I think it would have been the best forza game if they focused it on the right audiance

I have been playing every single forza game from the beginning ( for the past 10 years ) and the main reason why I don't play horizon 5 much is simply because it's not exciting enough for me to play every single day and yes sure I do pop on every now and then but I personally feel that it has lost that forza magic that we want

That progression part is the most relatable to me. I remember playing forza horizon 3 and being so excited over unlocking a new festival location aswell as getting my first lamborghini (which was 300k at the time). The progression was still satisfying way later in the game when upgrading the festival locations. In forza 5 however there is no festivals to unlock or upgrade, getting a 300k car for example feels like nothing because you literally get that at the start of the game, and the super wheelspins make it easy to get all the cars you want anyway

Btw, I remember you wishing that you could see how much distance a car has driven in Forza a couple videos ago, well you actually can, When you go to select the car(the place that says "get in car" ), instead of pressing "get in car" , press view car history, it will show you everything about the car, from distance driven, to the total value of parts attached

The only reason why the HotWheels Expansion took 8 months to release was probably because they were working on the first expansion, but they didn't had time to properly finish it so they released the HotWheels DLC so we could at least enjoy the game a lit bit more after waiting for the next DLC

The worst part in fh5 is car restrictions in the playlist fair enough the class restrictions but not car restrictions its not fair

I'm a big fan of forza, but I don't currently play Fh5, it was a lot of fun for the first 20 hours but then the game loses its meaning, you don't have an objective and the map looks empty, the season events are boring and I (for having played the previous games) I already started with supercars like LCentenario and MClaren senna. It's a shame because I miss a forza game that holds you from start to finish. It's great to see that I'm not alone in these reviews.

6:49 Exactly why I've been repeatedly saying that Playground Games SHOULD get more of the low-powered, daily drivers in the game. Not only it complements perfectly with the setting and the vibe of the game, but we've seen way too many supercars and EVs. We definitely need a break and see PG initiating with the underrated daily drivers from the past and the present. I'd so love seeing Kei cars (City car classification in Japan with various incentives for the owners) - both old and new, to be in the game. The last I saw them was in Gran Turismo, and PG sure can do good with licensing now they're earning massively.

Thank you. I could not agree more. Unfortunately, that is the sad truth. But I think in the long run Microsoft and Playground Games are lying to themselves with their player numbers. They still brag about their great numbers at launch. But they were largely generated by the gamepass and should no longer be up to date.

Things that make FH5 appear boring: 1- Ultra-wide roads everywhere make even 260mph seem slow. Environments are empty and vacuous expanses of different types of fields. 2- Too many gifts and prizes. You can fill your garage in your first week. 3- You're instantly a star and treated as such. No underdog/phoenix rising arc or rival arc make the story sterile and inoffensive. 4- BRITISH PEOPLE EVERYWHERE - we are in MEXICO and still every single person has a British accent. I switched the game to Spanish just to get rid of those awful British voice actors. 5- The introduction sets the tone of discovery and adventure, but once you're out of the "storyline" that's basically the end of your discovery and adventure.

Festival playlist played a huge part in 5 being like this. Priorities festival playlist, keeping content on a pattern for festival playlist. Tbh fh6 is gonna be even more focused on it. Non priorities progression, story, everything that keeps a grinder going is non priority. Shameful

All of the points you made are absolutely SPOT ON. This is a video the developers have to watch and take into accoount imo. Only one thing I can say: PREACH (BTW that cutscene clip from Horizon 1 with the Corrado and the S15 looked soooo good, that alone had a bigger vibe to it than the last two Horizons together)

If they really want to keep owning the festival a thing, why don't they make owning the festival a reward for story completion that provides some extra endgame campaign while keeping the rising up the ranks in the main campaign?

To be fair, people seem to forget that some of the new cars and gameplay content had been added to Forza H4 to compensate the 3 year game cycle in order to keep the players interested. Without all the traveling, homeoffice restriction etc. the game would have probably remained in a 2 years cycle and all this "new" content would have been exclusive to Horizon 5. If they don't give up on Horizon 5 and don't just move to developing a new title then I'm sure we'll see new innovative content just like in Horizon 4 - It would be stupid if they don't cause they saw the success it gave them with supporting Horizon 4 for a longer period.

yknow, ive been playing gran turismo 4 for the last... 2ish weeks, and being arguably the car game with the best progression ever created... its quite impressive how the A driver's license on a game from 2004 is more rewarding than the whole forza franchise.

