i thought that this season was bad at first with its unbalanced nature and the car-nite meta, but every single change since launch has been positive and make me like this season more and more. plus, if I get bored of wrecked, I could just play reload.

in my opinion reload is the perfect example of chaotic balance. its fun and chaaotic but not to the point where its uncounterable, the small map means constant chaotic fighting and its fun, the weapons are great and the constant action is amazing. i feel like reload captured that fun sense of chaos way better than invincible win machines

This is such a whiplash season. We've gotten so much new stuff and modes that are awesome, but the constant nerfs even the most recent one just keeps making this season less special. I honestly just hope they split sometime or just for one season they just do something different and don't nerf it into the ground.

Here’s how I would split the loot pool: Its pretty simple, just make lower ranks have pubs loot and maybe elite champion and unreal have tournament loot pools and have diamond be the cut off line for tournaments. This way there is a way to practice while also giving an easy way for new people to enter the competitive system

unrelated to the topic at hand i think the editor need to tone it down with the noise effects when transitioning from face cam to gameplay (in my opinion) just some constructive criticism

back in chapter 1 season x, epic did a blog post responding to the community's outrage about the mechs at the time and they explained that the mission of Fortnite was to bring players of different skill levels together to make an fair experience where anybody can win which is why epic adds a lot of these op items and never really separates the loot pool due to that reason

This theme is so good that it made me watch Mad Max Fury Road for the very first time and ended finding one of my favorite movies!

im glad you talked about this and bought up points against other casuals who dont liked to play the game for skill, so they can see why their points never make any sense. i typically dont agree with your opinions but this is how i felt all season, and I hated that some players were trying to take away the voices from the comp and the side of people who had valid reasons to complain

So If fortnite wont split loot pools between ranked and normal BR cuz they want to cesulas(I know it is spelled wrong) to play ranked just split loot pools from elite and above cuz if you are not pro player you are not making it to elite

Me and my friends have been having a blast after this update whether it be Fortnite reloaded or battle royale we have been having fun because we load up boss cars with c4 and then leave the car right next to a big fight it’s free kills

i lowkey liked the season at the start i play both zero builds and builds btw. In builds i play alone cuz all of my friends don’t like build sweats which i get. I only started not liking this season this past week when endgame in zero builds there is 36 people last non moving zone and everyone is just sitting in a car. (that happened yesterday btw)

I think the reason epic will not split the loot pool because it will confuse a casual player or new players that’s is not with the fortnite community or don’t want to be in the fortnite community

Oooow K.C man the 'Splitters' got to ya! 😅 I'll agree that I find myself engaging more with people in 1V1s vs the 1st few weeks of HitnRun style play. My lobbies still have 1 or 2 in the end game in cars, so I find myself destroying repair stations to help combat it in the final stages. (Everyone and their mum seems to be packing Nitro Fists these days too) I think there needs to be an onus on Content Creators to while YES be critical when it warrants it, when something clearly isn't working, but when its purely because it's not to your liking or because it spoils YOUR rinse and repeat play style, you need to be accepting to others enjoying it and being happy with the changes. TOO FEW Content Creators are saying if you like this season, the cars, the chaos, etc that's ok, there's nothing wrong with your opinion for liking it. There seem to be too many Creators really hitting that negativity because they don't want to change their style. I feel like more Content Creators need to be supportive of the side of the community that enjoy it and not so quick to cast people off who enjoy it as NEW or 'TOO CASUAL' On the Build / Competitive side of things though I do see the argument for having LESS CARS (lower the amount of cars around the map etc) in the Build mode to help keep the build aspect an active part of the game and not have the 'excitement' of 20 players left in the final circle ruined by some dude with a car running through the builds and bringing it all crashing down. (Side note) As a Zero Build Guy, I don't even know how you build players keep your head on a swivel like you do. I get lost just watching you! But I respect the spectacle of it all. what surprises me THE MOST though with the turrets, that NO ONE is talking about is why they don't have a HP Bar like the Business Turret. So if you encounter a car (as we do these days) focusing your shots on the turret (let's say the turret has 300HP) You could knock it out or destroy the turret and force the player out of the car for for a Tradish 1V1. I'm very surprised this wasn't even considered by Epic as it would have been a great way to counter the sheer fire power of the cars. For me, a player in their first year of Fortnite, I love the evolution of the game, the need to change my playstyle keeps me on my toes and makes the game feel unique every time I land. Have they pushed it too far with the cars? Yes. But that just means they've found a line in the sand not to cross for future seasons. I very much Doubt we'll see cars like this ever again in Fortnite. Final note: the edit was great!

