It's literally all about branding and marketing. Luxury goods and Veblen goods depend more on exclusivity factor than anything else and GS lacks that......beacuse its affordable. The craftsmanship, quality parts are usually very much secondary to marketing the brand as something to aspire.

lets be honest the watch has been successful not because of the watches quality but their marketing. The only reason the price point is so high on these watches is because they can. That being said I actually like the watches to me they're creative and I would love to see some of those aspects in an ALS or patek or any of the classic watchmakers

Some are nice watches, but the watch I’m after is a royal oak in 18k gold, perpetual calendar. I’m always looking at the day date and month while working. Plus it has the week of the year around the whole dial. I wish a watch offered the same exact functions as this ap. Can’t find anything for a few thousand with the same styling.

you have to respect what the man richard mille was able to accomplish. he worked in the industry for decades and then went on his own. with that being said RM like jacob and co are just watches for people who are rich. I prefer something more timeless. something that goes deeper than just hype alone if you will.

Glorified G-Shock or not, you have to respect the marketing tactics that are going on behind the scenes. The watch itself costs around 15K to make, and if its a tourbillion or a grand complication probably around 20-25K. But, simultaneously being sold for 150K plus retail, and can even triple or quadruple in resale. AP, Patek, Rolex, have all been around for decades if not centuries, and have never been this sought after (Unless we're talking nautilus' or jumbo royal oaks), but RM has everything sold out! Hats off to Mr. Richard Mille, this is unprecedented!