One thing I didn’t like is how easy it was to get through the game towards the hall of fame. I was just doing festival playlists and I completed it in 4 weeks and still had about 80% of the races to do so it’s cut very short. In older games you had to do every race to get through it. They threw that out of the window. It’s ridiculous

Problem is that Forza is targeting their lucrative audience which is 5 year olds which rich parents who will buy all of the dlcs and games to shut their kid up for 5 mins instead of cocomelon. Forza doesn't care about the loyal audience as realistically, from a business perspective, they have no reason to do so. They can just pay some people to say a bunch of good stuff about their game and since those channels target kids then they can get more kids to grow up into the franchise and therefore be a fanboy to the series. Unlike loyal fans who have matured to like all car games however will be easier to lose to other franchises. Forza is a numbers game. All about the specs and features. No one joining the franchise cares about what was prior to the series as the features that they get now are new to them. I joined Forza in horizon 4 after seeing my friend playing the game and completely falling in love with it. I saw no flaws at all with the game at all and therefore I thought it was the best game Forza had ever made. Now while I haven't played any of the newer games I can tell from the community and all the hate being thrown at fh4 that it wasn't good for the loyal players. But now days this is playground games' strat, actually, let me re phrase that, Microsofts strat. They get people hooked to the franchise for 1 to 2 games and drain as much money with dlcs then simply repeat the process, earning as much money without tarnishing the brand reputation like EA. It's just how the game industry works these days

I personally believe that cars that are brand new to the franchise should NOT get added to the festival playlist. They should either just get added to the autoshow maybe if it's a simpler car or a variant of an existing one in the game maybe. Or even better if they made us work to get it, just like we have to with the festival playlist, but instead of being timed exclusive to one week make it available, maybe with a new Horizon Story, in game challenges, a new championship or races, idk, honestly whatever it is, but not timed exclusive. It's a game that's about driving cars, and when they add a fully new car, the fact that you can only get it in a certain week is not fair to anyone that couldn't play for whatever reason. I know the auction house exists, but as you showed cars are very expensive there and sometimes you can barely find them up for auction. Maybe they could do a mix of both things I said for some cars even, makes us do some challenges or races or horizon story and then the car gets unlocked in the autoshow so you can now buy it. And maybe they should make more Forza Edition cars or even add special/different variants of existing cars into the festival playlist instead.

I'm a Forza fan, and I really enjoy the game. and I've been playing since Forza Motorsports 3. yes, I do feel the forzathon is a bit repetitive. but the reasons I really like the game 1. really big map, easily one of the biggest horizon maps so far. 2. lots of cars, and i really love that they're bringing back some of the older cars from horizon 1 3. hot wheels, 2 of my favourite hot wheel, Diora 2 and twin mill. then the hot wheels map was just icing on the cake, it made feel like i was playing world race again. 4. the black market is gone, I really thought that was annoying. 5. steering wheel support, they really improved on it in this game, not as good as motorsports or grand tourism, but better than FH4. 6. Horizon arcade solo, I really liked that they made possible to do the arcade myself. i don't have too worry whether anyone will join, or if there's enough to complete them, like in FH4. The only thing I wish they would bring back is upgrading your car on the fly like in FH2, I thought was a cool feature. i also wish would bring back the discount boards.

I'd rather the games/DLC rake a bit more time to be made, than to be whipped out quickly. Because things getting done "quickly" isn't really a good idea, so some people are just impatient. Though some of the add-ons, like that Hot Wheels one, you can get that finished in one sitting. And while i did it in about 3 or so, it is short & have had no reason to go back to it, as Hot Wheels isn't my ting really. But yes, while some people are impatient, constantly wanting things to happen quickly (look how many games are these days), some of the DLC's are short, the main story of them is for sure. And while the manufacturers might be in the game, that does not mean everything from the manufacturer can be in. So there would be individual licensing for cars too, it isn't as simple as mentioned. But alsoright somewhat too i'd say, some being held back just to pad out content. The 599XX & normal Agera, a bit pointless putting them in since the other versions of them are in already. The cars in the playlist, it's no wonder players use modtools to be able to buy cars that are restricted like they are, of which they aren't made for normal purchase once the life cycle of the game has gotten to a certain point, making some next to impossible to get. So those are the two things i'd mention about the video here, but all other things are indeed valid points. I do enjoy all the Horizon titles (fun to be messing with the developer build of FH3 too), but back when it started out, PG certainly cared more. Being a new developer, they put some good work into it. Then when they'd gotten more well known, less effort was needed since they were making good money & the like. That's just how many games go nowadays, the Pokemon franchise being incredibly egregious example. The bigger they get, the more famous they are & more money they make, the less effort needed. That is what has happened. So yes, i do enjoy all of the Horizon titles as mentioned, but they have been slacking, for the reasons i mentioned. A shame really.

