As someone who grew up in the 80s. I remember the RAIDERS were really the people's team in LA. The Rams had really left LA in the early 80s and went to Anaheim, yet they kept calling themselves the LA Rams. Most of my friends stayed loyal to the Raiders even after they went back to Oakland. We were excited to get the Raiders back but instead got the Rams and the Chargers. Over 20 years of not having a team most people adopted another team except for the Raider die hards of which there are plenty. Its just hard to get excited over the Rams. I think it would have been much better to create an all new team. To make matters worse the feeling on the street is that the owner of the Rams blocked the raiders coming back because he didn't want to share the market.

Because of that, they often care more about the uniforms, colors and horns logo than the city they play in. They know how the St Louis fans feel coz they lived it when the team left and for years stayed Rams fan and continued embracing them in St Louis. The BBLAR movement and the support of Rams fans outside of St Louis only took off when it was clear St Louis were not going to upgrade their stadium and keep the terms of their contract. Would they have fought so hard if St Louis kept their agreement regards a top tier stadium? Probably not and most would be resigned to seeing the yellow and blue uniforms in the odd game.
