Hey guys, Sion main here If fiora likes parrying your Q, remember that you can hold the second stunning part for a whole second while the parry only holds for .75 of a second. As such switch between slamming the axe down immediately and waiting for her to parry early. You'll know you're screwed if the fiora goes without parrying your Q and just dashes out immediately.

There's this one memory burned in my mind about the time I went nasus against fiora in solo q. I was obviously fearing for my life until I beat her a couple of times. Then she spoke in all chat saying how my champ is broken for having high health and vamp for free. I have never laughed so hard in a single game of my life.

I think it's really funny in the K'sante gameplay trailer when Fiora tanks like 8 tower shots, misses half her abilities and STILL almost fucking wins. I personally think her Q should have like a 12 second CD at max rank but reduce it's cooldown like evolved Kai'sa W if she hits a vital. This allows her to keep her absurd sticking power, but makes it so she doesn't have a massive dash on a 2 second CD making catching her basically impossible.

My favorite moment of the Fiora mains subreddit was when a top Fiora player did an AMA, and every main in that subreddit was shocked to hear that she was broken. They like to pretend that their champ is purely high risk high reward when in reality, she's low risk, high reward considering her strengths and versatility. When played well you get shat on with little counterplay other than to respect her in lane and still get outscaled anyways. If played poorly, she can choose to play passively with no risk to herself, sidelane all game quite effectively and destroy towers fast with her empowered autos and resets and then still tank your hp once she has 2 items under her belt.

As a Fiora onetrick I gotta agree on all of your points. I started playing her because the first skin i got was soaring sword fiora and i loved it, didnt know the champ was so good back then.

With that precision and confidence you have when you talk about game design, you should really make some "How to fix..." videos or something like this where you imagine and give ideas that could improve the game (Even new champion designs why not).

Fiora is by far my most played champion. With that said, I acknowledge her design is an absolute nightmare. With the exception of bramble+tabi as well as a few horrible matchups, she has more upside than most champions. The reason everyone plays her is simple: If the Fiora plays better (sometimes “better” means perfect), she wins. She is one of the only champions where it isn’t about playing better than her; it’s about hoping she plays worse than you. Her astronomical skill ceiling comes from the very fact that you are at the mercy of whether or not the Fiora you’re up against is better. I can’t think of any other champs where, at nearly every point in the game, you are at the mercy of how THEY play rather than the street going both ways. That’s the fancy way to say she gets to “remove counterplay” as many people clamor. Sure, she gets to “remove counterplay” but I wish more people would appreciate how immensely difficult it is to pilot her in a way that is as oppressive as people make her out to be. It’s privilege that needs to be very decisively earned.

I think another important thing is that her scaling is not really conditional. Like if you look at the best scaling toplaners for example, Nasus is useless late game if the enemy has cc and your team doesn't, Kayle scales a lot worse if the enemys outrange her or have a lot of cc. But Fiora doesn't have that which is really unique

The core issue with fiora is that she is a scissor that only looses when you match it with 2 rocks, but still defeats paper regardless.

I wouldn't mind champs like Fiora existing if other toplaners shared the same privileges she does. Top needs to be less of a matchup check than it is, and you shouldn't get put out of the game completely because of a bad matchup and an enemy jungle camping you. Top needs more agency.

Fiora has been my permaban since her rework. Percent health true damage is a crime against game design in itself, but her parry is just straight up making her unbeatable. Sure, her numbers in the early game are fairly low and she is incredibly mana hungry, but I just hate the idea of playing against a champion that takes away my entire agency and I am basically at the mercy of them being terrible at the game. I mean, if you think about it, Fiora's parry is technically an infinite value ability as well, since she can block literally everything during the .75 seconds. Her matchup spread is way too good as well, considering that she is arguably one of the strongest toplaners in the lategame. I'd just remove her from the game, pending a rework. If I could remove 3 champions from the game there is no doubt that they would be Fiora, Vayne and Yuumi. Yone may be incredibly privileged, but at least he is very squishy and all skillshots. The other 3 however, they take privilege to a whole other level (in my opinion). Fiora and Vayne basically being full point and click without any means to itemize against them and Yuumi taking away the main counterplay against their entire class.

The Fiora match-up is always interesting for me as an Illaoi one-trick. It is probably the biggest mind game right up there with Mordekaiser. Maxing Illaoi E gives it a faster cooldown than Fiora's Riposte (about 2 to 1) and so it becomes this dance between baiting her parry, seeing if she holds it after a Q, or tries to bury the W animation inside a Q dash. The fun, for me, is the mental chess of throwing terrible E's at the Fiora player for a few rounds, making them commit to this muscle memory, and then completely flipping the script, lol. Nothing is more satisfying then having a Fiora all in me and complain about 'counterplay' when I put myself against a wall and just thrash her with Illaoi, lol. What's so hilarious is that the 'Four Horsewomen' can all find themselves absolutely bodied by a patient Illaoi, because each one of them want to all in and that's literally where all of her power lies.

