odds of it happening to you.
✏️ The support email black hole
Emails to companies often go unanswered because of errors (bad email addresses), insufficient information, lengthy or rude messages, contacting the wrong person, or overwhelmed support teams. Companies may prioritize resources differently or simply not care. To increase your chances of being heard, make sure your submissions are accurate, concise, and respectful.

#1 reason, they don’t care. #2 you wouldn’t like the answer, so they can’t answer you.

I otherwords, customer service takes a back seat to profits. They care more about making money that helping customers.

Being complete and concise both at the same time is more art than most people realize. I consider myself complete in my communications while many people think of me as being unable to be concise. There is a fine line between being concise and being blunt. ~~~ And I often feel that I get the wrong answer or an incomplete answer because the recipient did not read the question that I wrote. I cannot change their ability to read. ~~~ Or they are often compelled by policy to only answer the way their policy allows. ~~~ And offloading support to a 'community' of users via a user forum is fraught with its own set of issues related to well meaning, but inaccurate or poorly written answers.

I've tried to delete my account on websites i don't use and there was no delete account button. then i did research, found out i needed to contact them. so i emailed them... no reply. :/

Lately I've had good luck with online forums and such over technical support. Trying to support family and friend can be the most difficult. Talk about impossible expectations. I have a rule for asking questions: Ask the right question to the right people in the right tone with the right expectations.

08:49 "we are not the customer" I remember the first time I experienced this (the early days of PayPal, eBay, Amazon) it was hard for me to grasp..."What do you mean there's no 800 number!?" 11:22 "tell your friends" So refreshing when the service is good--I almost wish they'd accept tip$!

I keep a collection of little chocolate whiskey bottles on my desk for the rare time when I need to contact Microsoft. It calms me down for the frustration to come.

Several years ago I emailed a pharmaceutical company with a minor complaint about I product I was using that was replaced with a variation that I didn't like as much. They never replied to my email, they had one of their staff doctors call me. I was shocked to say the least because I was expecting no reply at all. Yes I still use their product.

Two words: Plausible Deniability. Never answer means they 'may' have never received your email, answering it means undeniably they did.

I find forums provide the best customer support and likely the reason the companies won't up their support service. Why would they when a bunch of people are willing to do it for free?

Big tech companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft don't have good customer support. It can be hard to get in touch with someone at the company. These companies usually provide online support such as an online forum

Google keep flagging my very small site as dangerous due to social engineering. It's just a login screen with logo. If I ask to be re-evaluated they just unblock it, then a few weeks later the same. There is no info about why they think it is dangerous and I can't find any way to contact them asking why. Google has too much power here. It's causing me lots of headaches.

Every article I write these days has a companion video here on KZfaq. Now, not all questions asked get articles (or videos), they may just get a direct reply via email.

Hi Leo, Please assist. I have a Dell pc, it suffers from the Sleep Resume problem. It's a big issue, and if you go into Dell Support Assist you'll see the number of complaints and solutions. Dell is not helping since I'm the leprosy holder whose machine is out of warranty. Perhaps it's a Windows/ Dell problem? I've paid a technician to attempt a fix. He couldn't. Please advise. I can't simply dish out bog money for another brand, so I'd like a repair, if it's possible.

The companies could care less what happens to the product after you purchase. Typing in the wrong address?! Maybe less than one percent if that. Corporations at one time had highly skilled customer representatives that would elevate your concerns through different levels of specialized personnel until a resolution was reached. They would you give you their ID rep number, and a case number for follow-up. They have no intention of helping with their product; DON'T buy this trash that it's our fault.