HEAR ME OUT: What if the houses were a bit more accesible and you have a garage you can open and close, and in that garage you can have 2/3/4 cars spawned there! It will make it feel more fun and even for roleplay.

thats why they need to fix the PI system for online play and lock the tires to the style of race if you cant fix the PI. cause online is a complete waste of time unless you have a S2 978 car with off road tires in S1 class

First point.. hard disagree here. The WORST thing they could do is hide all the new cars behind the weekly challenges. Think about it from a more casual player, or just realistically. Everyone wants the new exciting cars. Nobody wants to be told "sorry, that new car that is in the news and hot right now was a 1 week timed exclusive and was only available 2 months ago. You are out of luck until is comes up again in 6 months to a year." That isn't fun. So they put older legacy cars and a few desirable, but not actually great cars like the 512T and the DMC12 and lower end cars like the civic and sentra that more people may own in real life and want to drive in the game. The weekly give people like me who like to collect the cars a goal to chase each week and a reason to keep playing every week but doesn't stop my casual friends from being frustrated because they can't get the cars they really want. It gives great reasons to go after these exclusive cars without making people feel like they are missing the best part of the game just because they aren't hard core enough to play every single week. Or aren't really good at the game and have a hard time earing 20-40 points each week. Or took a vacation and couldn't play for a week or 2. I say this is a pretty hard core player who is currently only missing 2 cars in the collection.

I agree to you, but… In my opinion its pretty good if a new games takes more time. It means that the devs worked longer on it. Forza Horizon 5 isnt the best example for that but in general if the development takes longer the game gets better, I also think the same thing about expansions. But 8 months is still a bit too much 😂

The worst part of FH5 to me is the map. It's very dried up and boring looking especially considering its set in MEXICO. Like the most colorful place in the world. The progression becomes a thing of the past anyway when you sink 200+ hours anyway 😅

I loved FH3's progression. The festival levels took a while to complete and you actually had to play the game to move forward. Rewards were exciting and the car list was amazing. Don't know whats happened recently but oh well.

I hope it’s not just me but seasons are boring now. In horizon 4 every week you loaded in the game looked different (yea winter sucked but it was different and encouraged you to try different cars and tunes. Now it’s just (oh look a sand storm) or (oh the volcano has snow) they’re not cool anymore. I do love the tropical storms but I’ve yet to run into one naturally.

One thing about the intervals: if they released fh5 like average on october 2020 then we would already be in fh6

They should add more “civilian” vehicles. I mean by civilian not just supercars, hypercars and very high performance cars. I want to have more basic low power cars example: toyota corolla, camry (even camry TRD), Volkswagen Jetta TDI, TSI, Passat, Phaeton and other stuff like this or one of my favorites the V8 Audi R8.

can we scream about progression for the people in the back, so annoying and that’s why FH1 was amazing. Beautiful storyline, great progression, awesome characters. in FH5 you start at the top and stay there so in one month the game is just bland. Also the horizon festival level system and wristbands were amazing, would love to see that come back. And that all comes back to progression lol.

I think that the developers and microsoft use this game as a experiment to try how much money can milk from human beings because the handling and visuals are very good , they have a very good base, i love to drive around doing nothing but looks like they don't care , the racing content and base game is weak and without sense of progession , you just grind and grind the updates are pure garbage and short like the weak events any kid with a friend can make better racing plots and events in a basement with toys the rewards are just stupid and they're made to laugh in your face for the wasted time : peel 50 in christmas , cars from older games,clothes,dances ,1000cr wheelspins... and now they are adding things to create better tracks , this way they do less and the comunnity do it for free it's super sad probably they are already working on the 6th game and how to make it look better than the 5 but ending with less features to be selled as updates