I played Fiora alot in s11 and s12, she almost robbed me of what i enjoy the most in league, laning phase. She doesn't necessarily win most lanesas lanes are over before reaching the 2 item spike and she definitely doesn't lose lanes aswell, but it becomes so stale with her, it's like a waiting game. At one point she's just starts bulldozing whoever is against her. That's why i'm enjoying my boys Vik and Vel'koz down the midlane

Totally agree, also Fiora is very abusable on low elo because players don't use basic attacks and if you start making short trades in between enemy coodowns its a winable lane and potentially snowball match from there on.

I think something that needs to be mentioned when talking about splitpushers is how over the years macro has become so much less effective and thus people don't understand it thus making splitpushers a lot stronger

I used to have lots of trouble with fiora, but a random friend told me a seemingly obvious weakness that everyone overlooks - she pushes slow as shit. And if she buys Tiamat then she just fucks herself and I farm under tower. She’s harasses and pokes well in the middle of the lane but not well under your tower. I’m a d2 singed main and I used to play stupid and she’d freeze on me and try to prevent proxy. What I do is sacrifice my life bar early take the hits and gas a few waves. Then back. If I do manage to proxy it’s game over. I also always have time to run back to lane before she can crash her wave and get plating because she pushes a slow as shit. Another weakness - she’s not THAT strong in team fights, she only seems strong if you manage to Int her or get bullied into being behind levels. If you manage to play a high wave clear champ that excels in teamfights she really doesn’t do shit. People are so scared of her parry ability but really that’s her only real defense, then you can fuck her up real easily.

I think the best counter to flora is shields and heals. luluu is nice bc polymorph is hard to repost and the shields are easy to block vitals.

one of the only ways to counter fiora effectively is deaths dance and crown, since those have flat reduction that is calculated before the maxhp true damage.

That is why i play camille more often into fiora, camille has good ability to keep up with her and thanks to nuke of true dmg is only ability that keeps with fiora's passive Camille has abilities and passive to keep her healthy in that match up It is free win in lane if fiora goes for conqurer because in trades, you dont proc it almost at all and vs camille, it is mandatory to get grasp 90% of time

I 1000% agree with you, she NEEDS to be jinx ulted into next century. But really she NEEDS to be nerfed HARD.

Playing VS Fiora as a Tank just feels unfair. Yes she isn't easy to play, but this doesn't make %MaxHealthTrueDamage fair. Like he mentioned, it has 0 Counter. Of course it needs a lot of practise to Proc the Vitals consistent, but when someone learns it, it is so hard to keep Fiora in check. VS ALL other Champ you can Build COunter items. But the only thing you can Counter is the heal she recieves. Yes Antiheal is good against her, but in Late Game as a Tank you don't care about her heal, thats the Job of your Damage dealer, you care about how fast she can kill you. In my Opinion they Should increase the Value and change it to Normal or Magic Damage, or at least only 50% as True Damage. Currently it just feels unfair to play against her.

Her abilities are cool and fun to use, but together they function a little bit too well. I actually thought she was difficult to use but actually no, she's really easy to pick up and learn

*Fiora takes very little skill to use at a 'competent' level, however has an EXTREMELY strong early, mid & late game with no discernible weaknesses besides her lack of team fighting capability (which I wouldn't argue isn't even as bad as people make out.). Tanks can't play vs her at any point in the game, Bruisers get outscaled, Juggernauts have about 10 minutes of time to do anything against her. Dualists/split pushers only equal her in a best case scenario. Which is honestly crazy to thing the best case scenario in ANY situation is a literal coinflip. In my opinion she is the worse champion to play against, since there is literally ZERO counter play if they have any idea what they are doing.* I feel the same way about riven/irelia, however the play rate of these champions is very low, and even lower is the amount of people that can actually play them to a good degree. I can safely say a riven/fiora needs at least 100-300k mastery points to be at the very least competent. You can play 10 games as fiora and abuse her quite easily. She is my only top lane ban, without fail. I really couldn't care otherwise. If i am filled jungle, or support, she is getting camped all game. Sorry fiora mains, i really do not care. (p2 player, not great, not terrible)

Can yorick theoretically counter a fiora? Modern yorick build focuses on keeping distance in lane and using ghouls to long range harass. With w you can create terrain to block vitals, force fiora to dash in or out of it, and it should be able to take her q auto targeted attack. Yorick doesn't have any hard control for her to counter either, and while she can attack fast enough to deal with his ghouls the fact that maiden won't have vitals and attacks from range would force her to split her attention in combat.

Against a Fiora, I'm not even remotely sorry for picking Vayne and auto auto Qing her every 5 seconds until she presses B. But thankfully (kinda ?), I have to deal with even more degenerate champions to bother a good Fiora player. Yes, I'm watching both of you, Olaf and Jax.

Best way to counter MaxHP true damage is sheilds. Get Steraks for example instead of her needing 5 vitals for 20% HP true damage each she will need 7 to break the Sterak sheild.

I despise rush down champs because there is no champion who's actually effective at truly being a rush down counter I honestly think if they rework singed it should be to absolutely destroy rush down as a counter pick, enhancing the punishment for chasing him

In short. She is broken. She beats you in lane AND outscales you. She is just like Riven or Irelia. Once you are Good enough the enemies only counter play is you as the Fiora screwing up
