Health is the most important part of an individual's life. Without health, there is nothing.
The second wave of coronavirus in India put a lot of people in grave financial distress. People had to take massive amounts of loans to get their loved ones treated. This gave a serious reality check to all of us, that-
You can earn bucketloads of money, but one single incident can literally wipe out your entire wealth!
This is why it is so important to get a health insurance!
But buying a perfect health insurance is not as easy as it seems. Given the complexity of an insurance policy and with so many options being available, it is but natural that you might get bogged down and give up buying an insurance altogether.
Thus, in this video, I break down the concept of health insurance in simple parts and try to explain the process of getting an appropriate health insurance which will be suitable to your needs!

Funny place .. India , automobile insurance is mandatory , health insurance is not . The Indian health system has come to a juncture where only 1 medical emergency can push a family to poverty (especially families who have just entered the lower middle class). A good Health Insurance is an amazing and one of the most important hedges against uncertainties today . Thanks for spreading this awareness !!!

Being from the insurance industry, I can say, your video was very necessary, as insurance awareness is very low in India. Thanks a lot for bringing this up, most of the points you touched upon are relevant and accurate. Just to bring to your notice, you still can cover your parents in your family floater policy, even your in laws too. Anybody who is reading this comment, I will suggest you to please add Critical Illness Rider and Accidental Benefit Rider in your existing life insurance policy. If you still don't have LIFE and HEALTH Insurance, come out of the cave, run and get yourselves insured.

@@meghaseth5815 star comprehensive individual. Took print out of the policy wording. Highlighted all the important clauses in pen so that it doesn't come as a surprise in future. Also there is a limit to which we can customise our policy. My policy dint tick all the check boxes but most of them.

Oh cool. I'm 22 and I have just started as an agent. I started learning about this topic from my parents who are Agents for a Health Insurance Provider. The most important thing is to have a provider you can trust and look at the track record of settlements. Lots of online businesses provide health insurance at a competitive price. If you are purchasing a health insurance online instead of going with an agent, please read up the provider's track record on the forums available online. And please inform your family and relatives about your health insurance situation. Most of the times you will be extremely ill and in no condition to even think about the insurance claim. Have a "guardian angel" relative who can inform the hospital or the agent on your behalf. Please do your due diligence and bear in mind that dental coverage is not included with most of the policies. I know so many folks who have this exact misconception. Please get a health insurance as soon as possible as your age will cost you more. Sometimes a single year can make a difference of Lakhs of rupees in the long run. Cheers, Great video as always.

Very indepth information Akshat. Though i have taken the medical insurance for me and family but there are few points I need to recheck to insure that I don't face problems at thetime of claim settlement. Further to add Homeopathy and Aryuveda also become expensive treatment now. Hence one should also consider taking this into account while taking insurance. Thanks for the video.

good one sir. This is extremely, extremely and infinite extremely helpful video for all. In just short 17 min you have explained so much. Hybrid option is literally useful. Sub disease clause, network hospitals, cashless and reimbursement, copayment clause, claim process rate and time updates. Everyone should look into this video. This is really super complex projects. very informative. you have covered everything from how much to take and hidden details of it. we also got to know about ditto services. I will surely get in touch with them to understand more. Thank you for providing the details on service providers as well. I just need one info for people have insurance from their office. How to go about with this. We would already been paying top-up in our company but how to take personalized insurance. Should we opt same amount thinking if we come out of work or if company sends us out any day or should we take less if we have one from corporates. It would be good if you can make second part of this video and talk about people who have corporate insurance, and some govt people who have Esi facilities. It would be good if you can talk about restoration clause in insurance. I see in your video screen shot that there was something called restoration. We know little but it would be good if you can cover that and if there is any hidden catch there for us to understand. Also, we hear that these health insurance increase based on the age and some health insurance will not increase based on age. What to do in these cases. Whenever you have time can you please come up with second part of your health insurance and cover these topics which will be a good 2 episodes for us to understand length and breadth of health covers. As usual you are awesome. Excellent sir.

One imp point to mention is that hospital should be registered one with local authorities (Generally should have greater than or equal to 13 beds) to be eligible for reimbursement. More applicable for the rural India, as this happened with me recently. Hope this helps!