Yeah competitive is always the most exciting for the fan base when we have crazy items and play styles in the game, but that also is what upsets most of the established competitive community. At the end of the day, Fortnite is always suffering from success, because having a community this big makes it literally impossible to ever please everyone. They just have to try to stick the balance of making the game enjoyable for as many people as possible as best they can, while also changing things up to keep it fresh and exciting.

I Think They Nerfed Cars Too Much.

Cars were just too much all at once. It's ok to add new and interesting things (mods, augments, mythics, npcs, even natural disasters) but the cars were not the established playstyle, and there wasn't nearly enough counterplay on launch. People like to feel rewarded for their time investment, and this applies to casual players as equally as comp players, but every now and then Fortnite introduces something meant to circumvent the building of skill (brutes, ufo, these cars) and I know some people feel burned when that happens, particularly OGs who've seen it before. It's Pavlovian response at this point. BUT it was only really bad for the first week, after the initial nerfs the cars were super balanced and now they might even be a little weak? Sadly the general audience is so quick to write off a game now; if Reload wasn't happening, this summer would've been a new low for Fortnite. All in all, I agree with you from the content creator perspective, the big boys really should be more open to alternate playstyles and more ready to switch up the content, this season is PACKED with stuff to make videos on but very few are capitalizing. GREAT THOUGHT-PROVOKING VIDEO AS ALWAYS!

Zero Build should remove snipers. Reload should replace the shield bubble juniors with the original shield bubble. Port a fort and fortresses need to be replaced with port a bunkers.

Player count was super low because nobody liked that bs in the game. My little cousin could kill a decent player with them op items. Games balanced now but day 1 it was toxic.

As a casual player all i want is for Fortnite to be fun and sometimes having broken things like the mythic cars are FUN. It didnt matter to me how many times i lost at the start of the season cuz me and my friends were enjoying ourselves SO MUCH all the losses didnt even matter

They should have just released the stuff like the tow hook and all the other items before the cars got super nerfed. This season was at its best when the cars were OP imo and if the stuff released with them it would have been even more fun. Now it's neutered to oblivion. Also cars do take some skill. Not just anyone can out maneuver the chaos and agression this season. Doubly so if you're in the battle bus because boy howdy some people are awful drivers. Can't tell ya how many times I seen people, casuals and crown holding sweats, get stuck in tight spaces or on cliffs. Even with all the nerfs though and the damnable Sniper rifle returning (nothing should insta knock or kill in a single shot, at least leave at 1 hp, will never change my mind on this,) I still find normal ZB/BR far more fun than Reload

Even though I don’t play Fortnite that much since chapter 5 came out this season in my own opinion is better than the last 2 seasons I haven’t played it at all and I’m a little bit surprised that almost the whole community doesn’t like this season and for the first time the players that play is super low I would’ve thought I would be seeing this maybe in like 3 or 4 more chapters since this game is still loved and played we never had a season like this people been hating every season but low player count like this is a first

Competitive to me isn't about fun, competitive is about, well being competitive. If you put a competitive player in a pubs, it's not fun for the pub players.

I do wish klarque knew more about comp because the take about shocks and boom bow and then compareing them to goku us frezia was clear that he aint know that much the bow was uncounterable in high level comp it alowed you to grief any form 100s of meters away it is not that it is unskill full it is too strong.

