WHY don't more female bikers do track days? Is it really as intimidating as we fear it is...?
I believe the average % of female bikers in the UK is around 6%. And yet, girls are still rare enough on the track for it to be a 'thing' when we turn up.
As two 'biker chicks', we did a track day at Oulton Park race circuit in the UK. It was EPIC and we had a lot of fun, but it was also intimidating as hell and I totally understand why women who perhaps don't have any friends who ride on track, or know anyone else there, would prefer not to go.
Still, I hope the story of our experience- both the good and bad- can help you feel more confident about being brave and booking up that track day! Let me know your experiences or fears- I'd love to know your thoughts.

So true👍🏻 I'd love to see more women on the track and in my lot too. Sadly many do it just the once, love it but then never return. There are so many women out there on big supersports bikes that never hit the track. The track is the safest environment for exploring the performance and handling of almost any capacity bike. Warning though: Once you've done a few to a season you start searching the www for tyre warmers, stands and sticky rubber.

Hi Kat, love most of your content but have to say I disagree with you about attending track days on your own being a big deal. I’ve gone on my own to every track day I’ve attended in the last two years, Chuck all my crap in the van, drive to circuit, Chuck crap out of van, do sessions, load van, go home. The only time I’ve missed having a mate with me is helping load up at the end of the day so I can get away quickly, although most folk are friendly enough if you do need a hand. Jealous of you doing Oulton though - not got round to riding that one myself yet!
