I had 2 540s, an 03 manual m sport and an auto 01, I got the 03 540 back in 2014, I wish I kept it, only had 86k miles 1’ower clean title, I sold it a year later for 7k bought it for 5k, now I can’t even find a 03 540 m sport manual with less then 150k miles for 8-12k…

I had a chance to drive an 05 M5. Perfect Sports sedan. The engine is an absolute Gem, matched perfectly by the 6spd manual. Great video, spot on description of modern BMW’s.

automatic is not the real deal...only a 6 spd for max driving and an accurate feeling for the car.unless it has a 6 spd manual or its not a true i sport.ive got a true 2000 540i sport.not a m sport.the m sport came out in 2002 . the i sport in 2000 were all 6 spd manual cars...and they werent automatics.

I’m not in the 18-45 bracket any more, but it’s ok, my 540i/6 isn’t an M-Sport.

I am not into wagons in general, but I agree that BMWs, especially old ones, look captivating in the wagon form.

Although the exhaust has a nice note I don't think it suits the car, It's supposed to be understated. I have a 97 540 m sport that is stock other than face lift front end. My T5.1 transporter on the other hand, I've gone to town on upping the performance

I see what you’re saying 👍 I am still pleased by the quality of the sound. Straight pipe usually sounds as sh*t imho, but this 540 sounds very pleasant to the ear.

What do you have in mind for bolt-ons? Supercharger, downpipes and tune from 86Tuned should give you those numbers, I think.