Is the loot pool that bad

Fortnite has been known to break boundaries, I believe its been one the huge helping hands towards their success. Many other games prioritize a lot on their success, look at Halo for example, not too much of the game has changed for a long while, this doesn't make the game bad not at all, but the fear of change has stopped the game from reaching a broader audience. Epic has to appeal to 2 diffferent audiences, I don't mean ranked and casual, I mean old and new. I have introduced people to game even as late as chapter 4 and they absolutely love it, but bring chapter 1 players into the mix and they will have different opinions. Digressing a bit here but still to point, Fortnite Reload, despite being a cesspool of OG fortnite, is still an entirely different mode and has a huge different appeal. These controversial changes has honestly been for the better as the chapter 1-3 lootpool plus the small combined rebirth map has made for some extremely fun games. Fortnite still needs to bridge a gap within these 2 audiences, casual and competitive, old and new, and when you are creating as many game-breaking updates as fortnite does, that bridge will be damaged, but never destroyed, and always reconstructed, better than last. That's what I've seen atleast. They may be different audiences, but there needs be similarities and connections.

I actually like alot of the loot pool this season... But the car game play was boring AF, getting 16 kills sitting in a car was lame and not satisfying at all for me... especially playing solos, was a bit better playing with friends. And i agree 100% season is better since the nerfs, but some nerfs were a lil much like why do we need to know exactly where the boss cars are on the map now ... might have made sense before all the other nerfs too them lol Now players now know what medallion, and mythic weapon, plus your exact location if you take the car kinda too much on that nerf.. And honestly If competitive had different weapons and loot pools ... I would enjoy it more, I enjoyed playing a tournament with only nitro splash it was a completly different game to play

Comp player here :) and i genuinely like the items epics introduced into the games even tho ive lost games to things like nitro fists and nitro splashes i think just having a meta where i need to work maybe a little harder for win and qual is so much more fun then your typical box fight pump shot gun meta

i find building fun, and when everyone is in a car there's literally no building involved (even after the "nerf") and it's why its boring for me

Competitive games, especially those for money or some sort of rewards should have a specific loot pool and map. Even bring back syphon? And not ruin it for everyone else. Then content creators & comp players voices should not have more sway than the statistics epic has for the majority of the playerbase. If certain items or players interrupt the balance of what epic is going for then a change is required. Not because whining content creators or 1/3 people who dont like it and wont stop crying onlone

3:58 This point here is incredible, these people hate fortnite for being fortnite at the end of the day (a game that adapts and changes itself) they cant keep up with that mentally when it comes to gameplay Imma keep it 100% this season was great but the nerfs was too much, if you nerf nerf and nerf again and again youll end up having the game feel like it received no changes at all because everything will morph into the same thing which is what the competitive players want (the same styled gameplay with no changes) we did all this nerfing to have more players at end games and slow down the gameplay even more due to so many players being alive now. At the end of the day all we needed was weapon damage buffs to cars and emps and for Builds just nerf the nitro and the fist to 60 damage to walls.... thats it

These comp players want builds to be the ONLY thing to beat any item. The refuse to adapt, actually use the cars and items that stop them becuase there too lazy and just want to pub stomp with sweaty builds but they cant do that cos there builds arent the only thing on the table.

Imo, the problem with nerfs is that, they go to far, you can’t drive a regular car near a real player anymore without it being blown up in 5 seconds, so the turret and grenade launcher is completely useless, and the nitro fist are completely useless as a melee weapon and are a mediocre rotation at most, shockwaves are 10x better. The problem is that nerfing every new thing into the ground makes the point of a new season pointless, it feels like I’m playing myths and mortals part 2.

Near the end, you nailed it. Epic has tried splitting the loot pool before, and Arena drew staggeringly low player numbers. That is why Ranked exists with the formula it has. The truth is that the competitive scene is tiny, and without acceptable player numbers to justify its existence, it would be deemed a liability and fold. Epic is doing what's necessary to keep it alive because they've invested heavily into it monetarily.
